  1. Tuck Rule: Growing up as a kid while the Bills were my favorite team, Gannon was my favorite player and Oakland always has been a cool team to me in general. I remember jumping in front of the TV when the fumble happened thinking OAK sealed up the win, only to see it reversed on the most BS call I've seen to date. I went to bed just utterly stunned and pretty sure I laid there for 30 minutes trying to recant how it was possible. (No real fan pain if it was the Bills dear god that wouldve killed) In regards to yesterday my issue stems to the fact the reffing is not equitable across the board. The Jets absolutely got hosed on that call as would've BUF, CLE, or name another down club over the last bunch of years. I believe when lesser teams like the Jets or Bills score refs have almost a shock that the TD happened against a team like NE so they go the extra mile in their eyes that its the correct call. Things aren't equitable because if that's the Patriots, Steelers, Broncos, Chiefs, insert big name team thats successful its a TD without even a thought. Second I thought to overturn a call from the ruling on the field you have to have clear evidence that the ball was being fumble. I watched the replays and no one can say it there was any form of that. These kind of calls drive me nuts because it really hurts the balance of the game and justifiably implies that the Patriots are being favored. Add in the fact the Pats actually maybe kinda could lose to the Jets if its 24-21 and they would be 3-3 and its a perfect storm of crap.
  2. It took an L to Rex Ryan's Bills in 2016 who were coming off their first offseason title.
  3. Haha ok so they don't play anyone so predict their record to end the season. I have the Bills going 9-7 and just missing out on the playoffs to break everyones heart.
  4. The thing with 2018 is you are hinging that improvement is automatic regardless of anything else. The defense for as good as it had been may very possibly be with Kyle Williams and Dareus next season. The defense has gotten some breaks on turnovers which if they go a different way we could be 2-3 or even 1-4. My point is you just really don't know one year to the next because of how much can change and every other team/fanbase thinks the same thing. A lot of 1BD from what I've read and believed saw the 2017 schedule and figured 5-11/6-10. If you looked at the 17 schedule vs 18 I would've thought 18 was more favorable for a playoff year, but now they have a shot. They got through the worst portion 3-2 (until KC/NE) with a schedule now that looks plausible to hit 10 wins which you need for playoffs. But they have to get some help or at least take a chance to get help even if it is in FA.
  5. In regards to "too good to pass" the Bills got a quality CB and 2nd rnd pick from Watkins a player who may not have been even resigned had he stayed here. At the time they had Boldin and Matthews was acquired thanks to Gaines addition and Darby being disposable at that point. So yea at the time it actually was a pretty solid deal when the WR corp was Matthews, Boldin, & Zay Jones which wasn't bad. I do think if Beane had known that Matthews would get injured, Clay injured, and Boldin retired he may not make the deal, but hindsight is 20/20 and you couldn't have predicted all three of those things occurring. And I agree I would be stunned for them to make a move for a bigger name guy. I think they are hinging that Matthews comes back by the Jets/Saints game and if they go 2-1 all is well etc...
  6. Exactly. Before this season no one had them beating both ATL/DEN and everyone was pretty pessimistic on their chances. Next years schedule technically looks better compared to this one before the season started but we could go 1-4 and thats pretty much it. Take your chances when you can without mortgaging the future. They have 3 home games and a winnable Jets game coming up. If you go 3-1 and are sitting at 6-3 the idea of the playoffs isn't far fetched with games at home against IND/MIA and away at LAC/MIA. That's a pretty nice reasonable shot there and it would really suck if they refuse to do anything in the interest of the "future" which still is unknown.
  7. They made a move because they found one that was too good to pass up on. Beane said so himself and I wouldn't expect he wouldn't do the same to bring a guy in if the value matched. The Bills have zero proven WR's at this point with Matthews/Clay out. You will not win enough games even with Matthews back to make the playoffs as currently constructed. I said you do not need to sell the farm to bring in help or at minimum try.
  8. My focus was not on a specific player those were examples. The key would be trying to improve the roster in a major area of weakness so we stay competitive.
  9. The Bills have a pretty crucial period coming up with this bye week and then 3 games at home and playing the Jets. The opportunity is their for them to potentially go 3-1 and really give themselves a shot at a playoff berth. They also could lay an egg like they did this weekend and waste a good defense that did well enough despite some injuries. Whether or not the Bills make any moves in the next two weeks will show how much they care short term about the playoffs or solely focused on the future. I say this because regardless of my opinion on Tyrod he is going to be throwing at this starting passing group: Z Jones, B Tate, & N Oleary. I don't care who the QB is or if you want Peterman that group is not remotely good enough. If Matthews and Clay were both healthy then yea there is enough in terms of options to be OK passing the ball. But they are not going to be playing and Clay is probably done for the year at this point. To me you have to make a move or two; take a flier on Vincent Jackson and Gary Barnidge. They could flame out but at least it would show some urgency to not waste this years great defense. See if for a 3rd rnd pick you could get Travis Benjamin from LAC. If they sit their and do nothing I would find that incredibly disappointing in how they view the season. I and most fans are not asking for the Bills to sell the farm at this point and the process they have seems to be doing decent so far. At the same point even the most novice fan could look and say the Bills WR/TE corp is a mess and could use some chance of improvement. If the Bills do nothing it will be a start indication of how they view this season.
  10. Truthfully I'd rather have a winning season with the playoffs. That would lift an enormous burden off the franchise and finally shift the mindset back to winning the title not just getting in. Second you can get a franchise QB in a lot of places and this years draft has a lot of talent. The biggest thing is for the Bills to take a swing at some point this draft. Remember Bridgewater and Carr both fell wayyy down the board with Manziel and Bortles drafted ahead of both. Drafting up high only guarantees your pick of the litter not that success is for sure.
  11. The biggest issue against the run last week was the speed of ATL on the edges. Our D line made enough holes but our LB's couldnt cover them well enough. Cincys O line is not very strong so we should get an even better push and if our D line can make a few plays before the LOS then it should be a really good day.
  12. I mean I get it to a point. Buffalo even if your young does have a lot to do and nightlife/clubs, but it isn't Miami or NYC where you could literally spends a month in one sections clubs and bars etc..Same when it comes to festivals cultural events too. That is the difference between big cities and small. What surprises me though is that more players don't hit the Toronto or the Finger Lakes even.
  13. Hypothetical's really are just that. But regardless for the sake of fun no I don't think they are 2-2 they are 3-1 or 4-0. McD and Dennison have said each week is its own gameplan and how they dictate their plan is based off each opponent. Dennison straight up said they wanted to take shots and be aggressive this week because it was to their benefit and against DEN Tyrod was better in a 7 step drop then a 3 with that pass rush. Even if they won that CAR game changes on O were needed anyway with how poor the O played.
  14. Luck is a victim of circumstance and being with the worst managed team in football. His first 3 seasons they made the playoffs and went a round farther each year. Last season was probably his best despite a crappy O line and non existent defense and they still got 8 wins. I'm not sure who said he was the greatest QB prospect in history, he was one of the most surething bluechip passers though ever. The point with him is you could draft him and know you were getting a top 10 - top 5 QB.
  15. Actually the state had agreed to build a new state of the art stadium. Even with the dome not payed off St Louis was willing to do a new one.
  16. In defense of the Rams they were there for like 30 plus years and did draw well until Georgia Frontiere took over and forced a move to Anahiem and then demanded a new stadium. Back then cities were not as willing to give money so she gutted the team and waited until a city came available which it did in St Louis. She proceeded to move the team there and the rest is history. I do feel bad for St. Louis because they followed the NFL's policy to keep a team to the letter of the law and still got screwed. The Rams will do fine and if they keep winning I think they will see a good turnout. Plus once the new stadium hits it will be popular. The Chargers... well I'm thrilled to see their demise and issues. Zero reason the team needed to move and Spanos had a temper tantrum so I love seeing him get embarrassed weekly. The Chargers played exactly one season in LA so they never were an LA team. The NFL really failed in not forcing the team to stay in SD and even forcing a sale to get better ownership. I really believe the Chargers will be moving it just is a question of where and do not doubt London, NFL says by 2022 they are ready for a team.
  17. The Bills strong start has made it easy to forget about the excitement a lot of people had before the season for the college QB's that were hyped. Well we are now a month into the college football season and Sam Darnold is struggling to the point it is now very possible if not likely that he goes back to college after this season. Darnold still could turn out to be an incredible QB and if the Bills had a the opportunity to draft him I still hope they would (unless he continues into a tirefire). At the same point this is the exact reason why you do not tank a team for a singular player. In the history of professional football there have been three QB's who were such blue chip prospects that it was basically a guarantee, those being Elway, Manning, & Luck (Luck still has some to prove but he's legit). Otherwise it is so hard to predict a QB's success throughout college and into the NFL. The hype for Darnold hit a level of insanity this summer and I frankly am kind of happy its calmed a bit. He still could turn into a great pro as could Josh Allen who also road a crazy hype train into this season that he isn't meeting. A QB like the three that are above come around ever decade plus. Frankly the best thing you can do is what the Bills have done trying to build a strong team of players to setup a culture for long term success while having picks for the next draft. Tyrod is playing great and could be the guy, not looking to start that. At the same point the Bills have enough ammunition that if they want to grab a guy next draft they can without destroying the base they have laid. In closing can we calm the hype train after one good season for these college QB's. I get its fun to dream and be a fan, but Darnold is on a long list of QB's who entered a season with sky high expectations and isn't hitting them.
  18. Haha "fully pregnant" may be one of the all time worst things a coach has said before a season started
  19. Crabtree was a WR on that 49ers team and very underrated. He was good
  20. I don't know much about Carr outside of the field, but as someone who has had back spasms before they can be unbearable to the point you just lay down and don't move because its the only way your somewhat comfortable.
  21. I would say to McD's defense on the Panthers 2016 D's performance that secondary was a tire fire of inexperience. They lost both Norman and Tillman back there and were breaking in a really young group which got better in the 2nd half of the year. Add in the removal of Jared Allen and Kuechly injured up front and he had some real challenges there.
  22. I don't mind 1:00 pm but it does pretty much take over your day which is why I voted for 4:00pm. At 4 you can still do work around the house and then watch the game and have dinner. In regards to night games I actually enjoy the Thursday games because to me it feels like the start of the weekend (I also am off or have a half day every Friday so I am spoiled to be able to watch the entire game). Sunday/Monday night games start too late in general even though I find them exciting if the Bills are playing. If I had things my way the Bills would play 3-4 4pm games, have 1 Thursday night game, 1 Sunday/Monday night game, and the 10-11 1 pm games. Still plenty of 1 pm games for those who love them, but a little more variance throughout the year.
  23. I think he is a decent coach probably better then a lot. I never bought he was a genius above boys the way BB is and in general think he gets over hyped by the media. At the same point BB has had games with very questionable decision making including that Jets OT loss where they punted to start which cost them home field in the playoffs. Being on national TV just displayed the mistake more then we normally would see. He will at least be in Zona for one, if not two more seasons most likely. If you watched the All or Nothing series on Amazon he is extremely tight with team president Michael Bidwell and I think they give him the chance with a QB that he gets to pick in the draft.
  24. Since I started regularly going and tailgating from 7:30/8ish on in 2010 I have noticed that fan behavior has improved a bunch. I think this is due to a few reasons: -Better enforcement of the Bills lots tailgating wise. You can still drink and party but they do a much better job monitoring -9am opening of lots and curbing beer after half time at least limits some massive consumption on property -Ownership is stable and a conscious effort towards trying to win is there. I never doubted Ralph's desire to win but today's Bills at least operate like a 21st century operation not like a late 90s one which did feel dated and behind the times. -While no playoffs, the team has become more watchable since 2013 on. Since 2013 they have been in the hunt/actually been .500 or above twice now and even last season were 7-7 with a chance in the final two. Obviously still not great but attending the last few years I've had at least some optimism compared to 2009-12 when I went and it literally felt like going to party and not much else; a win felt like a surprise. The idiots still exist and games against the Pats/Jets I've found to still have a lot of blood boiling, but otherwise I think people have chilled out a bit.
