Gabe not practicing today...

Interesting. I just took a quick look at their catch rate. I know Kenny has had issues with drops over his time. Always seemed to kill us on 9 routes when he was with the Dolphins, so never really saw him as a nuanced wideout. Good stuff! -

A lot of people will see this as a pessimistic take. However, Stills' biggest downfall are his hands. That said, he is on par with Davis in that sense so I dont see it as a major downgrade, aside from the size of the player. -

Good representation of a team being ingrained in your actual being. I've tried to find a team in hockey, basketball, and baseball but while I watch the games its not the way it is with the Bills. They arent part of my existence in the same way. No shame in shedding a few tears. Just blame it on the cold freezing your eyeballs to the point where all the water leaks out. -

Exactly why the saying "Its just a game" doesnt apply. People who say that dont really understand. -

Great now we have exactly 3.5 days to get the stink of Jets JuJu off the team. -
Not sure what to do. We did a Nacho Bar for the Colts game. Chicken Popper Soup for the Ravens. Feel like going to ole faithful and doing Pizza, Wings, and Labatts from a place called Roadies in Albion, but dont want to jinx the Bills by doing something normal this week.

My father was a Raiders fan, but he taught me everything he knew about football. Can still remember sitting in a car with him waiting for my Mom to get done grocery shopping, and him telling me stories about Jack Tatum. We watched Bills game together every Sunday because he couldnt get Raiders games locally then. I grew into a huge Bills fan at a young age. Vividly remember watching 51-3 with him, the phone ringing every time the Bills scored, his friends on the other end giving him crap about the Raiders losing so badly. I think I've mentioned it here before, but my Dad passed away when I was 10. He coached my little league sports, played basketball with me every chance he got, and to this day is one of the best friends I've ever had in my life. Had my Mom, Sister, Brother and their families over for the Colts game. We had an amazing time cheering on the Bills, halfway through the game my Mom said "Your Dad would have loved this!" The Bills have become one of the ties that binds my family together and I am so thankful for this year, and the memories it has helped to make. Jeremy and Howard were taking about the article this morning, and mentioned a tweet he got in response to it from a local fan "When my Dad was in Hospice one of the last conversations we had was about whether Josh was going to be a franchise QB or not. Thats how much we all love Bills football" the guy's brother chimed in "Thank God Dad was wrong lol!" For the more sentimental among us check out Lieutenant Colonel Patrick Miller's tweet about Bills Fans who are no longer with us. All of us have one. Didnt see this posted when I searched for it. Mods please delete if this is a repost. Seen alot of really cool stories about Bills fans and family or friends they've lost prior to the playoff run. Here is Jeremy White's very nice read about his mother. Family and Football Sure it’s sports, but it’s so much more, right? Everywhere we turn we’re hearing stories of "Bills Mafia" and the family feel that this fanbase shares so strongly. So here’s my story... Saturday will mark the first complete year of my life, without my mother, Marianne. On Jan. 23, 2020, she was killed suddenly, in a car accident. The days that followed were a complete whirlwind. The shock of the sudden loss, the daily visits to an ICU in Rochester to visit her partner, Paul, the passenger in her car that survived, planning a funeral, and... I mean... so, so much.

A sense of calm this week...

Same boat. Not sure what it is but I've had the feeling since Sunday night that Elite Josh is coming to KC. I just havent felt as on edge as I did, especially about the Ravens. That said, your feelings will let you down. I was young when the Super Bowl teams played, so I think I took for granted what a grind getting even to this point of the NFL Season is. I think someone said it above, but there is no guarantee the Bills will ever be back in this spot, so lets hope it goes very well! -

Phillip Rivers retiring
thenorthremembers replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree to a point. His numbers are more in the Marino range when talking about players with no rings. I think he will get in before those big stat guys retire and are considered. He may not be first ballot, but should get in on the 2nd or 3rd try. -

He should be in the Hall of Fame. Top five in both passing yards and touchdowns, more than Marino and Elway in both categories. -
Yeah I dont get it either. So many more ways to save money than cutting good players. Thats the Whaley way of doing things, and over time it gets you in cap jail. I think it makes a lot more sense to draft well, and then move players when its clear the younger players are better. In the case of Brown and Morse, they dont have better players, so the millions they may save isnt equal to the impact of having less talent on your team. The smarter way of doing things is restructuring existing contracts to free up cap space. With guys like Hyde coming up on the last year of his contract the Bills would be better off extending him, and moving more of his contract into 2022 and 2023 when the cap is higher. Thank God we have an intelligent group in the front office now.

You resign both Feliciano and Williams, and let Boettger and Ford compete for the LG spot. Boettger is a RFA this year, so you get him back on a cheap contract and use whoever loses the competition as your swing guard. To date Ford has shown absolutely no ability to play RT in the NFL. If he cant beat out a guy who was on the practice squad at one point for the LG spot, he sits his butt on the bench until his contract is up.

Didnt seem to change much tonight.

Brees officially retiring post June 1st will save them 25 million. I think what you'll see is a lot of teams adding years to current players contracts and moving a lot of the money to the later years where the cap is higher. I fully expect the Bills to reup Diggs, Hughes, and Hyde this offseason. Resigning Feliciano, Williams, and Milano but then paying less of their contracts in the 1st year. Williams should be somewhere around 4/40million, but expect him to only get 5 the first year with a higher roster bonus. The Saints have some work to do, but they will get there, teams always do. Look at KC.
