  1. Agreed, but that’s my point. A lot of people see Miami with Hill/Waddle and say welp, better load up on corners now, but it doesn’t matter if we have 2 Tre Whites out there at corner… Hill has to be defended differently whether you have Ramsey, White or a RD4 rookie.
  2. Highly doubt that dude is remotely credible but I don’t love that trade unless we feel we can flip Pick 6 for (at least) someone’s 1 and 2 this year. Not sure I want to trade Diggs, basically straight up, for someone like Sauce Gardner, Garret Wilson, Kayvon Thibodeaux etc., unless we know Diggs contract will be an issue.
  3. Im simply operating under compare/contrast with Diggs and our high picks vs traded picks for him and cap space from him. Yea, I’m good with an offense that looks like this: Allen/Keenum Dawkins/Doyle Saffold/Bates Morse/Bates Kinnard/Bates Brown/Doyle Dotson/McKenzie Olave/Crowder Davis/Kumerow Knox/Howard Walker/Singletary/Johnson With Gilmore at CB2 on an absolutely loaded defense. *Diggs is not Hill. We’re not losing a guy who changes the entire dynamics in the history of NFL of how you defend someone. Diggs is elite, he’s not never before seen. We were VERY aware of Tyreek Hill in the Playoffs game and still couldn’t stop him.
  4. I’ll assume we’re matching Bates offer sheet either way for argument sake.. I would not be worried if Diggs/25/57 turned into say.. WR Jahan Dotson (25) WR Chris Olave (Diggs Pick) OG Darian Kinnard (57) RB Kenneth Walker (89 + Diggs Return) CB Stephon Gilmore (Diggs cap space)
  5. Diggs helps. Weapons help. One of the weapons doesn’t need to be Diggs, although most of us hope one is. I think you’re shortchanging Allen… a lot. Look at that KC game. Sure, Diggs helps open up Davis, but so could a Jameson Williams, Chris Olave, Jahan Dotson etc… or Davis open things up for them. Diggs was a huge move to help Allen in his growth from a raw QB with all the talent in the world, to perhaps the best QB in the world. That being said, it has way more to do with Allen’s talent/work ethic than it does Stefon Diggs. You need an OL and weapons. If we were to trade Diggs, I’d advocate using our 25 AND the highest pick we get back from the trade on WR’s. Re-sign Bates. Use our RD2 on OL. Maybe even use our third, plus the extra pick(s) from the Diggs trade in a trade up for a high impact RB. Use the freed up Diggs money on Gilmore or Bradberry.
  6. The only way we should ever even contemplate drafting a RB this high is if they are a burner with good running instincts/vision, strong in pass pro and most importantly.. are a fluid, elite weapon in the passing game. Essentially a counter to the two high safety look. I have no idea if Breece Hall is that, but the only way I’m drafting him in RD1, is if he is a guy who’s catching 4-5 passes per game from Allen and making teams pay in the open field.
  7. The Von Miller move could potentially pay dividends beyond just what he brings to the table himself. We currently have a Year 3 DE, Year 2 DE and another Year 2 DE. When you’re drafting EDGE in the late 1st/2nd Round, it’s similar to the TE position.. they typically take a few years to develop. That means we are now expecting Rousseau, Basham and Epenesa to start becoming the players we hope they will be now. What better way to maximize the chances of that happening than by putting them into an entire off-season with Von Miller in the room with them day in/day out. This move doesn’t just give us an elite pass rusher for, hopefully, the next 3 years.. it also gives us the best chance of developing his replacement(s) down the line.
  8. I completely get the idea of upgrading the CB room. Bradberry is intriguing. What I don’t get is people using Miami as a reasoning. Even when healthy, and if we get Bradberry. You can’t just put White on Hill and Bradberry on Waddle. That offense is going to be a different animal with all their speed.
  9. Pretty sure there’s a graphic somewhere on this board that shows we need about 2.1M currently.
  10. Not even bothered. Let Brady go to Miami and finish his career in embarrassment when he doesn’t make the Playoffs. They’ll be shooting their shot by trading away their entire future for an attempted run with Brady and Hill.
  11. I agree with you. It’s not dangerous to do it once in a while during this decade+ window we have with Josh Allen. We decided to pull the trigger on doing it with Von Miller. It’s very manageable and doesn’t mortgage the future. Start trading high picks, backloading multiple contracts etc., and that’s how you start running into problems down the road. That being said, we likely have one “get out of jail” free card with a restructure of the Josh Allen 43M AAV contract. It already looks like a bargain and the extension hasn’t even kicked in yet. This off-season we’ve seen 50M per for Rodgers and 46M per for Watson. In 2-3 years, 50M+ AAV contracts will likely be the norm for anyone even close to Allen’s caliber.
  12. A 4th and I’m all for it. Go WR & OL in the first two rounds, then take a CB in RD3 to learn behind White/Bradberry and compete for CB2 next year when we clearly won’t be able to afford re-signing Bradberry. A 3rd RD pick gets a little pricey for a one year rental. Not saying no, but that’s a tough pill to swallow.
  13. Id honestly put Knox as the priority of the 3, but yea, I’m sure it can get done and keep all of them… where we’d need to get creative is to keep Edmunds (which I don’t care, but I believe our FO very much would attempt to get done).
  14. If we can do it without losing Knox & Oliver, ok. This team is basically “as is” for the next 3 years, plus draft picks and some rearranging of one year deal guys. Ill admit that I’m not entirely comfortable paying him that money though.. As I said earlier, and it may be a function of our offense, I haven’t seen him take over games like the other elite WR’s. When’s the last time he’s done that?.. Steelers two years ago?
  15. Whenever something like this happens, we want to convince ourselves we are better off… but after seeing these remarks from him, thank God he is not a “Buffalo”.
  16. Two corners, sure. Not sure about “at least two..”. We’re only going to carry 4 outside corners on the 53, at most. Last year we mainly ran with Tre, Levi and Dane. Wildgoose got poached off the PS. Same with another pick at OG in Anderson. Can’t keep having that happen..
  17. Salary Cap goes up big and so does the cap hit for Josh Allen and Von Miller. If he’s willing to take a multi-year extension at 21-22M AAV and a bump in pay next year, I’d do it just to try and get it out of the way. My only issue, and maybe it’s function of our offense, is that he doesn’t take over games the way I see other elite guys do it. That’s why I’d go low 20’s but not any higher … also since we literally can’t go any higher if we want to field a complete team.
  18. Its not petty, but he’s also a WR with two years left on his deal. He’s also not Tyreek Hill. If he wants money that doesn’t make sense for Beane/Buffalo, then he can go make it catching passes for a low/mid-level QB or rookie. It is what it is. I’m down to about 75% from 99.9% that he’s on this team Week 1.
  19. Love it. This is where I'm at... McDermott isn't perfect, but he's very good, and clearly has an eye for CB play and development. If I'm the Bills, I'm using my RD1 & RD2 picks on OL/WR/DL moving forward. Then drafting two secondary players every year in Rounds 3-7. Specifically targeting players like this that McDermott can work with and develop. Keep the CB/S room stocked with constant draft picks, even if we're not spending high picks on the positions. Good find, and clearly we need speed in the secondary. You can scheme ways to keep teams from throwing over the top. Can't really scheme open field scenarios where Tyreek Hill just runs away from all your corners and safeties.
  20. Cautionary tale to those wanting Breece Hall. I also think the Chiefs made the right decision. There's zero chance they could compete at the level needed by paying Hill what he received from Miami. That said.. The Chiefs aura was Mahomes/Hill/Kelce. It was so unique to defend.. no other team has an elite QB, with the most explosive WR the league has ever seen and the league's top TE. Hill unlocked everything on that Offense because you have to bracket him, while in a normal world, would be bracketing Kelce. I've never seen anything like it.. They'll be ok. They'll have an explosive offense. But they will never replicate Hill in his prime + Kelce in his prime. We've never seen that before, and likely never will again. Now they're best bet is to field a Mahomes-led Offense like the Bengals. Elite QB with weapons all over. However, A) That is defensible and B) they are absolutely kicking themselves for wasting a RD1 pick on CEH looking at their roster on March 24th 2022.
  21. It's not like we'd replace Diggs with Jimmy Football Fan.... Draft Jameson/Olave/Dotson at 25. Target another WR high next year with a pick Diggs would bring back in a trade. Keep loading up on WR talent.
  22. 22M, we may do, but much higher and its basically - ok - Cash in and catch balls from Jared Goff or Jalen Hurts etc.
  23. I'm to the point where I think CB would be a horrible pick. I don't even think it makes sense for us at 25... as so many suggest ie. safe pick/makes a ton of sense... We have a CB friendly system that is predicated upon pressure up front with four rushers. Invest high picks/assets in Offense and Defensive Line. Everywhere else draft mid-late rounds and develop. No corner can cover for more than a few seconds and no corner can single cover guys like Hill & Chase. Score points, stop the run and pressure the QB.
