I don't think he's laughing about the concussion itself. His point was that this game occurred BEFORE the concussion. He's making fun of people who think that the concussion caused all of Trent's problems.
I don't know how this myth of him ever being good has persisted for so long. Trent was never more than a backup. If Walsh hadn't mentioned his name to Marv, he probably wouldn't even have been a 3rd round pick.
Trent played safe - before and after the hit. That's why Jauron liked him.
I saw that show too. I went to see The Who; didn't know much about The Clash at the time, other than a couple of radio songs, but they were pretty impressive.
The Who, of course, was spectacular. And they made it rain on cue. (Even The Stones can't do that.)
^ This. Who, other than the Browns, would trade a 3rd round pick for TT? I was thinking a 5th would be lucky, but most teams would just wait for him to be cut, and if they missed out, no big deal.
We got really lucky on that one.
I'm sure they did their homework well in advance. The messages to Hue Jackson and McCarron's former coaches came at the last minute because Beane didn't want to tip his hand to other teams. He did the research with no other teams knowing his plan, and then made a last minute check of other coaches just to see if there was a glaring reason not to pull the trigger on the deal.

The Who is my favorite of all time. After that, in no particular order:
Led Zeppelin
The Beatles
Pink Floyd
Grateful Dead
Rush
The Stones
Hendrix
The Doors
A bunch of other classic rock bands...
