  1. Lol the NFL schedule is set years in advance with how home and away matchups go and who is home and away. It literally is as easy as a monkey when it comes to how the matchups are set.
  2. Gilmore should be in over McGee. He was really really good despite fan hatred towards the guy. Otherwise your pretty spot on with this. Nigel Bradham I may also put in over Manny Lawson
  3. Awful advice. Downtown has a lot happening these days with canalside, allentown, elmwood village, and chippewa/theatre district. There are a lot of breweries around now, plus little shops in the allentown & elmwood village area. You will need to uber or rent a car, but downtown the subway is free above ground so you move decently plus you can rent bikes. Most of the hotels downtown are right on or near the subway also. The marriott garden is nice downtown as is the marriot actually in the harborcenter facility. Pearl St. Bar and Grill has some excellent food plus massive beer bongs about 2 1/2ft high you can drink from. The riverworks area is right by the Sabres arena and pretty popular year round for food drinks and a variety of outdoor entertainment which in early Nov you still may be able to catch. In regards to game day its all up to you on what type of experience. The lots on the Bills ground do not open until 9 but still can be fun. The major party lots are typically private or the buss lot. You will need some kind of ride to the stadium but I am sure if you looked up group travel to the stadium you can find stuff plus as others here have offered if they can help you car pool. I will say while the tailgating is amazing and everything, I do recommend you check out the field house and stuff in front of the Bills Store. They have a lot of neat free stuff you can do and the field house when open is cool to see quickly if you never have been to a game here.
  4. That's a good idea, start your own thread for it. I would thoroughly enjoy that.
  5. Good one I would probably replace Moorman with him.
  6. Well drawn up here are my thoughts: Myth 1: Disagree to the extent that Buffalo was the better team and if they played 10 times Buffalo wins 8-9 of them. This was the one we got bit on. BUT to your point it wasn't like the Giants were 9-7 scrubs. A lot of talent there and tremendous coaching made them a very formidable and valid foe. Myth 2: Agreed. One of the things I laugh at is when people say a team should completely stop doing what made them successful. Kelly actually called more run plays over his career then pass, like you said he took what was given to him. If anything in the 2nd half the coaching staff maybe should've just ran the clock a touch more at points. They didn't have to break from what worked in the K-Gun just modify it slightly. But any interview I have heard with the offense from the 1990 team they've said they were going to do what made them successful and die that way if it came to it. If you want to say by Superbowl 28 perhaps the offense should've evolved a touch to be a bit more ground and pound or ball control sure, but in 25 no way. Myth 3: Yep. My dad has always said it wasn't Norwood and the amount of blown tackles by the defense alone killed them. The Bills made enough errors as a collective unit that they created a situation where everything came down to a kick. Daryl Talley himself has said on the one 3rd and long if he would've just tackled normal it would've been 4th and long. He went for the big hit and it blew up in his face. There are a lot of what ifs on the defensive side especially. People also forget in today's age of automatic kickers that back in the early 90s kickers were far less trustworthy and accurate with success kicking. Myth 4: Agreed. The only criticism I could see would be not trying one more play that was a quick out pattern or something just to get a few more yards but that is more a coaching call. The offense as many have said left feeling mission accomplished.
  7. So with the news of Thurman today getting his number officially retired I had a fun idea of who would be on your Bills wall of fame if you could only pick the 2 best players from each decade that played in that decade (60's,70's,80's,90s, 2000s,2010s). For insistence if you want to pick Bruce & Jim for the 80s so you could do Thurman & Andre if you wanted for the 90s. But I am curious who everyone would have for this. Here are mine 1960's 1. Elbert Dubenion 2. Jack Kemp 1970's 1. OJ Simpson 2. Joe DeLamielleure 1980's 1. Bruce Smith 2. Jim Kelly 1990's 1. Thurman Thomas 2. Andre Reed 2000's 1. Brian Moorman 2. Eric Moulds 2010's 1. Kyle Williams 2. Eric Wood
  8. Ugh, I mean I get it Thurman is all time great and this probably should've happened earlier but I get nervous we just keep relieving the past as much as possible just because we can. I really hope they are careful that this is it for a bit with 12, 34, and 78. It takes away from those guys if we start doing this regularly.
  9. Haha I am an incredibly lucky husband to say the least
  10. My sister in law got one for her birthday and he literally got traded a few days later from her brother. He was able to trade it back for a McCoy jersey so it worked out but yea...lol
  11. Goes like this: CJ Spiller 2010 Throwback Blue AFL received as a graduation gift from my cousin Stevie Johnson 2012 White Away Jersey as currently seen (I loved Stevie) EJ Manuel 2013 Home Jersey My wife and I ended up loving EJ early on and we went week 2 to the Carolina comeback game and swore he was the dude. Ended up buying his uni for each of us week 4 when we went to the Baltimore game. I don't even regret it because it was the first time I ever just straight up bought two jersey (not from china lol) from the stadium and it was fun. Jim Kelly 2015 90s Bills home uni which has the 75th NFL anniversary patch. This is my go to jersey these days for watching the game at home and sometimes home games when the weather is good. I got Kelly with the intention of never buying a jersey again because the previous 3 were all gone by 2015 or in EJs case on the way out. Figured Jim was an easy pick given he's the franchise legend. Barcari Rambo 2017 White away OK so I was really excited when Rambo resigned and at the time Poyer was an unknown so I figured he would make it back and I loved his name. In retrospect I should've got Hyde oh well. Going to games I typically wear CJ or Stevie given I lately have been attending a lot of cold weather games and I can layer pretty well underneath. Also this is who my wife has she has me beat: Jarius Byrd 2008 Dark Blue Home CJ Spiller 2012 White AFL throwback EJ Manuel 2013 Blue home Shady McCoy 2016 Red Home Steve Hauschka 2017 Blue home Jordan Poyer 2017 Blue home Kinda how I feel. Thats why after my failouts with CJ, Stevie, & EJ I got a Jim Kelly jersey and I am set. Always in style and no worries he leaves lol
  12. People forget this with Tyrod. He has an incredible low turnover rate so even if they didn't move the ball very far passing they still could force poorer field position for the other teams and it kept the games low scoring..While the Bills offense was pretty porus last year, they could run the ball and didn't beat themselves with TO's in general which you can win with as long as your defense can hang in enough which they did. If they have a QB who comes in that is going to toss it up and take more risks you also will have a few games that become losses or blow outs that aren't that way with a conservative guy. For as awful to watch as games like the Panthers/Chiefs/Bengals/Colts were, having a offense that didn't turn it over allowed the games to be close. So yea I think the offense can/will regress a bit more given the O-line shuffle, QB who won't be as safe, and awful passing catching unit after Benjamin/Clay.
  13. He has the Bills at 5.7 wins in his actual projection which I don't disagree much with. He states specifically just because a team is favored doesn't mean they will win.
  14. Tend to agree. I didn't hate the Rex hire but at the expense of Schwartz just felt wrong. They finally had an established defense that could do things and the ownership messed with it because they wanted a "rock star" head coach. They fixed that with McBeane who are doing a nice job rebuilding the defense quickly, but I hated that Rex forced scheme change and forced a lot of talent out because he was Rex.
  15. Every time I see posts like these I generally think were back to reliving the past and how glorious it was. I say that because about a decade ago I wanted the endzones back to red and the walls around the stadium red. If the team had any sustainable success in the last two decades people would be nostalgic about those unis, helmets, endzones etc.. In general I think the Bills sometimes overdue the 90s teams these days given we have celebrated that horse into the ground and I am happy they finally are moving a bit forward in recent years. Not saying the 90s teams can't or shouldn't be celebrated but a points it does go overboard. I like what we have now it fits perfect and its time for new memories and a new era (no pun intended). The current uniform scheme and helmet allows the standing buffalo to be worn for those who like that and for people like myself who prefer the charging buffalo it is great. My only wish which I have said multiple times is they would bring a blue version of the throwback jersey because I think it personally looks better (blue is also my favorite color so im bias).
  16. Don't disagree with fearing Ottawa was not confident going in only in hindsight does it make sense. I was at the first game we beat them that season which Miller went toe to toe with Hasek and we won 2-1 in a shootout. The arena was chanting USA after for Miller because the US brilliantly didn't take him on the Olympic roster. One of the coolest moments I've ever been at.
  17. 2006 Sabres were better then 2006 Senators and 2007 Senators were better then 2007 Sabres. 06 Sabres/07 Senators both were the top teams in the league the 2nd half of the season whereas the other two teams benefited from insanely hot starts to the season that made them slightly better then they were. 2007 Sabres were a paper tiger in terms of team composition. 07 Youth could score but lacked the heart and grind like you mention that vets who left like McKee, Dumont, & Grier had.
  18. I suppose I am in the big step back camp even though I had them at 8-8 just because I think 6-10 or 7-9 is very likely. I believe the team will be competitive and not blown out in games because I do think the defenses improves. But the offense needs time for the O-line to gel, they are incredibly shaky at WR after Benjamin, and while the offense wasn't sensational in the least last year they didn't turn the ball over. If they open it up and have more turnovers that's no conducive for a young learning offense/QB. Personally I am ok with this because Wentz's Eagles went 7-9 and Goff's Rams were even worse, but both grew big time last year. I just want to see enough signs that this really can work long term.
  19. At Baltimore: L vs LAC: W At Vikings: L at Packers: L (1-3 1st quarter in) vs Tennessee: W at Houston: L At Colts: W vs Patriots: W (4-4 2nd quarter in) Vs Bears: W at Jets: L Vs Jags: L at Miami: L (5-7 3rd quarter in) Vs Jets: W Vs Lions: W at Patriots: L vs Miami: W (8-8 4th quarter in) I actually could see them 7-9 or even 6-10 with losses to LAC and more likely Pats at home (although I have a good feeling for that one). This to me is a transition season and all about Allen's development. As long as they don't crater to like 4 wins I"m ok with 5-7 wins.
  20. Haha after the Dolphins game I grabbed my dolphins trading cards I had and was about to start ripping them up in anger but my Dad wouldnt let me haha (glory days of being a 10 year old)
  21. So here is a fun thing I want to try to keep going until we get to pre-season. Every Friday we flashback to a season and comment on what you remember from that you that was memorable good or bad. To kick it off lets focus on the Bills 1998 season. For me the biggest thing I remember from that season is the game against JAX where at the end Flutie leads the game winning drive and on 4th down does a QB roll out to score the TD. If I am not mistake JAX was undefeated at the time and for Buffalo a win would get them back to .500. The excitement from the game just seemed to bleed over to the rest of the year. Looking back at the video highlights it looked like one of those games you wished you were at.
  22. Its funny if they looked at BB's tree for guys who went on to be GM's and Presidents its farrr more successful. You have Ozzie Newsome for starters, Scott Peoli, Demtrioff etc.. Coach wise Saban may be his most successful and he is in the college ranks. But I think those who got his tutelage for non coaching positions have done well in my $.02 opinion
  23. Thats why I have them splitting. Their defense is improved, their offense has some pieces especially at WR, and if Darnold is anything decent they are a challenge.
  24. Houstons defense is really good and with an even average Watson it is a tough game with the talent they have. Plus we are on the road it isn't a home game. Like for insistence the Chargers I think is winnable because its home, on the road I think its a really tough game as shown last year regardless of Peterman. I think the Bills because of the defense can be competitive in almost all the game with maybe a blow out loss at NE or GB because every team has a really bad week. I just think road games in general are tough to win and with a porous offense plus the opponents they have its a tough go.
  25. After having some time to marinate between free agency, the draft, and the schedule I finally have taken a bit of a look at the season for real and where I kind of see things playing. This is based off what we know I understand that come October some teams could change in terms of what we think so take it with a grain of salt as always and just have fun with it. Home: Looking at the Bills home schedule I see five games which I would say I expect them to win: NYJ, MIA, DET, TEN, & CHI After that I see the Chargers and Jaguars games as ones I would expect us to be slight underdogs but we should have a fighting chance and of course NE haha which is what it is. With that I think is reasonable for the Bills to be around 6-2 at home. They seem to really feed off the crowd last year and play really well minus the NOLA game. Believe it or not I actually kinda trust them at home with this coaching staff against everyone minus NE. The road though yeesh! Games I expect to lose: NE, MIN, GB, HOU Games that we may have a chance but it will be tough sledding to some extent: NYJ, MIA, IND, BAL I really can't find a game on the road I expect them to win. I understand a lot of people think the Jets and Dolphins should be easy wins but we blew it on the road last year in NY and they look improved at all areas. MIA we swept last year and even though I believe they will be one of the five worst teams in football I still don't think its cake walk and see them winning. IND is the one game that seems most winnable at this point even if Luck plays. Last year part of the reason the Bills made the playoffs last year is they won two big games (ATL/KC) that none of us saw them winning. They will have to do that again this year against what I feel is an even rougher schedule across the board on the road in some really tough places to win. 3-5 hopefully would be good enough to keep them in the race, but truthfully if they plan on really being in the playoffs 4-4 minimum would be the goal on the road and that looks even tougher then last year.
