  1. On 8/1/81, MTV aired the very first music video: "Video Killed the Radio Star", by The Buggles: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Video_Killed_the_Radio_Star I was also born that day, in Rochester, NY, to a middle class family whose father had played sports in high school. As the first child, I was encouraged to play sports, and football was the only sport with a national team nearby. I naturally loved the Bills, and cried at each Super Bowl loss. I never ended up being a radio star. The Bills still have not won a Super Bowl. I am still a Bills fan. End of transmission.
  2. Spot on: Oliver's brother went to Houston, and Oliver followed him. It's a cool story, actually. He turned down some major offers to do so. Says something good about the kid's character, if you ask me.
  3. Oh yeah, I mean look at how he botched the comp pick formula by signing all those free agents this year! Now how are we supposed to get comp picks? Isn't that how you win in the NFL? We're doomed... At least that's what I read, here.
  4. To be fair, Darnold seems a bit more manish than the little whimpering patsie who works hard on his cookbooks in the offseason.
  5. I concur. Only way I see this not happening? 1) If Simmons is there at 9, we take him. 2) If we drop to 15, and Wilkins is there, we take him, and pray we can package extra picks to move up and draft Hock, too (I would J in my P for a week, if this happened). (For those who don't know the reference, it is NSFW, so look up J in my P on YouTube. Don't say I didn't warn ya).
  6. Glad you and AB had that nice little fireside chat, and he told you all the details.
  7. Yeah, I'm not 100% that it's true, either. Just posting because some might find it interesting. If it falls through, more anti-Rapoport fodder. If true, it's good info. Either way, can't hurt to share.
  8. I'm going out on a limb to say we'll win two games next year ??
  9. I believe both of my statements were hedged bets, at most: "2018 hasn't panned out fully, yet. Teller has potential, but we aren't sure what he will be. Taron Johnson looks like gold, and Neal I'm on the fence over. 2018's 5th round could end up producing a stud and two starters." And I said I was on the fence over Neal... I'm not sure if you're trying to make an argument, but there's really not one to be made here. I said the jury's out on 2018, but we can't look to the past regimes' drafts to indicate how successful this regime will be at finding diamonds in the rough in the 4th and 5th round. We clear?
  10. I like the logic, here, @racketmaster, but I think we need more time to judge the value of this regimes' 4th and 5th round picks. The 2017 draft had Whaley's stench on it, so that's hard to argue over; you almost have to toss it out as a partial-past regime draft. 2018 hasn't panned out fully, yet. Teller has potential, but we aren't sure what he will be. Taron Johnson looks like gold, and Neal I'm on the fence over. 2018's 5th round could end up producing a stud and two starters. Thanks for the reference of past years, though; it's good to consider.
  11. No. You're right. The Patriot Way is finding new methods for breaking the rules and getting away with it. They will get another pick because Bob Kraft will get off with a wrist slap, because none of the holding penalties against Hughes were called vs the Pats, because...
  12. Part of me agrees. Another part of me thinks back to last year's draft, when people all balked at Sony Michel's "bone-on-bone" knees. And he dropped... to the Cheats. And just how did that work out for Bellicheat? Pretty damn well. Rings talk, and Michel was a big part of their late-season ground-and-pound that ate clock while Mahomes and Goff rode the pine, waiting to see the field. I'm just saying, Bryce Love's injury might drop him, but his Jr year, he was sheer magic. Might be worth a 4th.
