  1. I'm so weird. I still get nervous watching replays of that kick because of how close Hamilton got to blocking it.
  2. Watching from home, one of the more fun parts was right after the fumble - the crowd just went nuts. It felt like such a quiet game to that point, and w/ that one play, everyone there was all in. That really gave it a feeling of "okay, we've got this now."
  3. I noticed that. It was so strange - they showed about 3-4 plays that were almost inconsequential (like Cook picking up 4 yards), but didn't show the pass to Palmer, which was an absolutely huge play in that comeback.
  4. Most of the narrative I heard yesterday was more about the idea that the Ravens choked the game away vs. giving the Bills much credit. There was a lot of "wow" reaction for Allen himself, but the general feeling seemed to be that the Ravens gave it away more than the Bills took it. I know I'm biased - but I really think that's a bogus narrative. Every team in the league would have played it conservative w/ the lead the Ravens had later in the game, and with the way they were dominating. The Henry fumble was uncharacteristic for him - but turnovers are a part of any game. And the 4th & 3 was a 50/50 call. In real time, I was sure they would punt it. It's only in hindsight because they lost that many are 2nd guessing that decision (imo). The Ravens didn't play "bad" at the end. The Bills took advantage of the one mistake - which Ed Oliver caused - and otherwise made big play after big play in that 4th quarter to steal that win. We won that game. The Ravens didn't lose it.
  5. Man, kicking the ball out of bounds was kind of a no brainer there. Time is more important than those few penalty yards.
  6. There must be some sort of training in pro sports for cryptic tweeting.
  7. Glad to hear this. That was really ridiculous.
  8. If you're someone who continually tries to diminish Allen's accomplishments (looking your way, KC fans) - the Ravens lost it. If you're a fan of the game, the Bills dug deep, took advantage of 4th quarter mistakes and pulled out one of the most miraculous comebacks in ages.
  9. On the tipped pass - was it supposed to go to Coleman, or someone else? Either way, no way Knox should have been trying to get to it! Not sure what he was thinking there....
  10. Harrison's hate will always make me smile. I hope he spends these seasons while we're on top gritting his teeth down to the gums.
  11. Looking at online reactions, there is basically universal praise for the game & for Allen. Except online Chiefs fans. How is that group still SO salty?
  12. To me, that decision was a no brainer, cramping or no cramping. I don't really get the 2nd guessing. Yes, you have to respect Allen's ability to drive the Bills down w/ that amount of time left, but if you go for it & don't make it, you're just handing the game to the Bills.
  13. I was happy w/ our rush, and our line in general. The defense in general is a concern, though. We should get upgrades with our 1st round pick & 2 acquisitions coming in sometime in October. I'd really like to see us get Peppers or someone else to shore up our safety unit. Our LB's are what they are - but that's largely good. Both Milano & Bernard are fast & play smart, but we do sacrifice size for speed in that position group. And that can hurt us against the Henry's of the world. Good thing there is only one Henry of the world.
  14. I didn't see it as him speaking down to the fans in any way. To me, it was more how you'd speak to members of your family if they did something that surprised you a bit.
  15. There is just something about Bass's kicks. His percentage is fine, but quite a few just seem to be fading right, even on PAT's. It was just good to see someone nailing the easy ones down the middle.
  16. Good ol' Nicky has been coming around the past couple of years.
  17. I thought it was PI on that last one to Coleman, too. Looked like the DB was holding his shoulder pad the whole time.
  18. The O-line was great last night. So important when you have a top tier QB. Protect that guy, and he will make things happen.
  19. Just watching the replay - they also spotted Shakir short on that flip pass from Allen. He clearly got the 1st down.
  20. The play call on the 1st try was weird to me. We only did it because of the penalty, which put the ball on the 1. But choosing to go shotgun & throw it there made that a moot point. They could have done that from the regular spot.
  21. I'm so glad I didn't see how close that was when it happened. When I watched the replay, I saw Hamilton immediately cover his face in his hands like he just missed it, and sure enough, when I watched it again, I was like 'how did he miss blocking that?' We had some good luck last night.
  22. It's not just you. And it started w/ that 4th down in the KC game last year. That 1st down Josh made was clear & obvious. Maybe they didn't have a great angle, but that could have been a game-changing spot if we hadn't won.
  23. I was kind of hoping someone would start this discussion. Overall, I don't think our D is as bad as it looked last night. But the safety position was glaring. I'm not sure if we can just stand pat there. I kind of hope they're considering Peppers right now.
  24. It was one of those games where we felt so outclassed for most of it that it was easy to settle into "it's just game 1 - at least the rest of the division lost" mode. Like most, I had basically given up on getting a W. I was hoping most of the 2nd half that they could just make it respectable. But it was always on my mind that we stayed within 2 scores the whole time, and that we had the ability to make up that gap. I had faith in Allen & the O to do that. I didn't have the same faith in the defense to get the stops. It was Oliver causing that fumble that turned the game.
  25. I kept thinking last night that we should sign Peppers. That unit really struggled, imo.
