Does Shaq Lawson for Martavius Bryant make sense?
Matt_In_NH replied to njbuff's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I would rather not because no one can spell or pronounce his name correctly....just like Jairus Byrd is not Jairius Byrd. And it annoys me so lets get a different WR. -
He fills a need for sure. I find it interesting how many coaches/GM's go after players from their former teams. On one hand you can say well they know them better than other players which is true but in a perfect world you would select the best players from the 31 other teams not favor players from a particular team because you know them.

Who can throw in the snow and bitter cold?

Trade for him -
Which team with an averagish QB makes the playoffs and competes for an SB most years? Those with the best QB's are CONSISTENTLY competing (Manning, Brady, Rodgers, Roethlisburger, etc). Brees is an exception but that team is epically mismanaged. Rodgers goes out with an injury and they miss the playoffs. While it is true you need more talent, that part is actually easy compared to finding a franchise QB. Franchise QB is number one, then you surround him with talent

The only way a trade up does not happen is if teams refuse to trade out. Beane has been telling us what his plans were from day one with his actions. All these trades for draft picks were all for one reason.

Per ESPN Bills very likely to persue Dolphins SUH
Matt_In_NH replied to 17 Josh Allen's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I am surprised....but it all depends on the numbers. He aint worth 20 milllon per year, no DT is. The one thing about him, he plays in all his games, never misses due to injury. I look forward to him accidentally stepping on Brady's neck -
Worst local media commentator on the Bills?
Matt_In_NH replied to VeryWeakPassword's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I live out of town and I disagree...not all sports personalities get political. Most may from time to time but for instance I listen to Sirius XM NFL and politics rarely gets in. For Schopp and BD its part of their show. -

He gets moody and acts like a 2 year old at times. Gets political and assumes people have alterior motives, he sucks. -

Schopp is the Jerry Rice of worst commentators in Bills history -
Sammy Watwins to KC on a 3 Year Deal
Matt_In_NH replied to *******'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He has the talent and the pocelain doll thing is overplayed. His numbers have not shown on the field but I bet that changes under Andy Reid. -
For the capogists... are offsets involved or is that just for coaches?

Bills interested in Sam Bradford
Matt_In_NH replied to FluffHead's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah, he has only really played 2 years. What is the fascination with him, maybe he has some upside but he has not played for 2 years. Look at what Wentz and Goff did in their second year. -

The legend of BridgewaterBridgwaters best year he had 3200 yards, 14 TDs and 9 INTs' 192 rushing yards and 3 more TD's. That is a slight downgrade from what Taylor has done. Not to mention the guy has not played in 2 years. -
Was Beane here for any of those?

Do you REALLY THINK our GM & HC will trade UP?
Matt_In_NH replied to Punt75's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
A smart organization knows you need a great QB to build a winning franchise. Sure you can make a run here and there, get into the playoffs sometimes and maybe, just maybe once in a blue moon win it all with a guy like Glennon or Bridgewater. But to win year in and year out requires one main ingredient, a franchise QB. A smart organization leaves no stone unturned, does not rule anything out when it comes to finding that franchise QB. I don't think the QB's are just a crap shoot this year either, sure there is no "Andrew Luck" but there seem to be 4 confirmed high end prospects. You can have whatever DL, CB and LB you want, it wont affect wins and losses much. A franchise QB on the other hand can directly contribute a lot to winning. Just look at he Packers last year when Rodgers went out or SF when they started Garapplolo -
I dont like the idea of next years first being part of a trade up. That pick could end up being quite high if they start a rookie QB. Also, if the rookie plays really bad you could use that high pick on another QB.I would rather opt for a 2 this year and next year and 21,22. Also consider player compensation if possible.

Do bills/Browns potentially have deal in place?
Matt_In_NH replied to *******'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I’m all for the bills trading up but I hope they keep their first rounder for next year. If they crap the bed it could be a good pick for another qb if they swing and miss. -
Bills signings & TT trade point to trade up
Matt_In_NH replied to Reed83HOF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think they are planning to trade up if it works out for them but I dont think these signings are necessarily just for that. I think it definitely shows the desire to get some comp picks. But more than anything this team has very few players under contract and tons of FA' so they need bodies. Signing guys to short contracts is beneficial in a bunch of ways....it allows you to be more likely to get comp picks since you will have a lot of FA's. Guys on one year contracts play better because they are going for a big contract, they are hungry and motivated. You dont kill your cap with big signing bonuses you owe to players who stop playing as hard after they get a pile of money.... -
What is Cordy Glen's trade value?
Matt_In_NH replied to Bills Freak's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You have to consider the big contract and recent injury history along with the talent. If he is healthy they are better off keeping him because he is a good player. He does not seem like a locker room problem type.
