  1. Yes, big mistake in 2020. Tee Higgins was very next pick.
  2. There is a really good thread here somewhere debating that. There is video of the Bills war room when KC trades up and takes McDuffie. They all look very unhappy and even comment that KC
  3. If KC hadn't nailed the 22 draft, we wouldn't be in the SB. This was supposed to be a reset year. Alot of KC twitter and talking heads are clammoring right now about some of the preseason predictions of KC missing playoffs or barely making wild card, not winning division...but if we (KC fans) are being honest, those people weren't just basing that on nothing. KC traded Tyreek Hill Lost CB Charvarious Ward in FA (started all year for SF, played very well) Lost S Tyrann Mathieu (was making too many business decisions his last year, but still good) Lodt DT Jarran Reed (starter, didn't live up to expectations in KC anyhow) Lost EDGE Melvin Ingram Lost MLB Anthony Hitchens (I say lost here, but he sucked, but was the starter at MLB) Lost RB Darrell Williams (was teams leading rusher in '21 and led in Rushing TD with 6) Lost CB Mike Hughes (started 6 games) Lost S Dan Sorenson (another who I say lost, but was glad to see go) Lost WR Byron Pringle (3rd on team with 5 TD catches 5th in recptons with 42) Everyone talks about losing Tyreek but KC churned the roster A LOT. It's understandable to think a team losing this much starting experience and production, would struggle. It's also notable KC nailed the draft in 21 also. Traded the 1 for Orlando Brown (who isn't that good, but he's better than what KC had heading into 2021, wich was nothing at all at OT) 2nd Creed Humphrey - All Pro Center 6th Trey Smith - Starting guard 2nd NIck Bolton - Starting LB (and is good) 5th Noah Gray - solid contributor at TE KC also got 2 key starters from 2020 - 2nd LB Willie Gay 4th CB LaJarious Snead 10 high quality, CHEAP, starters from the last 3 drafts, but the 2022 draft is the hallmark. On top of this, KC did NOT restructure Mahomes this year to kick money down the road, they ate the entire 36 mil cap, which only helps later on. That's how you stay on top when your QB cap hits start getting big. KC's FA signings have been decent also. I'm not bragging. I am posting this to demonstrate that the Bills are going to need to do better drafting as Allens cap hits now start to take up a big chunk.
  4. I agree with the OP. This stuff matters. but I want to put another spin on it...and if this has been brought up in another thread(s) forgive me...I haven't read through them all here. Damar happening didn't help. Like everyone, I am so happy he lived and is alive but adding that to a all the other emotially draining events of this season was too much...and here is why I tihink so. The Bills already had the minor burden of being the odds on favorite to advance to and win the SB in the preseason and your hot start did nothing but add fuel to that fire. When it became clear that Demar was going to live and recover....from the outside looking in, it seemed like that was supposed to almost automatically propel the Bills to the SB....like that whole sequence of Damar dying and living meant that the Bills were all but a foregone conclusion to win it all becaue it surely had to be their destiny and now there was this insirational figure and story added to it... So in my opinion, the emotial lift from that was basically the kickoff return VS the Pats and then after that, the burden of delivering on all the expectations and fulfilling the destiny that the story says you will....that's pressure. ...add in that a narrative developed that you benefitted from not playing the conclusion of that game...that's alot.
  5. Fun stat - The last first time NFL Head Coach with a DC background to win a Super Bowl was Mike Tomlin in 2008 season. 5 non defensive first time Head coaches have won a superbowl since then. Also of note, In the entire history of the NFL, for ALL 56 Super Bowls..... No Head Coach and QB combo who had been together more than 5 years without a Super Bowl, ever made it to one, let alone win one. ....so if your coach and QB are together 5 years and you don't have a Super Bowl together, you aint getting one. None of that is encouraging for McDermott / Allen.
  6. Here is the main problem. (the other problem is that your defense plays worse in playoff games than it's regular season ranking says it should) I don't really need to go over every single Beane draft pick. They aren't all bad, but somehow Beane did the same thing KC did a few years ago. Drafted a bunch of D players and RB. ignored O line. It's not too late to fix as you now head into Allens high cap hits, but the good drafting has to start NOW. After KC completely screwed the pooch in the 2018 draft (just flat out awful draft for KC) they have gotten better up to and including all 10 drafted players making the team this season and having 4 of those start, and 4 more of them play major snaps. Only the 7th round S and the 5th rd OT/OG didn't play. The Bills need to get something similar going. If you do, you will still be competing for titles.
  7. Love the irony here. the regular season is a grind and players get hurt and it pushes the season further into winter so let’s: play even more games and push it even further into winter.
  8. I warned you not to read it. That's on you.
  9. ***WARNING*** If you don't want to read a Chiefs fan then skip the post. 1. As long as Josh Allen is healthy, you do have a a chance to win a SB. He's that kind of player. 2. Last years loss was worse. If you win last year in KC, you are hosting Cincy. Cincy wasn't quite as good this year as last and Buffalo was better last year. I'd say you likely win that AFCCG in Buffalo and go on to face a very very beatable Rams team in the SB. (it's also painful that KC coudln't finish off the Bengals at home last year, missed oppertunity for us as well) This year, injuries, bad weather, a guy dying on the field.....your players have got to be emotionally completely spent. You guys must be emotionally exhausted as fans. It was going to be tough to keep getting up for all this. With the injuries and everything that happened, this loss sucks but at least understandable. 3. KC was all in LAST season, similar to the Bills. KC used up the cap, kicked contracts down the road, trying to get one more with the core. It didn't work and led to the Tyreek Hill trade and a big reset. KC got the cap right and didn't kick anymore Mahomes money down the road. ....what you'll need to stay up at the top is get a couple really good drafts back to back. It can be done. KC had all 10 picks make the team, and 4 started all year and a couple others played a ton of snaps. You'll need that kind of thing going on....and you'll end up this offseason parting with some guys you may or may not really want to part with. Don't fret....you have the QB... last....sorry you guys didn't win today. I was looking forward,.....and have been looking forward to another KC - Bills Allen Mahomes playoff game. I know you all were too. Surely more are coming. Hopefully next year. GO BILLS! (my favorite team when they aren't playing KC)
  10. .....As long as Josh Allen is healthy, the Bills are a contender.
  11. TM has paused the sale to KC STM for some reason.
  12. I just got an email saying they are still working to get STH for KC and BUF tickets....any presale info will come out later.
  13. Hotel and flight from DFW booked. I'll see you there Bills Mafia!
  14. This looks like it could be a situation where you offer AZ a higher pick in exchange for them to eat some of D Hops salary. AZ has the space to do it...if they are going to do a mini rebuild it might be worth it for them to obtain the picks.
  15. They did a couple years ago, but not this past year.....which is huge. KC was able to eat a whole 35 million dollar hit for 2022. So, the reaason why this is a big deal. KC already vied 2022 as a cap reset year ...so when all 11 draft picks made the team and many started and contributed that's been HUGE and it's even a bigger deal becasue KC went forward with no restructure for Mahomes in 2022 and took on the 35 mil cap hit. His cap hit in 2023 is 46 mil.....and even with that being the case...KC still NOW has 28 mil in cap space. AND...Frank Clark will be cut saving an additional whopping 20 million more, AND there is a decent chance they cut MVS, saving another 7 million. Having those draft picks essentially hit means KC can do some stuff in 2023....or could possibly leave Mahomes number alone again. The more they can absord as we go, the more that is free later. This is both WHY and HOW a team with a franchise QB can and should be a SB contender every season. The Bills don't have to tear it down or make hard choices just yet but a time is coming soon when you have to get that cap straightened out some OR kick until you can't kick anymore and eat a whole season or 2 getting it all right again. The best part is these are 1 st world problems for the teams that have the Franchise QB...much better to be working this stuff out than wondering where your next QB is coming from, the coaches, FO, and so on.
  16. It's also not determined by h2h tiebreakers when you don't finish tied. one of those games could have been the Bills game. Then you lose the tiebreaker. This place would melt down. one of those games could have been the Bengals game.....talk about completely screwing the Bengals..KC would get the 1 outright....Cincy would get an L and thus lose any shot they had at better seeding period. THey'd also have lost the division title. This was not a good solution and rightly was not considered. Also, lets say the game that doesn't count for KC is Seattle. That game off the board for Seahawks would have meant Packers and Lions instantly eliminated before week 18. That whole idea was bad.
  17. Chargers @ JAX ....Jacksonville went to LA and destroyed the Chargers in the regular season. I know that doesn't mean a whole lot as each game is independent, LAC are a little healthier now, but that may also have been JAX best game of the year. It will also be Herbert AND Lawerence's playoff debut. Don't know if one or the other has jitters. It's not a forgone conclusion that the Chargers advance. May well be JAX.
  18. The Steelers are 7-2 this season when they have TJ Watt playing. They still should be an "easy" out but maybe not as easy as some might think.
  19. IF the Bills tank the Pats game, and lose....and then if KC and BIlls in AFCG, that game would NOT be at nuetral site. It would be in KC.
  20. Horrible horrible idea. 1. In college, where the tradition of ALL postseason play for over 100 years was through the bowl system, which has always been nuetral sites...works for college playoffs because it's already established. College fans have been going to "post season" bowl games since football began basically. 2. The NFL makes most their money on TV deals so I can not understand how they would monetize a nuetural site confercene title game more than they do just having it played in the 1 seed stadium. 3. Most NFL stadiums have a great deal of tax payer funding involved in them, and you can bet governors, senators and congresspeople, mayors etc...wouldn't take it well that for example, if the Bills, who now have a very good team, that can expect to play home playoff games, went to Atlanta for conference title games that might otherwise be in Western NY....the folks who are funding your new stadium might be slightly PISSED off. ...as would most folks with civic concerns in their teams locations. 4. Home championship games are great for the fans, and the cities that host...extra revenue for food, hotels, all that. media attention and so on. Also...kind of related, kind of not. with 17 games...OR when something like a storm, or other extraordinary circumstances come up...we have some really big college venues that could host. Rose Bowl, Michigan, Notre Dame, Husker Stadium, and so on - **** The NFL ought to consider a series of games played at college stadiums where the teams with 9 homes games can pick a venue and host a game. **** Denver VS Seattle on the blue field at Boise State for example.....or Bears VS Colts at South Bend. Maybe Jets VS Giants at West Point. Chiefs Vikings from Huskers stadium... Bills Eagles at Happy Valley? The possibillities are there. Kind of like the NHL doing the games outside in certain stadiums.
  21. Renfro is one of those dudes who is really good, that looks like he wouldn't even be first string grounds crew on a minor leauge baseball team ground crew.
  22. ....that wasn't helmet to helmet.
  23. I agree....would have disrupted a ton of plans, people...venues may not have been available in some places teh following week and so on. ...and so here we are.
  24. no, of course not. Just whenever it would have been appropriate...like today. Should have had Cincy Bills conclusion today and moved all week 18 games back 1 week..but they didn't. So given that...I don't know exactly what else they could have done.
