  1. Agreed. Tampa Bay got a SB in this last decade so their fans are happier, but literally pre Brady they did not matter in the league universe whereas Dallas over the same time span was a pretty solid consistent team. They seem to be a team that drafts pretty well and at times adds talent although it is questionable some moves they make. It is the last part of the boring time of football so it was an interesting case study when you compare the teams around them in playoff appearances. Seattle is the closest comparable and I think Dallas has been a more competitive team over the last decade then Seattle.
  2. Sure but my point is over the last decade they are clearly a top 10 team they just haven't had any playoff success. Pre 2016 I would agree. But the last decade the numbers show they've been in the top 10 for wins, playoff appearances, and division crowns. Come playoff time they just can't do a thing. A team being in the top 1/3 of the NFL is not mediocre.
  3. A lot was made during the schedule release that Dallas is on primetime too much and more so they are not good enough to deserve the attention. There is no doubt that the team is overexposed which is intentional because of Jerry Jones. The dude may be annoying as hell, but he is brand wizard which I do respect him for. With that said I love seeing Dallas with egg on their face so I take a certain satisfaction in their primetime losses (Ayooo 2019 Bills baby!).This did get me thinking though how has Dallas done comparatively over the last decade and are they really overrated or just ringlessly successful. Welp I spent at least 11 minutes and got the following to discuss: Over the past decade Dallas has... -Won four division crowns -Made the playoffs six of the ten years. -Three of their playoff losses were in the divisional round including 2016 which Dallas was the 1 seed only to be upset by Rodgers and the Pack last second on a FG -Overall record of 93-71 good enough for a 56% win rate -.500 or better in seven of ten seasons -In 2020 and 2024 Dak was hurt. In 2020 when Dak got hurt for the season their offense was averaging 26.9 ppg, last year Dak never was fully healthy -They have had star players over that time including Dak, Zeke, Micah Parsons, Cede Lamb, Dez Bryant, Amari Cooper, DeMarcus Lawrence etc.. Of the 32 NFL teams only the following have won more division crowns: KC, Buffalo, New England, Minnesota, & Houston And the following teams have won four division crowns: Baltimore, Green Bay, LA Rams, Philly, & Tampa The following teams have six or more playoffs appearances: KC, Buffalo, Baltimore, Green Bay, LA Rams, New England, Pittsburgh, Philly, & Seattle (Dallas & Seattle are the only two teams of the ten with six playoffs appearances or more to not have made a title game in the last decade.) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Looking all of this over Dallas has been a top 10 team in the league for the last decade, its the non-surprisingly playoffs where any real success has eluded them. Tampa has a SB and four division crowns, but was not a good franchise until Brady arrived in 2020. By comparison Dallas was a more consistent yearly winner both in record and division crowns. Seattle has been more of a wildcard team in this time as their last division crown was 2020 and before that 2016. Five of the Cowboys playoff losses were one score losses which they had their chances in and for one reason or another couldn't breakthrough. The 49ers have 5 primetime games this year and over the last decade have been a far lessor regular season team with only four playoff appearances in that time. But the 49ers have made two Super Bowls and three NFC title games during that stretch again absolving them of similar criticism. The coverage of the Cowboys given the brand and market certainly can feel overblown and probably is to some extent, but the brass numbers paint a pretty successful franchise that networks can count on for solid games year in year out which is part of why they are included so frequently. Truthfully if you think it is annoying now, had Dallas broken through during this time and made a SB it would probably be even worse (if that is even possible). At the same time Dallas run and inability to breakthrough does beg the question have they wasted a major window and if they fade will the coverage still be the same. Again for you all to decide haha
  4. I declined my invite. Had kids birthday parties instead, sorry Josh!
  5. lol which was not a good thing The day the music died and survived all at once
  6. This is good for a laugh and how desperate things are in Believeland, their local radio station literally tracked the four QBs stats in OTAs today: https://www.instagram.com/p/DKNTKKOxL9I/ I did not know this was even possible.
  7. I completely forgot how bad that game was because the refs called a million penalties
  8. been a real man of the people Because he was part of replacing Poyer/Hyde combo. On my list of issues on the defense last year the safeties were not nearly as high as CB2 CB4 and the D line. Rapp I thought was really solid and Hamlin was serviceable. We just had such high level play that anyone after that is even a step down doesn't match. I am fine with the safeties being Rapp/Bishop for a few years.
  9. Lmao. Piece of cake win week 1 and your looking at 17-0
  10. Agreed. In theory it sounds good until you see it in person.
  11. Never forgot him sitting on the sideline not doing a thing AFC title game. Never cheered or got up to support his guys, there is a 50/50 chance it was just a body double lol
  12. Literally last year McD on why they like going to camp: https://www.buffalorumblings.com/2024/7/25/24205694/buffalo-bills-head-coach-sean-mcdermott-talks-about-the-state-of-the-roster-not-a-rebuild Stop repeating yourself I get it you think the $ should be looked at. The head coach and GM don't care and have their value of being at SJF right now.
  13. My dad once watched them at Sheridan park with like 100 people. The list of where training camp use to be is quite wild honestly.
  14. Do you work for the Bills or something to be so considered with margin and expenses lol The NFL prints money this is a drop in the bucket.
  15. In today's NFL where most teams do not do camp like that, access is very limited, and it is very corporate driven if not monetized also; BUF is one of the few remaining like PIT/GB where it is a far more relaxed old school feel. The NFL has very few things that are so open and free for fans like this. I expect at some point it will end because everything is monetized now by the NFL, but while it exists I am happy for fans and families that get a more unique experience then what exists at most of the NFL teams.
  16. Bud the GM & Coach only care about what is best for the team. You are only thinking of it from a fan perspective and honestly your perspective is really wrong considering how many fans like how close you can get to the team and the access provided that doesn't exist anymore. Sounds like you have had poor experiences in Pittsford, but for many families and kids especially you are not getting near the same experience in stadium as you do at SJF. And to repeat again the GM & Coach will do what they believe is in the best interest of the team cost be damned. If they feel this is what is best they will do so and Pegula has smartly let them and stayed the heck out of it.
  17. Falcons loss is certainly possible. Would be their fourth night game on the road against a Falcons talent that has some real talent up on offense. Buffalo loses a game or two yearly that you don't expect or fans underestimate and I can certainly see that. So division wise it is extremely difficult to go 6-0 which they would've been last year if they needed week 18. Even when the Pats had their major run I think they only swept the division two or three times. Of the three AFCE foes Pats make the most sense to be the biggest threat as Maye is young and shown some real flashes, their defense is solid as heck, and regardless of your opinion Vrabel was a very solid coach for TEN who caused the Bills headaches a few times plus he did win the division twice and make the AFC title. The Jets are the Jets and a mess with no QB, the Phins seem to be regressing as their expensive vets age, so realistically if the Bills lose a divisional game NE feels like the right pick at this point.
  18. Again literally the coach and GM have said they find value in this for team which is why it continues. It has zero to do with regionalization, just the fact GM/Coach find it a good thing they like for the team. As long as they see it that way it will not change.
  19. Respectfully Pegula could care less. Beane & McD both have actively said they like going to Rochester even if it is more prorated at 2 1/2 weeks now compared to the nearly month long time they use to be here. The Bills already do the return of the Blue & Red at the stadium which is big draw for the fans. Now in the future is Rochester maybe more of a week long thing? Possibly. But they updated their facilities back in 2019 and still have choose Rochester since so the idea of the new stadium being the changer really doesn't hold water because the facilities at their home base matter way more then the stadium which they only really use for major events.
  20. With Josh the offense can be top 10, you need the defense to actually be good so for one post season come KC/CIN/BAL the offense is not expected to put up 27-30 pts and the defense can hold an opponent to 20 pts or less.
  21. Eagles will be interesting. Buffalo hung really well with them two years ago and I think (HOPE) the defensive line finally is strong enough for that type of matchup. I honestly hope both teams need it because it is a good litmus test of the team. I don't mind primetime at all as you expect it, but four out of seven is just a tough way to opener when you'd prefer it more spread. But can't have it all either haha
  22. I would disagree. It is a game you really want to have, but the Ravens schedule is pretty brutal also so it is not end of the world.
  23. Aight everyone Corta here and we got the schedule so I am here with my analysis of how it looks for the Bills and the fans. Before I jump into that I will recap that this was not my best prediction year for the schedule. In the past I have averaged 2-3 games right on the dot plus another 2-3 games off by only a week. This year I unfortunately got none I missed by one week on New York, the bye week. and Carolina. I had Houston at night but MNF not TNF the same with the Patriots as I had them on TNF and it is a SNF game. Like Mel Kiper I keep my job for another year, but this was not my best showing haha. With that said though it leads me into my review of the Bills schedule from the team standpoint as it is very interesting how the chips fell. Bills Thoughts If you take a look at the Vikings or Broncos schedules you will four night games, a game or two abroad, a few 4:25 games, and games on Xmas. If you had told me the Bills had four primetime games, one abroad, 3x 4:25 games, a game on Xmas, and one abroad I would have said that fits given what had been speculated and league trends with the NFLs elite teams playing on the major holidays. Thankfully for the Bills they managed to dodge the awful rest component of going abroad and up and down nature of playing on the holidays. As it was before the schedule was released the Bills already were going to travel the 2nd least all season of any NFL team with just one game (HOU) outside of the eastern time zone. Opening four of the first five at home is big and you can really see a path to 5-1 by the bye, 4-2 at worst. One of the things I like even though Thursday Night Games are not the best on the players is the artificial bye it creates. The Bills bye being week 7 is not the best but it could be worse. After the Houston game week 12 the Bills get 10 days rest before three of the next four on the road with the sole home game being vs Cincy. That is a nice help in what is probably the hardest portion of the schedule just in terms of travel for the team. The Bills only Monday Night Game has a bye after it so the team has just one game the remainder of the year not on Sunday which again is good for the routine coaches and players prefer. Their toughest matchups are spread out across the schedule with the PHI game being so late it is a bit curious given both teams potentially may have nothing to play for at that point. If there is one negative looking at the schedule for the team it is weeks 11-16 where they are home just twice before closing at home the remaining two weeks. Realistically if there has ever been a year where the 1 seed truly feels there for the taking it is 2025. They really should be 5-1/4-2 at worst out of the gate, even after that they have plenty of winnable road matchups where the Bills overall talent should help carry the day. After Baltimore there is not a single game Buffalo will not be favored in and have a sizable advantage in the first six games so even if the defense is adjusting the offense should be able to take care of things. One nice thing with the bye week being week 7 is our two new suspended additions get an extra week before their first game which will allow more time for both to integrate into the team. Larry Ogunjobi & Michael Hoecht cannot be with the Bills in any capacity until after week 4 concludes. Weeks 5-6 they can rejoin the team and get prepped for the remainder of the year. I really think Buffalo will benefit by them having an extra week of time to learn the defense and where things are before they step onto the field. Because the Eagles game is so late in the year the Bills will most likely by then already know the seeding scenarios related to the AFC and it allows them a little leash if they get their work done prior. One other thing related to the Bills with the 1 seed is the Chiefs schedule is brutal travel wise this year. Their opening alone is in Brazil vs LAC, then back to KC vs PHI which is brutal matchup, before then heading to the Giants for SNF week 3 and then being home week 4 against BAL. Their schedule balances a bit after that and they close LAC, at TEN, DEN, at Raiders which is not murders row by any means, but hopefully they have quiet a few losses by that point where they have to press. Fan Thoughts To start off I think the majority of fans are thrilled that we have no games on either Thanksgiving or Xmas especially this year. No overseas game is probably good for a lot of us although for Bills fans in Europe it probably is a bummer they did not make it across the pond. I think where things get dicey is just 6 games this year at 1pm and at home only two at 1pm at this point. For season ticket holders I got to believe their is some frustration with three of the first four games at night and in general it has gotten tiring that the NFL constantly puts the Bills in these big clumps of primetime games instead of spreading them out a bit more. 2022 by comparison was far more ideal as the primetime games were spread across a bit more which made it easier if you wanted to attend all of them. But the NFL really wants Buffalo in that 4:25 window now with the PIT, CIN, & PHI games all being the game of the week at the end of the season. Buffalo can be flexed into a game later as they are not at the max and I have wondered if the NFL intentionally placed those games in that spot for that reason also (although I doubt FOX/CBS wants to lose them). Atlanta being a Monday Night Game is a bit of a bummer because instead of having Monday to travel home if the game would have been Sunday you have to take a day of vacation. Again not the end of the world but if your targeting away games which many fans do with holiday weekends, ATL was a more attractive one which now is a bit harder to attend. On the flipside Carolina being the end of October and Miami the 2nd weekend of November are great opportunities to get to some better weather and see the Bills as our weather changes in WNY. I can see the Cleveland game being one of those ones that Bills fans takeover as it will be late in the year when the Browns are out of it and the Bills are battling hopefully for the 1 seed. Overall I would give the schedule for fans a B-. There are some clear positives especially with no holidays or games abroad and the majority of the season post bye being at 1 or 4:25. But the opening six games is tough for season ticket holders and fans in general especially in the last year at the Ralph. I think many fans had warmed up to the idea of closing the stadiums regular season finale as week 17 game which would have some meaning to it, whereas week 18 very possibly is a backups game that isn't as glowy.
  24. That was my thought is they flex it. if you look at a lot of the 4:25 games in the back half they are all very possible to be flex'd if needed.
