  1. KC has the following players under contract THROUGH 2021 (2 more seasons) Hill Kelce Mathieu Clark Fisher Schwartz Hitchens Hardman Butker Okafor Thornhill Nhadi Saunders D Thompson ....Mahomes. That's most of the core. Starting QB, WR, WR, OT, OT, TE, MLB, S, S, DT, DT, K...and possibly RB. Chris Jones is the one long term guy we don't have done at this time (and maybe they'd like Charvarious Ward to sign long term, but he's under contract through 2020) That's ALOT of star power already accounted for, no matter what they do with Mahomes.
  2. 1. I agree KC will almost certainly be taking a CB. 2. I have only one issue with this draft. Miami, with a ton of draft capital, and needing a QB, aren't going to be cut in line by the Chargers. Miami is going to come away from this with their guy, probably trading up to 3 to make sure they get him. The Raiders, also, have all but kicked Derek Carr to the curb...have a tone of draft capital, and I can see them moving up to 4, ahead of the Chargers, to take Herbert...
  3. My first Mock...pre fre agency...pre good rumors...pre alot. This includes trades. Green is a trad up. Red is trade down/extra pick gained from trade down. 1. Bengals QB Joe Burrow Ultimately, the best QB available goes 1. 2. Redskins EDGE Chase Young Turn down calls and take can't miss edge. 3. DOLPHINS QB Tua Tagavioloa Miami trades up to ensure they get Tua here. They have the capital to make it happen. 4. RAIDERS QB Justin Herbert The Radiers also have alot of draft captial and swoop in ahead of the Chargers for Herbert 5. LIONS CB Jeff Okudah Detroit reaps the benefit of a trade down and still land their guy 6. Chargers OT Jedrick Wills Chargers miss out on the early QB derby, get OT they need instead. 7. Panthers DT Derrick Brown Ultimately Cam Newton is back in the fold and the Panthers add to the D. 8. Cardinals WR CeeDee Lamb Cardinals get WR1 of the present and future. Pass up OT to do so. 9. Jaguars DT Javon Kinlaw Replaces departing talent on the line that the Jags don't have cap room to keep. 10. Browns OT Andrew Thomas Browns get the replacement at LT for Joe Thomas they’ve been missing 11. Jets WR Henry Ruggs In a bit of surprise, Ruggs is first WR off the board. Combo of speed, effort, good combine land him here. 12. GIANTS WR Jerry Juedy Giants trade down, still land big time WR they need for Jones. 13. Colts EDGE K 'Lavon Chaisson Colts miss out on QB derby, don't like Love...take edge rusher they are missing on D. 14. Buccaneers S Xavier McKinney Buccs need help in the secondary, especially at S. This fills a hole. 15. Broncos ILB Isiah Simmons Denver lucks out and Simmons falls into their lap at 15. Fangio gets the ILB he needs to QB his defense. 16. EAGLES WR Jalon Reagor Eagles, needing WR perhaps more than any team in this draft, move up ahead of Dallas for Reagor. 17. Cowboys CB CJ Henderson Dallas wanted Reagor, but opt for Byron Murphy's replacement here instead 18. Dolphins OL Mehki Becton This pick wasn't part of the deal with Detroit. Miami gets a replacement for Tunsil here 19. GIANTS OL Tristan Wirfs Giants trade out nets them Juedy AND new starting LT. 20. Jaguars CB Trevon Diggs Jags take Jalen Ramsey's replacment here. 21. FALCONS EDGE AJ Epenesa Falcons need help with the pass rush. 22. BILLS WR Tee Higgins Big target for Josh Allen and his cast of smurfs. 23. CHARGERS QB Jordan Love Pats find a partner to trade out with. Chargers get their QB of the future…and local kid to boot. 24. Saints LB Patrick Queen Local guy, fills void of cap cuts at LB. 25. Vikings CB CJ Hendrson Vikings move on from Xavier Rhodes and this guy helps fill the void. 26. LIONS EDGE Zack Baun Detroit adding major pieces to the D with their trade out…get CB and Edge rusher in round 1. 27. Seahawks EDGE Curtis Weaver A bit of a surprise here, but Seattle doesn’t re-sign Clowney, and finds his replacement here. 28. Ravens S Grant Delpit Having let their starter at safety go due to cap, they draft a replacement here. 29. Titans RB D’Andre Swift Having prudently moved on from king Henry, the titans draft his young, cheap replacement. 30. Packers WR Laviska Shenault After Dvonte Adams, the Packers WR corps is crap. 31. 49ers CB Kristian Fulton 49ers secondary was exposed by KC, New Orleans..they attempt to address that here. 32. CHIEFS CB Bryce Hall KC will lose all but 2 Corners in FA and will need to replenish that with draft picks starting with this one.
  4. While Jones would help any team....I really do think you've got a Chris Jones/Aaron Donald on the roster with Ed Oliver. Seems like you guys could use an edge rusher
  5. Just some info for this topic. Jones is a FA, but KC isn't going to just let him walk. Both sides would like to get a deal done, but the cap may make that possibility remote at best. In the event they can't work something out, KC isn't just letting Jones walk. They will tag and trade....and probably to an NFC team in that case. Tampa Bay would right up at the top of the list in that case.
  6. It would still be Miami in the east...you can get direct flights from Miami, New York and Boston to London......not Baltimore.
  7. Alot here to get to. but first. The Chargers aren't leaving LA....their deal there is too damn sweet....even if they don't sell any tickets, they'll make money. Shad Khan, as you suggest with his investments in JAX, may well never officially relocate to London.....there are logistics, as well as legal and tax implications that complicate things...and it's a possibility that maybe they play some games in JAX and some in LONDON. Or....of course they may well stay in Jax after all said and done. Regarding the 17th game........IF they get that concession there is a TON....a staggering payload of revenue to be made by the NFL...and here is how they'd do it. ALL teams would have to play at least 1 neutral site game every year so their home/away advantage would remain equal. ......and those neutral sites would be places like Birminham, AL or Lincoln, NE....Boise, Idaho....Albequerque........so for example...Seattle VS Denver in Boise Idaho. That game sells out...at a premium price...Atlanta VS Baltimore, from Birmingham, or whereever.....again, the game will sell out...premium ticket price.....and the 17th game on the schedul is jsut that much more they can ask for in a TV deal. ....probably they'd throw in a 2nd Bye ....so that extends the season..(and TV schedule) another week....so 18 weeks of regular season TV....that's mizzzillions more in TV revenue.....and millions in extra ticket sales for regular season NFL games at neutral sites.....and of course those neutrals could also be internationals...London, Berlin, Mex City, Brazil......etc etc. China is too far....my wife is from 'nam. That trip is long and once you get into nam, getting anywehre beyond Saigon is rough. I understand what you mean about travel there.
  8. ....so the Jags are playing 2 home games in London this year. It's just the next step in them becoming the "London" Jags permanently. The reason why I posted it has more to do with Buffalo than London. I saw somewhere on the internet that when/if the Jags do make the move permanently, there will be some realignment. The NFL won't want the London Jags in the AFC south. They will want them in the AFC east with flights to/from London out of Boston, New York and Miami. The alignment I saw suggested that the AFC EAST would be : London New York New England Miami AFC SOUTH Tennessee Houston Indy Cincinnatti AFC NORTH Pittsburg Cleveland Baltimor BUFFALO. Would Bills fans accept it? Would your new and closer division rivals be compelling, or would it be crap that you lose the Patirots/Jets/Dolphins as division rivals? I can't help but think IF (I said IF...the word IF) IF it came to it....the owners would probably be able to make this happen. I don't think Mike Brown has any kind of clout to stop it....and would think the if the Pegulas protested, they might not have any allies to prevent this. Your thoughts?
  9. ......the first thing you have to do is decide if Joe Burrow is a "franchise" QB. ....IF the Bengals think that's who he is, there should not be any amount of draft capital that could be offered that you'd ever accept in exchange for that. QB is the hardest position in team sports to fill. If you can get the rare guy that lifts up everyone around him and makes you a contender year in and year out for 15 years, you don't trade that guy or his draft rights. ONLY if the Bengals evaluate Burrow and determine that he isn't that guy....then the bounty they get for that pick, plus the potential to take one of the other QB still as an option, would be smart. .....either way, the Bengals really need to be right about this pick. Think of it like this.....the Sh*t show that is the Bengals, was a winning team and was a contender when they had Carson Palmer. The right QB does that. Then look at teams that got bounties of picks they took when another team traded up for a QB.....history shows you take the QB.
  10. ....not trying to say the crowd was as good or better for this over what we had for the Royals...but in 2015 for the Royals...the estimated crowd was larger than the actual population of the city. If you haven't been to KC, the area where both of these are, can contain a very large number of people on the ground.....if all anyone, me included, had ever seen was just the Chiefs crowd.....it's a very large crowd for a city as small as KC is.....Parade estimated attendence was 800K. KC population is 455 K......and KC has the biggest sq mile city limits in the US (or is 2nd behind Jacksonville) ....I'm sure more would turn out for a Bills title.....I hope you all get a chance to attend a parade like this.
  11. Parade route for this was twice as long so a lot more people spread out....and bad weather.
  12. ...it's actually a good question.....so play is blown dead in the grasp...and well after the whistle..in the continue action, a chiefs players arm does end up coming across Jimmy G's facemask and in game action, could easily be called hands to the face......someone smarter than me on rules would have to answer...I remember seeing it in real time and wondering how that worked.
  13. That is true...but happened well after being ruled in the grasp so technically play was already dead.
  14. Not the whole line.....the tackles are good....so is it possible the metric might be something like this? 10 passing play snaps. 3 of those, the G-C-G has a fail or more than one fail. The pocket collapses quickly. 2 of those the G-C-G has a fail, but Mahomes steps up or into a safer spot in the pocket....maybe counts because he escaped and the pocket integrity was reestablished because of where he moved to. 4 of those, the G-C-G holds up, and so the tackles....as the Chiefs throw deep more than most teams..Mahomes hangs in the pocket for a good while....somewhat inflating the stat and diminishing the bad pocket time by pushing the high end time up on successful pockets. 1 snap where the OT fails and pressure comes from the edge. I'm not saying this is how they came up with that rating.....but if you'd be open to some film review, it's not a case where you have to nit pick at it to see the problem on the interior line...it's obvious to even the most untrained eye. Lastly.....even at that....they overcame the defficiency one way or another...so not complaining....just pointing out...this area was a weak spot on a good team.
  15. Clearly they won the SB....so whatever they had across the board was good enough. I'm not complaining, but that doesn't mean there aren't flaws on the team. There are. It doesn't change that KC had bad/below average interior o line (the tackles are good) It was a weakness on the team. I'll stand by it.....they overcame it. The metric you post, in bold is interesting. I'd like to know the criteria....as KC does have good tackles, so I can see a scenario where in cases that the interior line did hold up, the tackles almost certainly did as well and the aggregate would show a high rating like this. I wish I could get video to post....there is ALOT of it showing the G-C-G just completely being outmatched throughout the year. Again, they got around it and won the SB. Part of why they didn't sign Morse to a long term deal wasn't his ability....he was a far superior player at C....but his injury history made them leary to commit long term on guy who might have been another concussion or 2 away from being done. Morse is a great player and truly was a big reason why Mahomes was able to go 50/5000 in 2018 but not so much in 2019. I suppose we'll just have to disagree here. Also, the take isn't THAT unpopular in KC....it's been an issue all year.
  16. Without posting "all 22" footage of multiple plays, I'll have a hard time proving it....and that did get better once Stefan Wisneiski took over at LG this year.. You can live with him if your Guards are good. Most of the year both G were bad and even after LG was shored up, RG the DR. wasn't good. Mahomes legs are good enough to negate a lot of that...but it's been an issue all year...... I tried to attach some videos demonstrating my point, but they are too large.....so here is a link to an article on "the athletic" that explains it well. Not sure your a subscriber, ufortnuately is a paywall. https://theathletic.com/1432331/2019/12/04/chiefs-film-review-whats-wrong-with-o-line-plus-mahomes-happy-feet-solid-secondary-more/?redirected=1
  17. Mahomes doesn't prefer to drop that far back. he can....but he's at his best....like most QB, when he has a pocket or can step up in the pocket instead of backward. You see Mahomes fade back often, because KC has pure garbage for G-C-G.
  18. As many noted already....it's too early for this.....FA still to play out...the draft.....injuries in training camp so predictions a bit rough this time of year, but a few thoughts. 1. Buffalo has earned a place in this leauge where you see them on your schedule and you don't chalk that up to an automatic win...so even as the schedule at this time, appears rough for Buffalo...those teams seeing the Bills on the schedule should be considered rough as well. The Bills are a good team and tough out. 2. I have no idea how the Tom Brady saga is going to end, but here is my best guess. He resigns with the Patriots, and knowing they really are at the end, decide to break from the norm a bit and spend some money for Tom to have a few weapons. Julian Eddlemen CAN NOT be any teams No.1 WR. He isn't that guy. he's a great peice to have on a team with other weapons...he can't be THE weapon. Not having GRONK, or a TE even remotely close to resembling him, hurt bad. IF......IF Brady is back and they go out and get him a TE, and a couple more WR who are legit (like an emmanual Sanders in FA, ETC ETC) Then Belichick will be able to head to 2020 with what is still a very very good D, and an offense that might have one more good run left with Brady. In that scenario, the Bills would absolutely have to split or sweep. For the Bills, a complete dismantling of that team would obviously be best. Whatever happens there, goes a long way toward understanding the Bills prospects. 3. it has been noted that there is usually an influx of a new playoff teams from year to year.....and almost always 1 team you don't really expect. That's an interesting prospect...but one that should also concern Bills fans.....I've mentioned it before and got "boooooed" like crazy, but a young up and coming team like the Bills....are sometimes prone to an uneven ascent to being a real contender....sometimes when a good young team has a good season, and draws a somewhat stronger schedule the next year, there is a bit of a slump, even as the team continues to grow. if you are honest about it....that is a possibility for the Bills.....but let's assume that isn't the case....some here have noted that teams like the Steelers will be back in the mix when Ben comes back...so that's 1 right there that is lurking. One I don't expect back are the Titans....that formula of Tannehill and Henry only works so long...and both are FA so we don't even know if both will be back or not. I tend to think high usage RB wear down and that kind of team can be exposed in the playoffs...and problaby the regular season too. 4. Lastly....also, as mentioned prior in this thread....winning your division is the goal and getting at least one home playoff game. Winning in the playoffs is tough, and being at home helps....the Bills would have a great homefiled advantage and getting a home playoff win would be a HUGE milestone....you win one, you get Allen and the team that experience and confidence of a playoff win...it's a huge building block....not just for the next playoff game, but it's one of those big bricks you lay as the foundation of a team that is building something. Everyone else in the Bills divison plays more or less the same "tough" schedule. The Bills, at this early stage at least....look like the best team in the AFC East....the division title has to be the low end goal. ......and unrelated to the Bills....just a way too early look ahead..... KC finds itself in a somewhat similar position to the Patriots in that KC has already been dominating the AFC W since Andy Ried has been coach...KC has lost 1 division game in like 3 years or something like that...and that should continue as the Chargers, Raiders and Broncos all navigate iffy QB situations again next year.....The core of the team is under contract through 2021 more or less so they are well positioned to compete for the forseeable future. Expect KC to be back and near the top of the standings again. I expect Baltimore will continue to run their unique offense and run it well. They should be contenders and alot of them certainly remain hungry after this years dissapointment in the playoffs...I think they'll be motivated to get back. The Titans had a great run to finish off the year. I don't think Tannehills passing streak and numbers are sustainable..I do expect he'll be back in TENN, adn they'll regret overpaying for Henry, who will wear down over time. They play in the weak AFC South, so that gets them somewhere but not to the playoffs. My surprise playoff team from the AFC.....you 2020 AFC South Champion......................Jacksonville Jaguars. That team still has alot of the same parts that made them a really tough D the last few years...and Gardner Minshew won 6 games for them....they aren't dynamic on O, but among Foles and Minshew, one of those guys will be a solid QB. I think no one will have any expectations at all, and they play in the AFC south. Indy has QB issues. Tennesee..I don't see them repeating what they did...and that leave Houston. Houston has the most talent in that divison. However, I think Bill Obrien has shown he can't get a team past the divisional round of the playoffs. I think he's probalby lost the locker room, or if he hasn't...his grip on it, is hanging by a thread. They've expended a ton of draft capital and money and still can't get anywhere. They know they have a good QB, and the players are going to start tuning that guy out. I believe they implode in 2020 and miss the playoffs. AFC too early to call it playoff teams (NOTE, these aren't final predicitons for the whole season!) 1. KC 2. Baltimore 3. Buffalo 4. Jacksonville 5. Pittsburg 6. New England That's 2 new in. Houston and Tennessee out. NFC thoughts. I can see a scenario where the Niners implode. That SB loss was devastating...and they have some FA decisions to make...add that to the division they play in....the Seahawks and Rams both had winning records in 2019 and still have some punch even if LA is fightin the cap now...the core is still there. The Cardinals gave SF all they could handle in both games. Jimmy G might actually be the 4th best QB in his own division. All things combined...super bowl hangover, some FA leaving, limited by Jimmy G, tough division. The NINERS are out of the playoffs in 2020. I see a similar fate for the Packers....they won a TON of close 1 score games. That isn't sustainable. Rodgers looks like hes beginning to decline a little. They had a decent D, but have too many hole and benefitted from some breaks in the schedule etc etc. I also think the division will be tougher. The Lions were starting to look just a little scary before Stafford got hurt. The Bears.....even with Trubisky, sill have most of a strong D in tact. The Vikings have a solid deep roster. The Pack MISS THE PLAYOFFS in 2020. The Cowboys had a really wierd season....put up alot of stats on bad teams....couldn't beat good teams.....have a fairly deep roster. New coach....lots of bad teams in divison. I see them winning the division in 2020. They are back in. Part of why this is too early.....don't know what drew brees will do yet. If he's back with the Saints...they are back in....let's assume he's there. They get in. My big surprise of the NFC....teh Falcons win the NFC south. They played hard for their coach. They still have Matt Ryan. Julio....they are over their Super Bowl heartbreak and ready to compete again. I think they get it together and win the division. Detroit is my other surprise team. A healthy stafford hsa the Lions rolling and in teh mix for the NFC north title all year. NFC too early to call it playoff teams (agian, NOT my final predictions..I'll do that before the season) 1. Cowboys (thats right...they will ride an easy divison, and fresh coach to a 1 seed) 2. Falcons 3. Lions 4. Sehawks 5. Vikings 6. Saints That is 3 new teams in. SF, GB, Philly, all out. NFC is wide open next year.
  19. First....THANK YOU to everyone here at TBD for allowing me to be a part of this great fan community. I really apreciate it. SECOND. I can't think of everyone here I've ever had a great convo with, but for you guys....like @Hapless Bills Fan , @transplantbillsfan , @YoloinOhio @HappyDays ...and may others....I won't be insufferable....I want you guys to get one. You deserve it and it's as great as you'd think to get one of these damn trophys after so much dissappointment....and I know you all can relate to that. I hope Josh Allen, and the Bills keep trending upward...I'd love to see some KC/Bills playoff games...you konw Jim Kelly got us twice in the 90's! Third...please let's set the record straight...I am not Jeffismagic. I came here like a jerk 2 years ago to troll you all....and instead I got won over by a great fan base and have become a fan (even if I remain a bit skeptical of Allen) ....and lastly.... @Yav I really wish you were still living in KC....any chance you'll make it to the SB parade?
  20. I put in Mecole Hardman to score the games 1st TD.....I think at +900 figured he'll possibly get a chance to return the opening kickoff, and he's involved pretty heavily on the KC offense.....seems like a decent shot. The other substantial one was KC winning by 13-18 points +900.
  21. @YoloinOhio .....What an incredible spread! Are you smoking those burnt ends yourself? I got a brisket in the smoker right now....rubbed down with salt, pepper and garlic powder....going to pull it out after about 6 hours, chop the point into cubes and put some brown sugar in a bowl, along with some homemade KC style sauce....tomato based, a little apple cider vinegar, molasses.....Burnt ends are like candy....if beef was candy.....so freakin good. Will be drinking Boulevard Unfiltered Wheat bear...(a KC staple) The monday following the SB should be national holiday.
  22. ....You mean the No.1 Scoring D in the NFL that was also 1st in Yards against and 1st in Passing yards against? That GREAT D? The one with 3 pro bowlers in the secondary including 2 1st team All Pros? .....because the 49ers D isn't on par with that Seattle D......just so we are clear. This is how I'm seeing also..... Yes, so bad we held teams to fewer points than the....(checks notes) 49ers did this year! .....and had only 3 fewer sacks, and 4 more INTS than them....we also gave up 2 fewer passing TD than them....Allowed a LOWER passer rating against than them....but yes...KC D is pure crap. dont' forget it. KC 33 SF 19.
  23. Mahomes in his 4 post season games thus far: 89/142 62.7% for 1188 Yards passing, 7.7 YPA ....11 TD, 0 INTS 297 Yards per game. and throw in 2 rushing TD on top of that. He's not losing this game. I know that sounds biased and arrogant......but having watched every game of his career....he's a unicorn.
  24. KC by double digits. SF had ZERO sacks this year on plays where the offense used pre snap motion. KC runs ALOT of pre snap motion. SF also had the 32nd ranked red zone D in the league. KC actually gave up fewer points than the miners did this year. People talk all like this 49er D is some all time great unit. It’s not. Pat Mahomes.
