  1. Our OL didn’t get “blasted” end of last year though.. Maybe we’re overrating Kromer’s impact on the OL, but we’ve also seen teams with good OL’s be able to continue so with injuries/turnover, and the one constant is their coaching. A big issue last year was our Tackle play was a mess at times. Dawkins battling covid issues most of the season and Brown being an incredibly raw rookie. Not a coincidence they got better when Dawkins finally started looking like Dawkins and not some body snatched impersonator. From my view, Dawkins and Morse are both very good players. The other 3 guys we’re kind of hoping on.. Hoping that Bates is for real and Brown makes a second year jump. Also hoping Saffold has one more good year in the tank after an off-season getting healthy. Quessenberry, Doyle, Ford & Mancz as healthy depth.. Not awful, but also not great. Dorsey’s Offense does look like a lot more easy, quick throws to get YAC which may help the OL look better by default.
  2. I said in another thread that due to how the board was falling before our picks, it seemed we were on our heels a bit. That doesn’t mean we had a bad draft. On the contrary, I think Beane and Co. did a really good job. While we may have wanted OL help, they clearly did not. They had chances to do so, most evidently when Parham was there for the taking and we took Bernard. Perhaps a bit of a reach, but we had no RD4 pick, and clearly wanted to make sure we locked down this player. I see his fit in our Defense. Basically a Milano clone. Gives us good depth and the ability to throw 3 LB sets at teams without losing coverage ability. We lost our RD4 pick because the Chiefs jumped us to take McDuffie. I don’t necessarily believe we had McDuffie rated higher than Elam, or vice-versa, but I do think we would have taken either. So when the Chiefs took McDuffie, we couldn’t risk Dallas, or someone else trading up, taking Elam. Cook, like Bernard, may have been a bit of a reach due to scheme fit. Not every team wants a undersized speed LB in RD3 and not every team wants primarily pass catching back in RD2. However, for us, Cook is a home run pick. Absolute monster potential. We recovered value on Day 3 in taking Khalil Shakir, by using some ammo we got trading back on Day 2 to get a WR, who like Gabriel Davis, had Day 2 talent but was pushed down by the incredible depth of the WR class. Then we took Matt Araiza, and who can complain about that. Benford seems like a guy our scouts did a ton of work on, and we know this staff can coach up late round/UDFA corners. Tenuta and Spector seem like camp bodies, maybe PS. Not terribly impressed with Tenuta, seems like there’s 0.0% chance he even makes it out of camp, but whatever. Wydermyer as a UDFA is worth watching. Overall B+ Our top 5 picks should all make the 53 and contribute in some way this season. Elam is a Day 1 starter and Cook joins Motor as a RB tandem that suddenly looks like it could be, dare I say, a strength.
  3. I would’ve liked a legit outside WR with some speed and size, but with the way this draft went, we would’ve had to take one at 25. Absolutely insane runs on WR’s. Luckily, similar to the year we got Davis in the 4th, this was a loaded WR class that allowed us to take a really talented WR in Shakir twenty spots after we took Davis. Cook is an absolute home run pick. He can be an absolute monster in this Offense. Our starting five on the OL is likely set. They signed Quessenberry as swing tackle insurance if Doyle doesn’t make the jump and, for whatever reason, Kromer must see something in Ford. One of these days, we’ll give Allen a blue chip draft pick on Offense (hopefully), but Cook & Shakir is a really nice pair of weapons.
  4. I think the top five picks all make an impact this year. -Elam is a Day 1 starter. -Cook is going to likely be a tandem with Motor and a big weapon in the Offense -Bernard likely plays specials and sub packages -Shakir might be too good to keep off the field, but even if he’s stuck at depth, he could win the kick/punt return job -Araiza likely wins the Punter job -Tenuta & Spector are camp bodies, maybe PS Weird draft.. seems like we were on our heels a bit with the way the board kept falling to us, but they handled it well and got five guys who likely make the 53, and a depth CB with a chance.
  5. The Buffalo Bills are no longer just a small market team when our 5th RD Pick, Khalil Shakir, is trending #3 in the USA. *Now Punt God also Top 10 trends
  6. Araiza and Bass have to be the most swagged out Specialist duo in the league. Thankfully we have Pops Ferguson to even it out.
  7. Bills saw we were a league low in YAC and signed Crowder and Howard, then drafted Cook and Shakir… Allen should have about 50-100 more easy yards per game in the passing attack with these roster moves.
  8. ESPN guys love the pick. McShay had a late 3rd on him. Ok.. I’m good! I’ll shut up about WR now ha.
  9. We’ve been pretty strong on Day 3.. Milano, Davis, Johnson, Jackson etc.. Im looking for 1-2 players today that may get on the field this year as depth or rotation pieces to potentially develop into more.
  10. Watched Coastal twice this past year and Likely jumped off the screen both times.
  11. LT and MJD gushing over the James Cook fit in Buffalo on NFLN.
  12. WR TE RB CB P If we turn our 6 picks into 4 of those players, I’d be ecstatic. Im looking at RB and see a bunch of guys that would be useful on this team over Moss. Seems we always draft a late corner.
  13. The draft could not have played out any worse for us if we wanted to stand pat and take a WR. Agreed. We could have moved up in RD2 or RD3 to get someone, but I’m on board with the James Cook pick. Hoping we get someone early today to be that outside WR3 or a Calvin Austin to give us more speed. We could also still sign someone, especially if the drafting of Bernard leads to the release of Matakevich. Kumerow is fine for WR6, but Stevenson showed us nothing as a rookie and Hodgins has been in witness protection since we drafted him.
  14. Tbh, I can see why they still have faith in Ford. His tape at Oklahoma was very good and he fits what Kromer wants to do. They probably feel he’s more talented than any of the IOL that were available for us after RD1 and I can’t say I’d blame them. Talent doesn’t always transition and that remains to be seen with Ford. One year left to shed the bust label. That said, let’s say he comes in best case scenario and pushes Bates or Saffold… then what… just another guy to add to the list of pending FA’s with Knox, Edmunds, Poyer, Singletary & Saffold.
  15. Ha, I don’t disagree, but I don’t see a ton of teams that have these stud backup swing tackles around the league.
  16. Im not overlooking it.. I don’t know that the Chiefs will be even close to as dynamic as they’ve been with Hill. He’s that special. What I’m saying is that we have posters saying we don’t need a WR, when we have two legitimate outside WR’s. The Chiefs have MVS, Hardman and Juju as their starters, then still went out and got Mahomes Skyy Moore. We have Diggs, Davis and Crowder… a better 3-wide than the Chiefs, but after them we have a gadget/slot in McKenzie and that’s really it.
  17. Casual NFL fans talk about Gabriel Davis as a top notch WR. Just look at any social media discussion. I get that we, as Bills fans, are more critical, but Davis is that dude.
  18. We have a vet in Quessenberry and a 2nd year guy in Doyle. I wouldn’t call that zero depth.
  19. JA had to do way too much last year. It’s not sustainable. Unleash him during the Playoffs, absolutely, but we have to reel back the hits he takes in the regular season and give him a more reliable running game. I would honestly have zero issue taking another RB today if they feel he’s an upgrade to Moss. Singletary is our lead back, but Cook and Duke are very specific types of receiving backs. Kromer alone should help elevate what is an average to (hopefully) above average OL in terms of talent/depth.
  20. If he had more power to his game, he’d have been RB1 in this draft. He’s the most skilled pass catching RB, by far, in this draft. UGA had him run routes from the backfield, the slot, and even flexed outside. He’s not going to be a guy that we hand the ball off to a ton. Here and there to keep teams honest, but he’s going to be a guy that we use to carve up 2 deep safety looks.
  21. I mean, if we’re just drafting Milano insurance in RD3, I’m quite ok replacing Moss with Dameon Pierce.
  22. Special Teams, LB3 in certain sets & Primary backup for Edmunds/Milano. After watching tape, I don’t hate it. I see why they wanted him, and right after us teams went off picking linebackers. We just go SO heavy on defensive investment. I love the James Cook pick, and thought for sure RD3 would snag us a WR or OL, only to select another defensive player. For me, it’s not the player, I get his fit for our defense and his tape is fun to watch, but we have very real IOL/WR depth areas we can address and we do this in RD3..
  23. They can absolutely be the NFL’s #1 Offense. Outside WR depth is my only real concern. Our OL requires some faith in players to either make the jump (Bates/Brown) or regain form (Saffold), but I don’t think those are unrealistic expectations. Allen is elite. For the first time, in a long time, I love our RB duo. Two talented TE’s. Three talented WR’s. A nice chess piece in McKenzie. With our Defense looking like a legitimate #1 Defense when Tre White comes back (Not the faux-statistical one we had last year), this Offense should get plenty of opportunities for fireworks.
  24. This may end up being one of my favorite Bills picks in a while. Cook is going to be an absolute monster in this Offense. His WR skills as a RB are incredible.
