Bills need to hit on picks to have a chance
SCBills replied to Niagara Dude's topic in The Stadium Wall
Oliver would 100% bring back a late round pick. There are teams that will see him as a pass rush boost from the interior, scheme fit, and willing to get him in the locker room to see if he’s a long term fit. White, we’ll see… it would be a gamble for anyone trading for him, but recent data shows that this coming year is when Tre White will bounce back to pro-bowl caliber Tre White. The year after the recovery/comeback year. Which is also why I doubt the Bills would sell low to move him. Regardless, Edmunds and Oliver should have no business being on this team next year … and Beane can make it so they aren’t here. That’s 22-24M the Bills can re-allocate to the Offense. -
Don't think "WR2" in the upcoming draft. Think WR1.
SCBills replied to Roundybout's topic in The Stadium Wall
We don't have to do this via the draft. We just seem to be forced to do so because our FO is obsessed with spending on the Defense. We don't need Edmunds to win a SB. We don't need White to win a SB. Certainly don't need Oliver to do anything. Edmunds can walk.. Beane can find trade partners for Oliver and White. That gives us approximately 30-35M in defense-allocated cap space to spend on Allen's Orlando Brown & Joe Thuney in Free Agency, along with the ability to target a WR2 like Chark, Meyers etc. If McDermott and Frazier can't make it work with a Defense led by Von Miller, Daquan Jones, Greg Rousseau, Matt Milano, Taron Johnson, Kaiir Elam and Micah Hyde, then why on earth are they here? -

Completely Agree. 1) Let Edmunds, Poyer and Singletary walk. I wouldn't even offer team friendly contracts to them. Edmunds is the toughest to let go, but he's not a pass rusher and we already have an elite LB. 2) Trade Oliver & White for picks and free up cap space. 3) Use the cap space to sign the best Tackle and best IOL available in Free Agency. Also sign a WR2 potential player in Meyers, Chark, (Renfro, if available) etc. 4) Then use the rest of available cap on a vet LB, vet CB, vet Safety and re-sign Phillips/Shaq/Dane 5) Assuming (conservatively) that White brings back a Day 2 pick and Oliver a Day 3 pick, we have plenty of ammo to move around and/or address WR, OL, DL, LB, CB, S, RB. -
Church Of England Debate Gender Of God

Progressives will hollow out your religion and wear the corpse like a suit. They are parasites who latch on to everything people hold dear, eat away at it, then destroy it from the inside. It’s happening in culture. It’s happening in education. It’s happening in religion. All that will be left is a hive-mind wasteland of androgynous, overweight, they/them’s who are subservient to the government and disavow the institutions that teach them to be individuals. Here’s to the future! -
I’m honestly fine with Dorsey coming back. He was a first year play caller with a bad OL and mediocre weaponry. Once his elite QB got hurt and started to not trust the personnel around him, it was a wrap. Invest heavy in the OL and WR this year and see what he can do. That’s going to require asking our defensive HC and long time DC to actually figure out how to do more with less, which I’m not sure is going to happen so…. Good luck Dorsey.

He's all over the place in terms of visibility. Interviews, media stuff, hanging with Lebron, pictures with Travis Scott, Meek Mill etc., certainly not consistent with someone who wants to be low-key about his recovery (and that's fine.. I don't hate that for him), but I'd agree that the whole situation has been, and is staying, a bit odd.

In fairness, Kelce is probably the most elite receiving weapon in the NFL. Otherwise, I agree. KC gave Mahomes an elite OL. We can also do that for Allen. Let Edmunds walk. Trade Oliver. Now we can be players for our Joe Thuney, Orlando Brown etc.. On Defense, the Chiefs have Chris Jones and some guys. If Chris Jones goes down, so does their DL. Same for us with Von. They have Bolton at LB.. even if we let Edmunds walk, we have Milano. They have some nice young pieces at CB/S, while we have White, Johnson, Elam and Hyde. I mean, it shouldn't be this difficult... we have enough on Defense, without Edmunds, Oliver and Poyer, to be on par with the Chiefs Defense. It's up McD/Frazier to figure out how to scheme/coach in the playoffs. If we run it back with Edmunds and Oliver.. nobody in this FO learned their lesson.. and Allen should be fuming. -

I'll keep saying it, but if Addison is within striking range, go get him. He is perfect in this Offense for our WR2, and has WR1 potential for when Diggs start slowing down and/or gets moved inside to the slot primarily. -

Children have fallen way behind in learning, while experiencing unprecedented levels of anxiety, depression and suicide. We have fallout from what happened that will last for decades. People have vax injuries that will be with them for the rest of their lives.. for something that was unnecessarily forced on them. Media and Tech were weaponized to propagandize the people, while medical institutions and agencies like the CDC will deal with the erosion of trust for years. What we saw was the true nature of subservient people... weak people create hard times, and it will happen again, and people like myself won't forget that there are people like you out there. Which is why this issue is the defining political issue of my lifetime and I will never support anyone who had anything to do with using a pandemic to enhance their grip of power over the people.. and will always remember half this country was willing to let that happen. -
Definitely worth looking into. Can’t call out the Biden family stuff and then act like the Kushner stuff isn’t worth looking into. This is also why I never cared about Biden/Hunter and their foreign investment issues, because everyone does it. I care that media/tech hid the story and had intel officials lie to us, but I don’t really care about “the big guy”…. All these high up politicians are easily corrupted.

I don’t necessarily live in a state of fear from our current govt .. although Biden’s bs vax mandate forced my brother into getting vaxxed for his job - one week later, diagnosed with tachycardia .. but I dont trust our govt, at all. I do fear a future for our govt with more power.. a govt that flirts with ideas such as ESG, social credit scores, centralized currency etc., all thing we see in countries like China, and are becoming increasingly vocalized by leaders in the EU and “progressive” leaders in the US. -

Good for you. I’m sure your social credit score will be good enough for extra rolls in the bread lines some day. Maybe even a bonus hour of fresh air during the next pandemic. -
This. There’s been fans openly questioning draft picks and decisions for a couple years now, but we always believed we were on the same level as KC/CIN, so… “trust the process”. Then this year happened. Beane, once again, drafted a guy on Day 2 that makes no sense. We, once again, struggled to utilize high picks. We, once again, were outdone at the trade deadline by our peer contenders. Were once again bringing back Frazier, who is the opposite of KC/Spags. Heavy investment, fails in the post-season. Compared to moderate investment, gets better as the season goes on. Beane’s comments sound like nothings going to change. He sounded defeated in his presser in acknowledging we don’t have many moves to be made this off-season, except we do …. He doesn’t need to keep Oliver, he doesn’t need to re-up Edmunds.. but it seems in his mind that those guys must be here next year, but I can tell you one thing… if Veach ran this team, I doubt either would be on the roster in 23. Veach would then have 24M to spend on Offense.

Did you see how many, otherwise sensible, countries around the world were run during covid? Curfews, mandates, police used as storm troopers. Theres a reason that didn’t happen here (to that extreme level), even if some progressive states tried their hardest. Id rather everyone have guns than cede all control to the government. Covid exposed the true nature of a lot of people, and a lot of leaders, and I’m for anything that checks that impulse. -
I think a healthy Oliver on the right DL could be a legit playmaker. He’s good, not great. I’d honestly give him away for a 7th, so I really don’t care what he brings back. I just want his cap hit out of here. Davis, I’m with you. Tougher call, but I do think he could bring back a decent pick .. see what Chase Claypool brought back.. If he’s not in future plans, or is a “wait and see”, just pull the plug and get a pick back. Neither of these two are difference makers for us.

I don’t own a gun. Have never had an urge to own a gun. The obvious answer to this question, for anyone who isnt a communist, is more guns >>>> no guns. -
Kendrick Lamar talks about smashing a white girl for ancestral revenge in his most recent album. Eminem’s lyrics … ha, ok… Ye says stupid stuff .. but it’s the wrong stupid stuff. Yeezus Ye would’ve been able to perform, but not “this” Ye.. alright, sorry .. I don’t accept that premise. I get why corporate NFL can’t bring him on .. but it’s performative bs.

He did seem that way. And what’s so frustrating is that he has levers to pull. He doesn’t need to re-up anyone. Even our podcasters simp for Edmunds lately. Give it a rest… Edmunds is NOT the difference between winning and losing in the playoffs. He has trade-able assets.. Oliver has value, maybe not a ton of value, but someone will give him some kind of pick to take on that cap hit for what he provides. Davis has value. Maybe legit pick value. Is he going to be re-signed next year? Do they even know. Is it a play it by ear situation?.. Move him for a pick. Allen doesn’t trust him beyond a sideline throw or deep shot. Tre White has value. Now I think the pick he could bring back probably isn’t worth it given what White could return to, now, a year removed from recovery.. but the convo should happen. Beane has levers to pull. He’s not stuck, yet he sounded stuck … if so, it’s in a prison of his own making. -
I have no faith he will do this, but if Beane is seriously paying attention to how teams are winning Super Bowls, he’d let Edmunds, Poyer and Singletary walk… then yes, he’d absolutely trade Oliver and Davis. Neither is a difference maker and both are in contract years. Letting Edmunds walk and trading Oliver gives the Bills around 24M to play with that they otherwise had allocated to defense. I’ll be conservative and say Oliver brings back a 4th and Davis a 3rd. We now have ammo to move around the board or extra mid-round picks to replenish the defense with younger, cost controlled players at S, LB and DT. Im ok keeping Davis if they feel he will be content with signing a WR3 contract, but if not.. get a pick back while he has value.

“What would Veach do?” Should be Beane’s motto this off-season. Would Veach re-sign Edmunds to a massive contract? Would Veach try to trade Ed Oliver? Gabe Davis? Tre White? Im not saying he’d trade all 3, but he traded Tyreek Hill… he let Charvarious Ward walk. He won a Super Bowl the following year. -
The halftime show was wildly meh.. and I don’t mind Rihanna’s music at all. I can’t remember a single moment of the show. Might as well just played one of those random Amazon Music concerts they keep trying to hype people on after Thursday Night Football. Should’ve brought Ye out during “All of the Lights”… everyone I know thought that was about to happen … and then, meh, next song, more forgettable bubble dancers.

Eagles invested in their Defense as much as anyone this year. It didn't matter in the Super Bowl. Lucky for them, they don't have KC, BUF, CIN or even LAC in their way to get there, or they likely would've been exposed earlier. This is an Offense-driven league and the Playoffs are a different animal.. Give a good DC an average Defense and an elite player on the DL and you're golden to invest heavy around your elite QB. Giving Edmunds a huge contract after watching that game would an absolute joke. It's bad enough that Oliver is on this team next year at an 11M cap hit.

If you could do only one thing to improve the team for next season

Explain to all of us like we're five how Mahomes being on this team gets Knox constantly wide open and allows the offense to routinely create 3 yard throws that turn into 6 points. -

When healthy, we're better than them at every level on Defense (assuming Tre/Hyde/Von come back strong and we re-up Edmunds). Lucky for them... that doesn't matter much in the postseason. They realize that all it takes is an average defense and one elite game-wrecker. On offense, they have a better OL, better weapons and about 100 levels better coaching. Again, lucky for them, that does matter in the postseason.
