Anyone else wake up still feeling very optimistic?
Mat68 replied to JerseyBills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
At the end of the day can Miami play better than they played over the last month? I would argue they cant. Has Buffalo played a complete game in all 3 phases? I dont think so. Buffalo playing at a sub optimal level is still above MIA. Buffalo has 3 should be wins and 3 tough games. I put Mia in that tough category. Mia has 3 should be wins and 4 tough games. Out of Buffalos tough games they beat 2 of the teams already and Mia faces 2 teams that beat them. -

Lets see how MIA handles being road favorites. DEN and NYJ are should be wins same with Cincy at home. If all 3 phases dont play well can they win those games? How do they handle NE, KC, LV. If those are L's they would need to beat Buffalo and finish with more wins b/c Buffalo will have the better division record for tie breaker. -
Buffalo has played tough teams. They lost to 3 possible division winners. Most media heads pegged Buffalo with 9 wins. Buffalo ate NE best shot. Buffalo played a little sloppy but still pulled out the game. Kinda like one of the Patriots wins vs Buffalo a year, for the better part of 20 years. The team will be relativley healthy after the bye. Coming out of the bye they have LAC and SF both teams Buffalo can handle. Going into Sunday night football Buffalo should be 9-3 vs PIT. Buffalo sits in the captain chair of the Division. Meaningful football with playoff implication in after Nov is what Mcdermott brought to Buffalo. This season Buffalo has a shot at hitting their stride instead of holding on to it.

Does NBC get their pick? Or does CBS and FOX get to pick their game first?
-
Right. I was saying, I believe the coaching staff likes the nastiness Felicano brings to the line. Taking into account the NE game they want Feliciano on the feild. With his pec injury, playing center is easier for him at the moment. Morse I think didnt have a full week of practice so they went with Mango. Now after the Bye the run game is improved by Feliciano at guard. Him paired with Dawkins or Williams should create a solid a good combo to run behind. Him playing Lg fits best with Allen rolling out right. Bringing some balance to the offense will make it harder to defend.

They didnt play great, Allen drove down and had a probable game winning drive on the road. Arizona made a 1% play to win. I have disected that play everyway possible. The final play lays at 2 peoples feet imo. 1. Mcdermott. He bailed out Arizona by calling the TO. No time to think just call the play. Murray is still young and I dont believe he goes against his instict to roll out right. I firmly believe thats what Kingsberry talked to Murray about on that play. Roll out left where Hopkins will be in the endzone. 2. Poyer. The only defender in position to make the play was White. Poyer ran over, poorly timed his jump, closed his eyes and most importantly knock White out of the way. In the replay there is another set of black gloves on the ball. Its Whites, than Poyer sent him flying 5 yards. Overall, Buffalo is in position to get healthy at the bye. The oline should be at full strength for the first time all season. The defense is playing better. They should be near full strength too. With 6 games remaining I see 3 where Buffalo is favored. LAC, SF, DEN. That takes them to 10 wins. The other 3 are close games imo. PIT, NE, MIA. Honestly, Buffalo matches up well with both NE and MIA. Pit is measuring stick and think I could see them winning that one too. Undefeated doesnt happen. They will slip up. Buffalo needs to win those favored and beat MIA to win the division imo. They are in position to get momentum they get hot now win tough games they are in a great place headind into the playoffs. Playing good before Thanksgiving isnt nearly as important as playing good after. -
I think this has more to do with Feliciano than Morse. Mango brings a nastiness to the oline. I believe he said right now center is easier to play than guard while still recovering from his pec injury. Hopefully, after the bye he will be comfortable playing guard. The best 4 are Dawkins, Williams, Feliciano and Morse. Mango at guard improves the run game. Creates more push and movement up front.

Gary Gramling (si.com) Josh Allen Quote
Mat68 replied to BillsIsrael's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He is the first Qb since Farve that puts you on the edge of your seat. No matter the outcome you know he will go down swinging. Whether he is getting called for a facemask on a DE, just to throw a 20 yard laser on the next play. Nothing is impossible. The 25 plus years of mediocre qb has created almost a conditioned response to circumstances and game situations. Allen breaks down all those barriers for me. He may not be the best Qb, but everytime he steps on the field there is a possibility he is the best player on the field. Against Seatlle he was. In the playoffs he could be too. -
Ok This Dolphins talk is getting out of hand.

They are playing very good defense and teams. They are living off defensive Tds and Special teams Tds. That is not sustainable. I dont see them beating Buffalo. Any team Miami plays has a real shot at beating them. -
It was a great win. No one in the media expected Buffalo to win. They did. Now the narrative is Russ didnt have a run game. Russ cant do it on his own. Well in Buffalo Josh is doing the samething. Bills go as Josh go. Allen is a top 5 Qb right now. I hope going forward Buffalo utilizes the aggresive defense approach. Worst case you give up a big play and the offense gets the ball back. Best case you create turnovers like Sunday. Allowing teams to eat clock takes away from the teams biggest strength the offense.

Gameday Thread PreGame Week 9 Bills vs. Seahawks
Mat68 replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Seatle isnt as good as the media or they think. Buffalo wins a game few expect they will. Buffalo runs the ball and Allen hits some big plays. Russ starts cooking too late. Im excited, Buffalo matches up well. Buffalo wins and the excuses flow as to why. People may think the Jets and Ne games are negatives. I do not. Buffalo beat Ne the way Ne beat Buffalo for 20 years. Take their best shot and still find a way to win. Buffalo can win a game a number of differant ways. -
Week 9 - Predict the score (Seattle @ Buffalo)
Mat68 replied to RiotAct's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Seahawks havent played anyone. Buffalo controls the ball, Russ forces a few too many bqlls to Metcalf and Tre makes him pay. Buffalo silences the doubters for 1 week. Buffalo 38 Seatle 24. -

I would keep Boettger at LG and work Ford in at Rg. Being able to run when you want to will be huge down the stretch. -
WR Jake Kumerow Active on Sunday
Mat68 replied to BillsFanForever19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Buffalo goes 4 wide alot. I want Roberts catching punts and kickoffs. I want him no where near Allen. Mckenzie inside, Kumarow spell outside. -
It doesnt matter how well they played in September or how poorly they played in October. Post Thankgiving can Buffalo play their best football. If Buffalo can run the ball when they want to, and play scrappy defense they will be a tough out for anyone. I think the last to weeks were good ugly wins. The defense played better. Sea at home at 1pm is a winnable game. Buffalo wins the league takes notice. Even so the teams that win superbowls play the best in December and January.

Are our WRs not getting separation? Or is it Allen?
Mat68 replied to Rubes's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Brown and Diggs are. Diggs has been the most productive wr deep over the last 3 years. A guy how cant catch it on the backend of the play is useless. Teams are playing back. If they can run the ball it will open up the deep ball. -

McKenzie cant track the ball the way Brown or Diggs do. Mckenzie is a decent back up in the slot and his jet sweeps. Thats really it. -
They are trash on the edge. He is like playing an extra lineman. Make alot if sense I expect alot of 21 personal.

Bills Special Teams(other than Bass) among NFL Leaders...

On a fair share of his misses the laces were on the side not out. Idk not a kicker but think it can push a football a few yards. -
Week 8 Pats** At Bills - Predict the score
Mat68 replied to SlimShady'sSpaceForce's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I dont see Ne scoring more than 10 points. This will be a blowout. The weather keeps Buffalo under 30. The Defense builds off the second half in NYJ. Ne on offense has similar talent. Buffalo 27- 6. -
I think the Bills running issues are a little overblown. Henry was held in check. Jacobs was held in check. 2 games hurt LAR and KC. Vs LAR the offense got going and their playaction had the defense guessing. KC was a strategic ploy to not commit extra guys in the box, stop Mahomes. I do not see a 1 dimensional offense giving a Mcdermott defense problems. I think Chris is over simplifing the matchup. Can Buffalo commit more to stopping the run without worrying about getting burned outside? Yes. Against a favorable matchup and favorable looks could Buffalo have success running? Yes. Against NE Buffalo can and should play man on early downs. Third and longs they have 0 shot. Allen would need to have his worst game of the season for this to be a close game. I think NE play more man than we faced in the past few weeks. Buffalo gets some big plays early. These are the type of games Diggs was brought in for. I think Buffalo wins big 27-9
-
Top 5 or 10 you must. 15 probably? Outdide of that you have a point. Allen has played like a top 5 qb this year. He finishes the same way you pay him.
-
With Buffalo being able to play heavy im not that concerned about the run defense. They are not the Cheifs or Rams outside. They dont have to worry about anybody outside. Load the box make Newton be Brady. I think Buffalo matches up quite well.
