Obviously you read where I posted that Russia went too far… Its hilarious to me that the West is all “oh heavens me.. how did this happen!?” when we basically dared them to do it for years. Guess what … we probably wanted them to. This proxy war is gold for the MIC and all the politicians who benefit from their coffers … but I’m sure we only have the best of intentions - surely our track record speaks of our benevolence.

DeSantis For President in 2024?
SCBills replied to Trump_is_Mentally_fit's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Sorry, the simp Republicans are fading away. The Bush-era neocons are on your side now. I’m not an ideological old-school Republican… I want R’s like DeSantis that will crush corporations that get involved in politics. Senators like Hawley and Rand Paul, that will take a flamethrower to corrupted institutions. Enjoy the Mitt Romneys and Mitch McConnell’s while you have them. -
Yup .. what the media, and their willing sheep don’t realize.. Crimea & Donbas are far more complicated then most believe. Russia obviously crossed the line (after US/West constantly provoked them) but they’ve been warring over those territories for a while now, and most who live in those places identify as Russian.

Theres actually two Josh Allen’s in this years draft, if you haven’t heard. That comp is out there about Will Levis and Anthony Richardson. Regardless of what anyone thinks about this draft, there’s potentially 5 QB’s that could go Top 10… that alone will make the draft hyped.

Not only did the Chiefs trade Hill last year, they also let Ward and Mathieu walk.. Their starting Safety and CB1.
-
Obviously they don't need to go into detail, but I would like to know there's some semblance of a plan for Oliver, if we don't move him... we're losing Edmunds, if he bounces, for nothing... and will be facing the same scenario for a FAR less impactful guy in a DT room that has nobody under contact for '24. Yes, they should explain what the (vague) plan is...
-
I am not high on Ed Oliver, but I think you're way off here.
-
Speaking of that trade, a lot of fans here act as if KC clowned us on this situation... I'm not sure Elam doesn't end up the better player. His physical ceiling is higher than McDuffie and he made plays whenever he was out there.
-
Bills "decision makers" should legitimately explain what the plan is for Oliver if he's still on this roster post-draft. I fear you are correct, but from the outside, it makes no sense at all. 10.5M to a player not under contract the following year, who doesn't take over games himself and puts us in an Edmunds scenario for '24 at a position where we have nobody locked up on a multi-year deal is absurd management.
-
Guess it's subjective... if we can get a 2 and 5, I'd say that's huge. Even a 3 and 6, to me is a huge trade. Especially given we only have 6 picks. However, a RD1 pick is not happening, for sure.. and maybe all we get is a 4th, I have no idea... but people who have asked around seem to believe Ed has legitimate value.
-
That's definitely the point many aren't addressing. Obviously our FO is aware, but we have no DT's locked up past this year. Best case scenario, Oliver lives up to his 10.5M cap hit and then we can't afford him.. worst case, he stays inconsistent and we don't want to find money for him. Either way, I can't believe this staff truly sees a path for Ed in Buffalo past '23... and if that's the case, what are we doing here?
-
Depends... do we have a functional OL and a legit WR2? If so, someone like Keenum would probably be fine. If not, sign or draft a guy with a big arm and mobility.
-
I tend to trust, somewhat, what the guys over at Cover 1 say... and they seem to think, based on talking to others in different markets, that Oliver brings back a Day 2 pick and a Day 3 pick. I'd trade him for simply a 4th, but he does seem to have some value.
-
Also, I vividly remember fans.. nonstop.. questioning outside WR depth the entire off-season last year. Hardly anyone was thinking, ahhh we got Gabe opposite Diggs... we're fine. All camp/pre-season, we were fed the "pass catchers" line. Now, again, Beane is talking about "play makers/RAC" when asked about WR.... My goodness, BRO, just get us another legit outside WR2. Stop being cute about it. We all know what the deal is.
-
What doesn't add up for me is when Beane insinuates that the expectations for Gabe Davis were out unrealistic after the KC game. I don't know that we all thought he would be Calvin Johnson out there.. we just thought, given Beane didn't address outside WR, that they thought he was an top flight WR2 heading into the season. He is not. He's got value. He's a high end 3, low end/mid WR2, with a lot of big play ability... but top flight WR2, he is not. Don't tell us we were unrealistic, if this past year is what they thought he would be, we have much bigger issues at hand...

I like Morse a lot, but if the staff has any future plans of moving Bates to Center, I'd start that transition immediately and make sure we sign, and draft, a stud LG & RG to start the revamp of our IOL. If they don't, then maybe we should keep him and address C next year in the draft. Ed Oliver needs to be traded. I honestly think it's FO malpractice to keep him, with his cap hit, on this team. We could really use the 10.5M elsewhere, we could really use an extra draft pick or two and we have zero DT's under contract for '24. Extend Daquan Jones and either sign or draft a legit DT to start next to him on a multi-year/rookie contract. I'd keep Hyde. I firmly believe we should let Poyer and Edmunds walk, so having Hyde back there as a vet presence is worthwhile. I'd also keep AJE. He's a solid rotational DE. Not what we hoped he would be, but he's good enough to be a rotational piece on this Defense. I'd probably be ok with him getting a second contract here as DE4 to be honest. Spencer Brown has so much potential. I also believe we need to see it through with him. That also means making sure LT-LG-C-RG are above average players so he can be the up and down piece until he, hopefully, figures it out. Agree on McKenzie and Neal. There's no room anymore to pay legitimate money to fringe/ST guys.
-
CB1 Tre White CB2 Kaiir Elam CB3/4 Dane Jackson CB3/4 Christian Benford That's a really high potential CB room, in both starter ability and depth. If the plan is to keep Dane Jackson for multiple years, it would seem logical to move Benford to Safety given the comments Beane has made about him. If not, I can see where keeping him at CB makes sense.

Leslie Frazier "taking a year off from coaching" per Bills PR
SCBills replied to Roundybout's topic in The Stadium Wall
We've had the same playoff results year after year under Frazier. A bit different from having a rookie OC dealing with that. -

Agreed, which is why negative plays are so important in the playoffs. This defense, under Frazier, with core guys like Edmunds, Oliver and Poyer just didn't create them when it mattered in the postseason. The defense simply isn't aggressive enough for that to occur, unless we're to believe we need elite talent at every position...which isn't sustainable. -

Thinking back, Dorsey was dealt a pretty bad hand. I'm optimistic he has a good Year 2. -He has a brand new OL coach trying to implement a new scheme with middle of the road talent, which led to a bottom third OL ranking. -He had no real slot WR after Crowder went down early in the season. -His WR2 turned out to be a high end WR3/big play threat. -Josh Allen busted up his elbow halfway through the season and clearly wasn't right, albeit improving, throughout the rest of the season. -

Sure.. in the regular season, Frazier is fantastic. He’s not the guy to slow down Mahomes/Burrow in the Playoffs. We’ve seen enough to know that. This defense honestly needs a re-alignment, not just of coaching, but of investment. If Frazier leaving is followed by Poyer & Edmunds replaced by guys 1/3 of their cost, along with a situational pass rush specialist FA and moving Ed Oliver for picks and more size in the middle .. we may finally be onto something. And maybe they don’t annihilate bad to mid QB’s like Frazier’s D with Edmunds and Poyer, but they will have been built in a mold to better compete in the Playoffs (create more negative plays) while allowing more cap to be spent on the Offense. -

I think McDermott is taking over the defensive play calling, and the good news is that he now knows there are no more fingers to point if they don't step up in the Playoffs. -

100% sounds like Frazier was done after the season and the plan is to have McDermott take over play calling. This obviously didn't just come about over the weekend. They simply waited until now to make the announcement.
