  1. Chalking this one up as "London game." We'll likely get the L, but health is the biggest thing right now. I'm not worried about this team in the long run if most of these injuries aren't too serious.
  2. Can we win a game like this? Not that we haven't, but more often than not, we don't pull of these tight ones. Good test here - let's see if we can change the narrative.
  3. Pass on 1st down = good. Run on 1st down = maybe another day.
  4. Epenesa is a different player this year. Impact plays in every game.
  5. That 2nd & 1 call - Dorsey just has to be better there. Too cute by a mile. Just get 1st downs right now.
  6. Of all of the great reasons to win a SB, finally purging ourselves of the "wide right" black cloud is near the top. Reminds me of when the Red Sox finally won it all. It let them bring Buckner back & finally put '86 behind them. It's gonna happen. And for the record - I absolutely do not blame Scott Norwood for that SB loss. It should have never come down to a long kick, and he was so great for us overall.
  7. Tre is going to help us win a SB eventually. Obviously not this year - but one of our next titles.
  8. If there was a "homer test," I'd get an A+ every time. I was sure we found a gem in Thad Lewis.
  9. Fun game. I thought Howell really came on in the 2nd half, and it looks like Fields is starting to put it together.
  10. I should know this, and it's probably discussed on this very thread, but I'm too lazy: how did the Jags get the draw of having 2 London game in a row?
  11. Beane is really coming through. I remember when we went into this offseason, just wondering how we were going to do anything given the cap space situation. And we've upgraded in so many places - WR, TE, RB, the D-line. But the O-line is really where it counts. It is SO cool to see Allen standing back in the pocket on many plays, & be able to survey the field without having to immediately run for his life. The results are obvious, too.
  12. I personally can't see a Belichick coached team vying for a top 5 pick in the draft - but who knows. Their schedule eases up a bit. I'd guess they end up with more like 5-6 wins. Which is perfect. Keep that team in the kind of purgatory we had for years, where we never had a high enough pick for a great QB or difference-maker. With Miami & Buffalo both looking solid for quite a few years, and the Jets possibly taking a step with either Wilson continuing to play well, or Rodgers coming back - our friends in New England might be in the cellar of the East for a long, long time. It's heartwarming.
  13. Well, that last part is really the most important one. This isn't golf or tennis. Burrow's teams have gone farther than Allen's teams, to this point.
  14. I can't believe how good our team is. Yeah, we had the longest playoff drought - but the payoff is awesome. Really, all that's left is to close the deal, finally. This feels like the team to do that, but it's such a long season. I can only hope we're playing this well & are relatively healthy in January. But at this point in the season, you can't ask for much more.
  15. Tre was really back, too - he was playing great. This game can be really cruel. It is such a long road back when you have an ACL tear - and he made that journey. And then within a few games of getting all the way there, this happens.
  16. The Dolphins are a legit elite team. McDaniel has created some wrinkles on offense that are incredibly innovative, and he has the players that can align the execution w/ his vision. Tua is a top-tier QB (imo). The speed on that team is ridiculous. I have a huge amount of respect for that team, and expect them to be right in the mix at the end of the season. But we gave them a clinic yesterday. There was just nothing they could do. McD had all of the answers for how to stop them on defense - that part of the game was another master class from him on defense. And this was such a statement, "I've arrived" type of game for Dorsey. That performance yesterday, on both sides of the ball, is giving me big dreams.
  17. The AFC was overhyped. I was part of that, too - I thought the AFC was going to be just brutal this year. But at the start of October, the landscape looks SO much different. Our biggest competition will be the Chiefs & Ravens if all of the teams stay relatively healthy. I would have put the Dolphins in that group, too, and don't want to get too hot-takey - but that team is kind of one note. They're not balanced, and I think McD figured that offense out. Not that they couldn't beat us, but we're the better & more complete team and I'd favor us to beat them probably 8x out of 10. The Chiefs, who I normally have a lot of fear & respect for, are not the team that they were the past few years. Obviously, they're still a great team - but that WR situation is their Achilles Heel this year. I can't wait until we play them. Again - of course they can beat us, but I think we're the better team this year and should be favored. And then you have teams that I & most thought would be right there w/ the top contenders, but who look pretty lame to this point. Chargers, Jags, Bengals. I'd probably be more worried playing the Texans than any of those teams.
  18. KC is just getting that rep now. They got the plus end of the officiating in the AFCCG, the SB and now tonight. It goes w/ the territory of having the top QB - and we saw it w/ Brady over & over & over again. Teams that play the Chiefs have to overcome that to win.
  19. I really want the 1 seed this year. I know that's not some big revelation - but let's see how this KC team does if they have to play in Buffalo. FOR ONCE.
  20. I can't wait to play this Chiefs team.
  21. He did - but it was pretty ticky tack, the throw was bad & it was a total bail-out But it was technically the right call.
  22. Allen gets so much more criticism than Mahomes for bad games.
  23. This is the best team of the JA era. Hope I don't sound like a broken record. Better receivers than last year. Better defense. And much tougher. We're a hard-hitting, physical team.
  24. My thoughts for how this affects the team are minimal. He was playing great - but we're always kind of good at CB, and I have faith in Elam & all that. Just gutted for Tre, more than anything. To fight your way back from an ACL, and then have this happen. Sending all kinds of good vibes to that good man tonight.
  25. The thing is - we have this 1st round pick, who is definitely talented and has played well when he's had a chance. And he hasn't even suited up on gameday yet.
