I might be in the minority but I’m out on Poyer. I just think it’s time to turn the page on this defense. Get someone young and athletic next to Hyde. We’re pretty well set at CB. Figure out LB and perhaps shake up the DL with an Oliver trade. With the literal DC and de facto leader of the Defense both gone, it’s time to turn the page. Furthermore, it’s time to make sure Josh Allen goes into ‘23 with an average to above average OL and weapons on par with Burrow/Mahomes.

Its 1.9M this year, but yea….

I honestly can’t believe this is still going on. Im actually starting to respect him for it. One of those “this is so annoying….. ok, it’s kinda funny now” type of things.
-
Statistically? Nope. Also don’t care. Looking forward to Beane, hopefully using that earmarked Edmunds money to help Josh Allen. Also hoping we trade Oliver to better allocate his 10M. That still leaves enough talent to be a middle of the pack Defense (assuming McDermott earns his keep as a Defensive HC) and then when Von gets back in the swing of things, we have our big playmaker in the post season.

McGovern is 4M. Matakevich about 2M. Martin probably around 2M. Lewis likely minimal. If that’s what Poyer wants, then yea, he won’t be here. Given the league signed a ton of defensive guys today, and he wasn’t one of them, have to imagine his price is coming down.
-
They, of course, do… that said, the playoffs are what matter and it’s been painfully obvious that the defense was constantly overrated and/or not able to perform when it matters. Also, for all the regular season success, how many 1 seeds? The defense, for all it’s investment, let us down. Im glad we seem to be turning the page on that group.
-
Yup. And Matakevich is around 1.9M. Cam Lewis is probably peanuts. Not sure about Sam Martin’s cap hit.
-
Could absolutely do that. Poyer would only be back on a team friendly deal. David won’t be a bank breaker at his age. Jeudy is on a rookie contract. Backload the OL cap hit.
-
Maybe a Day 2 pick.. Young All Pro LB on a solid multi-year contract.
-
Bills could have easily traded Milano for a decent pick and then paid Edmunds. I think they just value Milano more.
-
Would love to see this. Good player. Could use the money this year and we have zero DT’s under contract for next year. Id actually be surprised if this didn’t happen.

Don’t think this is really “for” anyone. These two moves were always baked into the cake for ‘23. Now with Edmunds moving on, I think the Bills have 1-2 big moves coming that we otherwise couldn’t have done. If we restructure anyone else, cut someone or trade Oliver… then I’ll start to throw the eye emoji around.

Looking at our options to rebuild the o-line in 2023

Im going to go ahead and say I doubt this is true. I mean, it is, but not in a way that’s applicable to the guy we signed. -
Every time this thread gets bumped I’m hoping to see a link when I open it.
