  1. I've been on a low-cholesterol diet, and have been doing great for over a month - so I think this will be a cheat night for me. Mushroom/swiss burgers, wings, fries, beer. Back to fish & tofu on Monday.
  2. "Jaws" when I was 10. I sat in the front row. I was afraid to go in the deep end of a pool for a few years after that. And to this day, when I swim in the ocean, I'm always looking around for a fin. EDIT: I'm kind of shocked - I just checked, and online it says "Jaws" was rated PG. Which is pretty surprising. I think the 1st R I saw was Alien, then. A crazy one to watch when I was that age, but the violent scenes didn't stick w/ me like "Jaws" did.
  3. They're struggling to beat some of the worst teams in the league. At this point, maybe it doesn't mean much. They've won a couple of titles, and might be in a mode of just starting slow, working out the kinks, etc., before they kick into a higher gear later in the season. But they're not passing the eye test for me. I went into the season thinking that WR corps would be an achilles heel for them, and that seems to be the case. Not sure if they can overcome that without an acquisition by the deadline
  4. The Chiefs were always winning a lot in this stretch. The hard part of their schedule is later in the season. We can keep pace. The head-to-head will be pretty crucial in terms of playoff seeding.
  5. 1st time I've felt pretty confident about facing Mahomes & that O. So, of course, their D is lights out now. They've done a good job building there. Great pass rush, and McDuffie looked really good, which made me a little envious looking back on that draft.
  6. Always?
  7. I actually dislike the Chiefs more than the Patriots. Never thought I'd dislike a team as much as the Pats. Feels weird, but good.
  8. Watching Payton - I'm so glad McD is our coach.
  9. I don't concur.. I've watched enough of the Chiefs this season. They'll coast because of their easy schedule - but that is not a championship team this year..
  10. I need some help here: Why did genius Payton call a TO there? Like....WHY?!!!!!!!!!!
  11. Who should we root for....the Broncos, or Chiefs? Sorry, just feeling goofy. Here's hoping Russell Wilson has a vintage Russell Wilson game, and Denver gets one of their 2 wins for the season.
  12. We'll learn how well we adjust to losing players to injury. It doesn't matter how bad our opponents are - we'll have a pretty good idea.
  13. I like the Niners. The NFL's new villains are undoubtedly the Chiefs.
  14. Our line is deep, and talented. Losing Jones hurts, but we don't need to trade for that position unit (imo).
  15. It seems like every year, there is some "generational prospect" at QB who gets hyped. Sometimes they pan out, and sometimes they don't. It's very rare they actually match or exceed expectations.
  16. During the Brady years, I was hoping that this was the kind of thread title I'd see on here in 2023. Pinch me.
  17. This is appropriate at this time. For anyone who remembers, it was the G-men who exemplified the idea of overcoming adversity in the 2007 season. That was the promo leading up to the SB - "resiliency!" Tiki Barber decided to retire. Their next best back, Ward, got injured. Their best offensive player, Shockey, got injured. Everyone wrote them off. And they proceeded to go on a legendary playoff run, culminating in one of the greatest upsets in sports history. It's all about embracing adversity, and rallying around it. Treat challenges as opportunities. This Bills team can take the 1st step toward doing that by beating a team who set the standard for it.
  18. I can't disagree w/ that, either! Our O has been kind of schizophrenic. The talent is there, imo. I just really don't know about Dorsey, still. I saw what Jax was doing w/ their run game - I'm not an x's and o's guy, but it just seemed more creative than what we do. Unpredictable.
  19. I can't really disagree w/ that. But circumstances today are just different. Davis is playing pretty well, and Sherfield has made the most of the few moments he has had. Meanwhile, we lost 3 of our best players on D. The offense is a very minor concern right now, despite the Jags game, which was just all kinds of weirdness anyway. I would think if we're going to trade and give up valuable capital from either the draft or the roster, it would be to bolster positions like LB or CB, where we're now thin.
  20. I don't. It's not a need. And we HAVE needs. Dorsey needs to start using the guys we have better. Sherfield, Harty & Kincaid can all play - we need to start spreading the ball around more
  21. The Jags game was such a weird game. I'm betting our offense is much more like the Miami game than the Jags game. And that offense is so much better than the vast majority of teams in the AFC. Or NFC, for that matter. I think this team has a big run coming. We'll be having different conversations in a month or so (and waiting for updates on Jones & Milano).
  22. That changed in a day - because we lost 2 guys, who might even make it back this season?
  23. That's actually extremely encouraging. It sounds like there is NOT any significant ligament damage for Milano, and that the recovery is for the fracture. If we get him back for the playoffs - what a boost that would be for the team & our chances.
  24. I don't think we're in too much disagreement - but I think some of the characterizations like "fatally flawed" and "gaping weaknesses" are too extreme. Anytime a team loses a great player it leaves a hole, but our defense is so good that we basically just need the replacement to be solid. I think Williams can be that, w/ Klein maybe filling in on run downs. Like I said - I don't see a team in the AFC that's better, even today. I think we're right on par w/ the top teams, who I consider to be the Chiefs and Dolphins. I also think this Bills team is less flawed, and has fewer weaknesses, than any team in the JA era. Losing Milano hurts, but I think there has been a pretty strong overreaction to how it affects our chances to contend for a title this year.
  25. We could run the table, and it wouldn't be some huge surprise. There isn't a team in the AFC that is measurably better than the Bills. Most nationally had us as the top team in the AFC after we beat Miami. That changes dramatically because we lost Milano & Jones? Looking at that schedule, I could see a good run up through the Eagles game. I'm NOT afraid of KC this year; it's the weakest team they've had in the Mahomes era. The Cowboys aren't a good team. That stretch doesn't look nearly as hard as it did a month ago. If Williams & Ford aren't up to the task, I'm wrong about our prospects. But I think they'll be solid, our D will still be one of the best in the league, and we'll win more than some fans here think. The 1 seed is still on the table.
