  1. I would have been bummed if the Chiefs got Harris, or the Bengals got Kincaid. I know what you're saying to an extent. But as much as I hate them, I have to look at the blueprint the Patriots set. They never would have even considered a Diggs/Hopkins kind of combo of elite receivers. They only invested in an elite receiver once, and that didn't pan out for them. It was more about the trenches, and building more physical teams. I don't think we need to do the exact same things, but I've never been on the Hopkins train.
  2. Gotta disagree. We upgraded on the O-line, at RB, and at WR. People are sleeping on Harris a bit - his issue is injuries, but when healthy, he'll be a revelation. We will finally have a running game. Obviously, Kincaid hasn't played yet - but he has the skills to create real match-up problems for defenses, in a way that we have not been able to do. Harty & Sherfield both address weaknesses we had in our WR corps last year - both have great hands, are physical and get good YAC. Shakir and Cook are both coming into a pivotal 2nd year after showing a lot of promise as the season went on last year. If Davis can rebound, and Brown can take that next step - this will be the best offense we have had in the JA era, and possibly in Buffalo's history.
  3. I get that, and I don't want to be hyper-critical about a single comment. But it has definitely made the story take off nationally. Belichick had the same question today about Lawrence Guy's absence, and all he said was that the reporters would have to talk to Guy. It was still a story, but he handles that stuff a bit better (imo).
  4. And here I was setting up for a boring June Tuesday.....
  5. I kind of wish McD had kept it closer to the vest on this one. It's the "very concerned" comment that really gave this one legs nationally...
  6. I don't think I've ever seen Diggs give less than full effort on a play, or mail it in. This stuff isn't a big deal. If it starts impacting the season & his play on Sundays, it will be a concern.
  7. I think I may be the biggest detractor to the "we need another receiver" argument. I mean, just look at NFL history. Depth at the receiver position prevails more often than not. The idea that you need a 1A and 1B or something like that just isn't consistent w/ the teams that actually win titles. And Allen will have a TON to work w/ this year. Harty & Sherfield are both upgrades, and Kincaid has a crazy high ceiling and should be open 24x7. Watch how much our pass game improves w/ Allen having both a little more time in the pocket, and a real running game.
  8. Did he really say we did nothing on the offensive side? That's quite a take.
  9. The G-men have always been the NFC team I root for. They're NY, and I'm forever indebted to them for 18-1.
  10. He's not a great coach. But some don't seem to realize how hard it is to find a "great" coach. I'd say that 2-3 coaches right now could be classified as "great." McD is good. It would be a huge risk to try to replace him.
  11. It wasn't a "created narrative." It was obvious in both the Miami and Cincy playoff games. Everyone who watched the Bills dominate most of the season was like, "who is this team?" It was no big mystery. They looked emotionally drained, because they were. A popular teammate dying on the field, 2 blizzards w/ a relocation, a rash of injuries - to call all of that an excuse is to deny that football players are actually human beings, also.
  12. Everything this guy said about the Hamlin situation and its effect on the rest of the season was spot on. And that's not an excuse. It's something that actually happened.
  13. Big props to this guy. I have gotten so tired of the mantra all over the internet - the Bills will take a step back, their window is closing, they're going to regress. I've seen those comments SO many times. And they're lazy. Every time I see a comment like that, I'm like, "are you paying attention?" On paper, this is the best, most balanced & complete team of the JA era. We've upgraded in so many areas - not least of which is finally setting up what could be an excellent run game. But we're also more physical, and just better overall.
  14. If Hopkins DOES go to the Pats - I would not take that team lightly. Their D is legit, and the only reason they didn't make the playoffs was because the O was so bad. O'Brien will impact that, and signing Hopkins could make that offense above average. Which is all they need to be.
  15. I tried, but all I heard was Charlie Brown's teacher.
  16. Sad news. I respect any true fan, anywhere. Hope the best for his family.
  17. A curse can't be a part-time curse. The "curse of the Bambino" was broken the minute the Red Sox won a World Series. It didn't linger around after that - it doesn't just get all cursey when it's in the mood. There have been several players over the past decade who had great seasons and even won Super Bowls after being on the cover. That ain't a curse, and if there was one previously, it's OVER now. I hope this small primer on the nature of curses has helped. Josh Allen is winning the Super Bowl this season (sorry - jinxes don't exist either).
  18. What a list. I talked myself into every one of those guys, too. We actually had a fierce debate among the fanbase about Losman vs. Edwards.
  19. From what I can tell - it's more that they just don't like Allen. A lot of "what has he done?" kinds of comments, and even mentioning that Burrow has accomplished more. I mean, it's a video game. People get upset about odd stuff.
  20. Man - the Chiefs & Bengals fanbases don't seem to like this one bit. I've seen so many pronouncements about the kind of QB Allen is based solely on the Cincy playoff game. Like, literally the worst game I've seen him have in the past 3 years.
  21. Curses are NOT real. And just to be sure, I'm going to go write that on a blackboard 100x.
  22. Reading something like that makes everything aside from health seem so unimportant & trivial. I'm so glad she shared this. The positive vibes from this community can only help. Hoping for the best possible outcome.
  23. Personally, I never saw it as a real possibility. His contract is too big for our cap.
  24. Not unfair points. But the GM can't control everything. He can build a team that's capable of winning a championship - but then things fall to the players, coaches and circumstances. Last year - at least to me - it was the last one. The Bills were the best team in the league for long stretches, especially in the 1st few months. Then, injury & a series of pretty tough circumstances followed. In the Cincy game, we looked like a team that was emotionally drained. Some can call that an excuse, or say that a team should be able to rise above and all that - but that's all out of the scope of what a GM can do. He put a team together that was capable of winning the SB - that can be said of the last 2 seasons, and I believe it can be said about the '23 team.
  25. My post was more about the totality of the moves since the offseason started. And Floyd is 30, btw.
