Pretty sure you made that up. Mayfield was terrible in the senior bowl game. He has an issue with holding the ball too long. He is going to have to clean that up at the NFL level if he wants to succeed. Allen’s senior bowl was fantastic. I can hardly wait to see what he does with NFL talent in minicamp and training camp.

I was happy with it as well. I wasn’t on board with the Allen pick initially, but I went back and watched more of his games and I am really happy with it. The Bills definitely took more risks than I would have. But you have to take risks to be great and I think we will be. This draft will define the AFCE for a long time. The Pats have 1 or 2 years left, then it is going to be Darnold vs Allen for the next 15 years. I’m looking forward to a Bills Jets rivalry to decide the East.

I really think the talent gap is to great to find any useful evaluation from that game.

Which is a good thing. The reason 2017 wasn’t as productive was because he was on an awful team. He improved a lot at the senior bowl. I’m really excited to see if he takes another jump in training camp. If Allen had a statistically similar season in 2017 with an improved completion percentage he would have been a lock to go 1st. We may have gotten lucky he was on such a bad team.

I think we all feel that way. Unless you got a Kyle or Fred jersey it was probably a bust. I have Watkins, Manuel, TO, Lynch, Losman, Spikes, and Moulds

That is a ranked team as well.

There are some throws that Allen makes that no other player on the planet can make. His arm is like nothing I have ever seen. He is a really difficult evaluation. His arm is so good he might not have to throw with anticipation at the NFL level (I have never said that before). I think he can and will throw with anticipation but he might now have to all of the time.

These games in 2016 will get you excited about Allen. You can see him with below average college talent (although much better than his team this year). A lot of the concerns like bailing out of the pocket to soon, you don't see in these game because he is not having to try to extend plays because his WRs are not terrible. I am very excited to see what he does with NFL talent. The best games were not on youtube. He looked great in the four games below against good opponents. http://draftbreakdown.com/2017/07/16/josh-allen-vs-san-diego-state-2016-2/ - vs #13 Boise state (1st win against them in 20 years) http://draftbreakdown.com/2017/07/09/josh-allen-vs-san-diego-state-2016/- vs San Diego state (wins to go undefeated at home) http://draftbreakdown.com/2017/05/23/josh-allen-vs-northern-illinois-2016/ vs Northern Illinois http://draftbreakdown.com/2017/07/17/josh-allen-vs-san-diego-state-2016-mwcc/ vs San Diego State (Championship game, show how competitive this kid is) Here are two other games that were solid on youtube.

I bet you Palmer fixed that in 3 months. He is an outstanding QB coach.

This is a great post. I was going to make a new topic with similar thoughts. I think the last point is the most important point. That Wyoming team does not win more than 2 games without Allen on the team. I also think he is very accurate for the most part. I think his completion percentage is low because he looks for the big play rather than taking easy rhythm throws, having very bad WRs that don’t make plays on the ball, and having to throw the ball away a lot because the oline broke down or the WRs did not get open. I was more impressed than I thought I was going to be when I went back and watched his 2016 tape. He had some decent college targets that year at least.

All good points. I went back and watched more of his games and came away impressed. His 2016 tape is actually better than his 2017 tape because he had a much better team around him in 2016.

I think he will end up being the best DT in the class. It is unheard of for a DT to lead his team in tackles. He was named 1st team over Vea who is a very good player in his own right.

one thing that has gone unmentioned - talent level on D

I think this unit has a chance to play as well as the 2014 unit. I love that they are flying under the radar. -
EXACTLY why I think Beane blew the '18 draft. -Rd. 1

So your plan is to not take a QB, take a run stuffing DT who was less productive than Phillips, and a good WR with no one to throw him the ball. I’m glad we have other people in charge. -
Position Group Ranking Post-draft
billspro replied to Dadonkadonk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
For me they have good competition at every position right now. I’m sure they will add a few more vets if they think a position is weak. We will find out how good we are when the games are played. Let me remind you that if we did this list last year S would have been near the bottom and it ended up being our strongest unit. The only thing we know is that this team is much more talented than last years team. -
Rosen is more of an Eli Manning type player. He also has durability issues and struggles protecting himself in the pocket which is why he dropped.
-
He is a very solid player. I think he was injured this year which is why he fell down the draft a bit.
-
I might get one

I wouldn’t sleep on Groy or the Iowa guard Boettger. Both of those guys come from oline factories. I think Groy especially deserves a chance, it wouldn’t surprise me if he was a top ten guard next season.
-
I agree he was always looking for the big play. I think playing with guys like McCoy and Clay he will be more willing to take the check down because they have YAC ability. His teammates at Wyoming didn’t have that.
