  1. Has McD taken on too much being DC & HC?
  2. Martin, baby. It's like the old days - we've got a punting game!
  3. One of my biggest pet peeves is preseason overreaction. But, I have one. I really don't know if we have a good DC or OC right now. We might - but McD trying to be HC and DC has been a concern, and still is. And the jury is still way out on Dorsey.
  4. Well, Davis looks great at least....
  5. That's on them. People forget what preseason is about. No DC or OC shows their hand in preseason.
  6. Reminder: it's mid-August.
  7. As long as Martin keeps punting like that. we'll coast this season.
  8. He's 41. That's pretty old.
  9. The more egregious calls were in the AFCCG, imo. If I was a Cincy fan, those would have stuck w/ me. Just terrible, game-changing calls. But, I'm also of the school of thought that there are a few of those in almost every game. KC did benefit, in that case. If the Bills ever win an AFCCG or SB because of a bad call or 2, I certainly won't complain. And every fanbase probably feels like they are owed that.
  10. It's no criticism of McD - but I always flinch a bit when people say Mahomes is better than Allen because of the success KC has had. Reid is the difference-maker there. He's just a better coach - really, the best in the league at this point, at least imo. We won't know until the end of their careers how Allen & Mahomes will stack up against each other in future QB rankings. But I'd bet it's a lot closer than it appears right now, and that Allen has a chance to be viewed as the best of his generation in time.
  11. I've gotta disagree. We've spent years now watching JA run for his life & dazzle w/ his moves to elude the rush - but that's not a good thing. Imagine if he had a second or 2 more back there, where he could be more calm & survey the field before having to make a move? Time in the pocket is everything. And we hear it all of the time from ex players & coaches - you build the trenches. The trenches are where championships are won.
  12. That's what the Colts did w/ Manning, practically every year. They got 1 SB out of it. The Pats didn't - and got 6.
  13. I truly don't care. I love who we have at WR. Did people miss the Patriots dynasty? (sorry to bring it up) When did they ever go all in on some kind of elite WR corps for Brady? One time I can think of, over 15+ years - when they got Moss. And they notably didn't win a SB with him. When you have a top QB, you build the line. That's what the Bills are doing. Brady had a great line, and made stars out of middlin' guys (would we have even heard of Edelman if he played for another team?) Give Allen some time in the pocket, and guys like Sherfield & Harty are going to have great seasons. And I think we're getting the Davis we expected last year, this year.
  14. Mick in "Rocky" was right.
  15. Van Pelt is still the best in the business. I still watch a lot of the rest of the stuff, but don't love it.
  16. Oh, for sure. I think our line is a LOT better, actually. My comment was about the Patriots O-line, which looks to be worse than last year.
  17. Feels like our division rivals are going all in to try to unseat the Bills. If the Bills win the division again, some of our rivals could start to spiral. We saw it firsthand w/ the Pats being on top for so long. Owners get impatient, coaches get fired, QB's don't get the grace period they normally would. Teams start panicking and making more drastic moves to bridge the gap, and it rarely works.
  18. I kind of like the new paradigm in the AFCE - where every other team scrambles and tries to make moves to keep up w/ US. Especially the Pats. It's what we did for almost 20 years. And it was a drag.
  19. Have FA players ever heard of the NFC?
  20. Fitting, since I sense the Patriots are going to look a lot like the post-90s dynasty Cowboys in the years ahead. This isn't moving any needle for them. 4th place is waiting for you, New England.
  21. Kind of head-scratching why they didn't keep a younger, better RB who would have cost less than half of what they're paying Zeke. But thanks, New England.
  22. Most of the PFF positional rankings heading into 2023 agree w/ my analysis.
  23. Great discussion & analysis on this thread. Some hot takes, too - which can be expected. But a really enjoyable read overall.
