  1. Finally! An answer to a question almost as old as time. It was Brady.
  2. How can you say that the team is not good enough to withstand the loss of the 3 players....and then we don't even know what our new D looks like?
  3. The reporting on the injuries to Jones & Milano has been pretty thin, but I take some positives from the fact that neither has been ruled out for a return this season. They at least hope that the timeline for recoveries is good. If that's the case - this version of the D just has to hold it down until January. They'll take some lumps, but w/ the offense we have, we can still get one of the top seeds w/ this D. I think even the 1 seed is still very much in play. Then, if we get 1 or both back, it's the old, often repeated "fully operational Death Star" thing. As long as we stay relatively healthy the rest of the way.
  4. I think London was an anomaly. He played well last season. He has talent. They need to develop him this season without Tre out there, so at minimum he is very good depth.
  5. A shutdown corner? I mean, what cap space do we have? Are we willing to give up a 1st round draft pick? Seems unrealistic.
  6. "Fatally flawed" has been mentioned here a few times since last week. That strikes me as such an extreme characterization. It implies something that this team simply can't overcome. I just don't subscribe to that. Losing Jones & Milano hurts - but we were dominating on defense for the 1st month of the season. Losing 2 players doesn't suddenly make us ineffective, or take us to the lower tier of the league.
  7. Football Sundays are usually a noon to midnight affair w/ me anyway - but man, are the games tomorrow boring. Might just get in a little bit of yard work before the late games. Probably start watching around 5, & getting the drinks and food ready for the main event.
  8. It's not as good as it was a few weeks ago - but I still would have it in the 5-10 range in the league rankings. The front will still be among the best at getting pressure on the QB, and the LB's and secondary are both solid. All this talk of the Bills having to win shootouts now - it's kind of mystifying to me. We've been one of the best defenses in terms of keeping opponents from scoring. Even though we're not as strong w/out Milano & White, it's not like we're going from that to giving up 20-30 a game or something.
  9. Be pretty boozed up. But that's if we win, too.
  10. Seriously? I haven't read anything like that. If it's broken, it's definitely surprising that he was full in the last practice.
  11. Clark is one of the good ones (there aren't many).
  12. I can accept the Jags loss - weird game, London, injuries, weird game. I can't accept a loss Sunday. We're home, and we should win this game 9x out of 10.
  13. As others have stated - no. But, it could be a wash losing a big playmaker on D, and getting one back from injury. Maybe not a complete wash, but Von will be disruptive just as Milano was, only in a different way. The LB corps will be a question mark for awhile, and may be a weakness. We'll have to see how it goes w/ Williams and Klein. I'm excited to see Williams play & see how he develops. And, I'm still heartened by the fact that they have not ruled Milano out for the season.
  14. I've been on a low-cholesterol diet, and have been doing great for over a month - so I think this will be a cheat night for me. Mushroom/swiss burgers, wings, fries, beer. Back to fish & tofu on Monday.
  15. "Jaws" when I was 10. I sat in the front row. I was afraid to go in the deep end of a pool for a few years after that. And to this day, when I swim in the ocean, I'm always looking around for a fin. EDIT: I'm kind of shocked - I just checked, and online it says "Jaws" was rated PG. Which is pretty surprising. I think the 1st R I saw was Alien, then. A crazy one to watch when I was that age, but the violent scenes didn't stick w/ me like "Jaws" did.
  16. They're struggling to beat some of the worst teams in the league. At this point, maybe it doesn't mean much. They've won a couple of titles, and might be in a mode of just starting slow, working out the kinks, etc., before they kick into a higher gear later in the season. But they're not passing the eye test for me. I went into the season thinking that WR corps would be an achilles heel for them, and that seems to be the case. Not sure if they can overcome that without an acquisition by the deadline
  17. The Chiefs were always winning a lot in this stretch. The hard part of their schedule is later in the season. We can keep pace. The head-to-head will be pretty crucial in terms of playoff seeding.
  18. 1st time I've felt pretty confident about facing Mahomes & that O. So, of course, their D is lights out now. They've done a good job building there. Great pass rush, and McDuffie looked really good, which made me a little envious looking back on that draft.
  19. Always?
  20. I actually dislike the Chiefs more than the Patriots. Never thought I'd dislike a team as much as the Pats. Feels weird, but good.
  21. Watching Payton - I'm so glad McD is our coach.
  22. I don't concur.. I've watched enough of the Chiefs this season. They'll coast because of their easy schedule - but that is not a championship team this year..
  23. I need some help here: Why did genius Payton call a TO there? Like....WHY?!!!!!!!!!!
  24. Who should we root for....the Broncos, or Chiefs? Sorry, just feeling goofy. Here's hoping Russell Wilson has a vintage Russell Wilson game, and Denver gets one of their 2 wins for the season.
  25. We'll learn how well we adjust to losing players to injury. It doesn't matter how bad our opponents are - we'll have a pretty good idea.
