  1. 1. We were down in the 2nd half and had to throw the ball more. 2. We had a lot of first and 20's so there was a lot more need to throw further 3. 10 yards or more is a pretty low bar - not exactly like he is heaving it downfield
  2. Why do you design a play to cause maye to go to his strong right side? Against a rookie playing his 1st snaps Why not force him to his weaker left side
  3. It gave the Patriots extra time which almost gave them the touchdown from the 1 He did same thing against dolphins and gave them time to score a TD instead of settling for a FG I get that he wants to give us time if we get ball back, but it is a DEFINITE that you give the other team more time and only a POSSIBILITY that it will benefit us. At the end of a game maybe, but NOT in the first half
  4. ... and raise the crossbar Teams generally start at the 30 so only need 30 yards to get to field goal range
  5. Was after 2 minute warning so dont think challengeable But should have insisted on both review
  6. A few other random observations 1. On the diggs catch at end of first half where he had his feet just on the line and fell out of bounds. It looked to me like the ground helped him maintain possession. We couldn't challenge because was within last 2 minutes. Anyone else think that it shouldn't have been a catch? 2. I think the league needs to be stricter with calling intentional grounding. There were 2 or 3x last night where Maye was falling to the ground and flicked the ball away just before hitting the ground. The ball was never more than a few feet off the ground and landed many yards before a receiver who was not even looking for the ball. If not a real attempt at a completion it should be a penalty. Thoughts? 3. The Khalil drop on the last drive had one other major impact that I did not see mentioned. Aside from the obvious implications of losing potential yardage, it stopped the clock. Had he stayed in bounds, time would have run which would have left NE with less time to March down the field. Maybe we should have run cook on 1st down to ensure positive yardage and take time off the clock. Mcd is so concerned at end of 1st half to use timeouts in case we get the ball back. He should have considered the opposite scenario when we are on offense
  7. 1. How do we not have better contain to prevent maye from rolling to his right. Make him go left or stay in the pocket 2. The INT was a horrible decision by Josh. Receiver was not close to being open 3. McD has to stop using his timeouts when we are on defense at end of first half. The stoppage provided miami enough time to score a TD instead of a FG. The pats were a dropped pass away from getting a TD instead of a FG due to our clock management 4. This game shows the value of a true #1 receiver. diggs destroyed us On the positive side, even with all the penalties, mistakes and turnovers we were one tackle away from winning or OT On the really negative side, Maye looks like the complete package and vrabel is a good coach. Patriots will be competition for the foreseeable future
  8. They can both "wonder" and "wander"!
  9. 14 of the 45 people (including me) lost out on the cardinals The two crazy plays - dropping the ball on the inch line before scoring TD and fumble recovery for TD after INT - turned a blowout into a loss
  10. how would he do as the racehorse? beat me to it = (on the assumption that curling is a sport!
  11. Agreed. Why do they have to use "fake" uniforms? Does the league forbid the use? or it would cost too much to get a license to use? You mean it isn't?
  12. As a kid, I seem to remember Spike Jones the punter "swallowing his tongue" as a result of getting hit (it really freaked me out) I googled it but could not find it Anyone else have this recollection? https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/J/JoneSp20.htm
  13. Cardinals (already used Commanders, Ravens, Bills, and Lions)
  14. So far this year: Knox 4 catches / 39 yards / 0 TD -> $578,000 per catch Hawes 4 catches / 54 yards / 1 TD -> $70,000 per catch
  15. Eagles 2 or 4 Tix: $550 Each Jets Up to 8 Tix: $450 Each No Fees unless you want paypal goods and services fee Go Bills!
  16. Sometimes a timeout is worth more than 5 yards - this is one aspect that analytics or coaches do NOT consider When there is a potential delay of game, QB's frequently call time out. Is that there much of a difference between e.g. a 2nd and 3 and a 2nd and 8 to waste a timeout that can be game altering at the end
  17. I remember listening to that game on the radio while in chestnut ridge park
  18. That Jets game was the 1st regular season game I attended! Namath was 19 of 43 with 4 TD's and 5 Int's. Might be a record for most TD and Int's in one game We had 3 long pick six's! Bills Tom Janik 100 yard interception return (Bruce Alford kick) 7-17 Bills Butch Byrd 53 yard interception return (Bruce Alford kick) 21-30 Bills Booker Edgerson 45 yard interception return (Bruce Alford kick) 21-37
  19. That would be scary but that's what makes them the Browns!
  20. Every team could use a Derrick Henry type of RB!
  21. I agree that it could have cost us the game. In that situation, especially on a run, you have to do everything to ensure you don't even come close to a hold
  22. 1. Kincaid had very good game 2. Hawes had a TD and good blocking 3. No drops for Knox (of course, no catches either!)
