  1. They need to spend way more than that to get to the minimum cap. They can’t roll 40 million. And you mention some of the top free agents, surely other teams will be bidding quite hard to get those guys as well. This is why it’s difficult to cut more guys. You may end up with worse replacements than you already have on the team. Difference is the guys on the team already know the schemes and players in the locker room. You don’t cut someone like ivory until you already have their replacement under contract. Tevin Coleman and Yeldon are the top 2 backs available, other teams need them way more than buffalo. They can’t just sign all the top free agents that’s a bad way to build the team and fill holes. Ask the redskins and dolphins
  2. They are going to need to find a way to have some sort of star power for this... something to draw to last long term. I can say from the game I watched last night and this one so far today in my opinion this is better than college football. They are attempting to run legit NFL offenses as college is mostly gimmick crap I generally can’t stand to watch. Given the talent (mostly washed out former nfl players not good enough to make it in the big leagues) I think they have had a prettt decent product even though it’s a small sample size so far. Long term though they need some of these players to step up and shine and possibly win NFL jobs or the league will fade. Very hard to get it up and running and they’re not getting a lot of press to get the word out on these games
  3. There’s a lot of holes to fill already. Why create more? What makes people think they are going on some huge spending spree? They may target a couple of the top lineman, but they aren’t spending all that money. They will spend to get to the minimum cap level and roll more over for next season. Beane has said repeatedly they are not building this team via free agency but through drafting good.
  4. His contract wouldn’t be super high. Just spitballing but I would guess he’s a 4-6 million a year guy. But he would have to stay healthy and continue improving. I should of clarified in my original post top 10-20 money as a 4-3 OLB.
  5. I was curious of the same.. Bet brown is salty as hell he chose Baltimore now. Switching from Flacco to Jackson cost brown a buttload of money this offseason. If I remember correct buffalo wanted him for 3 years and he chose Baltimore on 1 year thinking he’d boost his value there, which he did. But he was on pace for a monster season and payday before they swapped to Jackson.
  6. Oh Dawkins definitely has a ways to go I 100% agree there. We may have to agree to disagree on Milano though lol. But to be fair, I would guess whatever list you’re browsing includes 3-4 outside linebackers which is a totally different ballgame than what Milano is going to make. I browsed overthecap for 4-3 backers and Alexander is 17th for just under 4 million per.
  7. I did Cook Saffold Morse James Humphries I think landing Jared Cook for Allen is more important than pretending any of the receivers are #1 options. I’d still draft a tight end and receiver high too.
  8. If Milano has a healthy year and stays on pace he’s gonna get paid top 10-20 money for his position. Same with Dawkins, if he shows any improvement at all. I agree poyer and Hyde are not going to get huge money but those are still decent sized contracts if they’re keeping them. My point wasn’t that they’re all getting huge contracts or all even being resigned just that the front office is surely planning the spending this offseason on some of those contracts coming up in the next couple years.
  9. He’s a fine tackle, he just needs a little help on the rest of the line. He handled himself quite well when incognito was next to him, if they can put some talent on the line Dawkins is the least of my concerns
  10. I forget the exact number but I think it’s something like each team has to spend at minimum 89% of their cap and can only roll over what’s left from that. Something like that. With so many teams having money to spend it will possibly be hard to get the right players and spend enough money, especially for the bills because of the roster they don’t even have a lot of players they can extend to use some of the cap. This offseason is huge for the obvious reasons of needing starters and depth but also being smart spending and working contracts so they actually have money and can get out of some contracts if needed to extend all these young guys we have. It’s down the road but you’re looking at hefty salaries for guys like Milano and White and Dawkins, possible vets like Poyer and Hyde.
  11. I get the logic, but two things... 1... they HAVE to spend a decent amount of that cap money and there’s not a lot of places to spend it 2.. You can never have too many good linemen. I’d rather have a vet starting the season out than a rookie at tackle.
  12. He has been great the last few years, issue is he’s not the guy you want for an unproven young quarterback. Of course he can help Allen grow, but some of you seem to be missing how much he’ll set Allen back. Josh is still learning how to read the whole field, you don’t want a guy who is going to yell at Allen or have temper tantrums if he’s not getting enough targets or Allen doesn’t see him on enough plays. AB is all about AB, winning is not as important as getting his numbers. All you guys wanting him to come here have you watched steeler games? That dude has temper tantrums when they are winning because Ben doesn’t see him open or misses a read. Last thing Allen needs is a teammate yelling at him on the sidelines or going to the press crying. McDermott would cut him by week 4 regardless of his numbers
  13. Too bad we don’t need a safety lol there’s some nice ones in that list. Just my 2 cents but I’d be shocked if they even targeted more than 3-4 of the guys on that list. Unless they really want a pass rusher most of that list is no good for buffalo
  14. Yeah that’s a hefty price tag. But we gotta spend it somewhere right? With this much cap space and how much they HAVE to spend I’m sure they have to give out some bad contracts. Even at 10 million I wouldn’t consider this a bad contract for him
  15. I don’t see any reason why he couldn’t stick around and with some improvement contend for a starting job. All depends on his price tag right? I have my doubts they can draft/sign enough linemen to just lose everyone. The FO will judge locker room and work ethic and those will be deciding factors if they want to bring him back imo. Not just salary
  16. They have mostly owned Pittsburgh and Cincinnati already, Baltimore has given them trouble on occasion.
  17. I don’t think the division matters much. They have proven in the playoffs on the road or at home they can win. It’s almost over thank god
  18. That was an impressive showing for his defense. Sucks the offense couldn’t compete
  19. Given the status of the roster I would agree with the low ranking. There’s not a lot of marketable “names” here and we haven’t done squat in years. My guess would be as they were finishing the list they were like “oh crap I forgot buffalo even had a team throw them in the bottom somewhere”
  20. It’s possible Gurley is just out of gas.. Dude has a million touches since coming in the league. Not that he’s washed up or anything but maybe he was just out of gas this season. He didn’t look to be very explosive. It’s possible his knee is bad he seemed to fall on every one of his runs. Very weird situation
  21. Yeah he was super late on that one for sure. Very disappointing game
  22. I agree to a certain extent. Goff isn’t as bad as he looked tonight. I fully put this 100% on McVay. He was out coached all game. Goff is productive in that scheme, problem is the patriots knew the scheme in and out and mr creative apparently didn’t have anything new to run. We have seen lots of great quarterbacks look like trash when they get hit repeatedly and while Goff isn’t great by any means he never stood a chance. He got blasted all game long. I have watched quite a few ram games this year and that just didn’t look like the same team. Barely no screen passes, all the non stop play actions when everyone in the stadium knew they weren’t gonna run the ball. Did they even have a tight end? Never seen Everett or Higbee that game. Cant check down to the running backs when they’re swallowed up in play action. Just a terrible game plan by mcvay
  23. Or CJ.. Both teams are not very good if they can’t run the ball
