  1. Know this is a popular move, but it doesn't move the needle much for me. Decent player who adds speed to the roster, but I also can see him as a guy who is deactivated on game days. Good level two free agent who could add to the team but its a crowded room especially with Jones on the roster for special teams.
  2. Hate is a strong word, but NFL players for the most part are business savvy. Lamar has a very hard time throwing outside the hash, it's been that way since college and the Ravens aren't forcing him to develop. He is a good football player who is limited as a passer. Its a tight end driven offense, and wideouts wont get the shine if they go there. Agree, with what one of you said above. Hollywood Brown is an incredibly talented wideout who is being wasted there.
  3. I imagine they got him pretty cheap. Had more sacks than any other DE on our roster last year. Still relatively young, and has upside. I'd say its a decent signing, Carolina or not.
  4. That tells me two things: A. The Jets havent received a decent offer for Darnold B. The Jets think the combination of Darnold and a rookie is better than what they can get in free agency. There is absolutely no way the Jets dont pick a Quarterback at #2. Darnold will start the year if he can beat out the rookie, and will be a free agent next year.
  5. Cool stat. 8-18.as a stater. 11 touchdowns and 10 ints in 14 games last year.
  6. He'll look great picking off Danny Dimes in practice. Not sure about the regular season when he faces good qbs though.
  7. Not a great draft for pass rushers. Rather them just draft the BPA at 30, and then try to fill needs in later rounds.
  8. Agreed. Really like the move. Watching tape of Allen's junior year Hollister pops big time. I know he hasn't been a superstar since being in the league, but he has decent hands and brings good athleticism with him. He also didnt cost a draft pick.
  9. Watkins immaturity and lack of effort while he was here is something he admitted himself. It's not my opinion its reality. There are two very well written Tyler Dunne articles about Sammy that outline that he was more interested in partying while he was here than he was playing football. See below. https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2749319-sammy-watkins-dropped-the-diva-attitude-and-got-his-career-back-on-track-in-la https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2889029-what-sammy-watkins-believes So yes, I am telling you signing Watkins wouldnt improve the WR roster because improving the roster goes beyond just adding talent. Thankfully our front office understands that well.
  10. Your opinion on why he may come back Ill leave alone because like you said its your opinion. But he was traded out of here for more than the need for draft picks. The guy wasnt a culture fit. He has proven throughout his career that he is a me first guy. To say he was only traded for the need of draft picks is a discredit to Mcdermott and his staff. They watched the tape and saw he was a loafer who didnt play hard. Its why his immense talent never translated to success. Now for my opinion, he is an immature guy who only plays football for the money. I dont think he loves it. He falls in the category of should have been great but doesnt care enough to be. He has essentially stole money from teams since he has been in the league. He is such a non factor that I can barely recall where he was traded to. I dont think the guy is long for the league.
  11. What does this guy have on Beane?
  12. I was looking over their roster yesterday. You're exactly correct, mish mash. Just trying to put talented players on the team without any sort of feel for organization.
  13. You have a tight end on the roster currently who may be entering that exact window. Otherwise go get Rudolph because Ertz at 31 is not worth anything more than a 4th.
  14. Lets be fair, Gronk's best football was a lot better than Ertz's best football. Could we use them, yes, I agree. What I dont want to do is give up money and picks in either case.
  15. Agree. Too many good tight ends in the draft to spend much needed draft picks on a 31 year old tight end with his best football behind him.
  16. Agree on the Chiefs oline, but its only in theory right now. The dismantling has to pay off. They signed two very good guards, but still need tackles. I was very surprised they didn't move on from Addison and Butler, but I wasn't overly impressed with the Free Agent pass rushers either. Free Agents tend to get this sort of narrative behind them because they are new and exciting, but you also have to remember they are available for a reason. It's important to use free agency to supplement. Hopefully they can find an edge rusher in the draft!
  17. I think he'd be a great pickup. I also think it's ok to be patient on running backs with Drake, Fournette, Bell and Chris Carson all still unsigned. The longer you wait the better the deal.
  18. Now go back and look how those teams got to the Championship in the first place. It wasnt by winning games 17-10.
  19. If all positions were equal I'd agree with you. Teams around us have gotten better, teams who are in a completely different phase of building than the Bills. There is a reason they had the money to make moves. If we are being honest we'd say teams that didnt make the playoffs last year have gotten better. And getting better just means they've added players to try and get to the level the Bills are already at. When you look at the playoff teams from last year, tell me how the Colts, Steelers, Browns, Ravens, Titans and Chiefs have gotten better during free agency? McDermott said it after the AFC Championship, the Chiefs are further along in their program than the Bills are. Meaning, they know this is about long term growth of the core of the team. Not pieces they are going to go out and hire. The sad reality is the Bills will need to draft well and hope Josh gets to the level where he can go toe to toe with Mahomes.
  20. Absolutely nothing, but its not as fun. Thats what all of the whining is about. People had high expectations for free agency, despite it not being logical and when their expectations werent met, because they never could be, they got sad. Too many people in their emotions.
  21. I love how mad people get when the Bills dont go out and sign a bunch of players. Lets be honest, your anger has nothing to do with whether you think the team is going to be good, it has everything to do with you being bored. If you find yourself angry about free agency you need to do yourself a favor and take a breather from message boards and social media for awhile. Whether the Bills sign Carl Lawson or not, or if the inane rumors about Khalil Mack coming to Buffalo impact your mood that much its time for a much needed time out. If you have to be doing something Football related, go back and watch Josh Allen highlights you'll be reminded the team just went 13-3 and has a Franchise Quarterback for the first time in close to 30 years.
  22. Chung has other business to tend to.
  23. Yes I advocate scoring more points than the other team. The Bills spent too many years trying to not mistakes on offense, and play good defense. It doesn't work and you have years of evidence to prove my point. What works is scoring a lot of points. When you say it doesn't work certain teams like KC, you're making the point about one team out of 32. It doesnt always work against KC because they are smart, they also try to score more points than the other team. The bottom line is winning a championship are insufferably hard to start with, but when you try to win one by playing defense you make it ten times harder on yourself. 17 of the last 20 Superbowls have been won by Hall of Fame, or future Hall of Fame Quarterbacks. Those teams didn't win because they were able to cover Tight Ends, they won because they had the better player behind center on that day.
  24. I wish I could. These threads are tough because you cant look away but they also kill the enjoyment when the signing or trade actually happens.
