  1. He had more separation than it looked like during the game - still a very tough catch because the ball is going away from him. Would of been a heck of a play all around.
  2. That is not by a guy that does film work at Cover 1 and I do not believe he has looked at the all 22 - that is just his opinion. We will need to wait and see.
  3. Yes - I am sure that is a part of it - he had a few hot takes last week with Rex on the show, but nothing like this.
  4. It was genuine - his passion is a fans passion and the anger and frustration is exactly what we all feel. Just so-nice not to be a Bills fan going through this.
  5. Not at all. Fitzpatrick was an option because he could play inside/outside/safety - he gives teams a flexibility to counter and match formations. Ramsey is strictly outside and wants man. Not a good fit. Ramsey talks to much trash compared to his play. Not a good fit. Ramsey wants to be overpaid for his play. Not a good fit. In short - Ramsey does not feel like an option at all. Not even a tiny bit.
  6. I think Cole makes that catch, but I also think he gets a bit more separation making it a much easier catch. The issue is that if people compare Zay to a #1 he is going to be a “dud” most weeks. We saw that the last 2 years, but if you look at what he does as a 4th or 5th WR - the role he is in - then he is average. Zay got his his hands on a low and away ball with a DB on his back. It was catchable, but was a very difficult catch because the throw was going away from him and he was running a flat route.
  7. That is what I would figure also, but it is so hard to say when the free Blitzer is barreling down at you and you are trying to read your guy at the same time. The throw to the middle of the field with the Blitzer was a much harder throw than if he had just stopped and posted up because he had to go over the Blitzer. A nice touch throw gets that done, but also potentially brings the safety into play if he rotated up quickly. The fact that he recognized the blitz and used the correct hot read and threw to the correct WR was a step in the right direction. Now they all all need to be on the same page.
  8. I would also argue argue on this that unless we know the exact Blitz Hot read on that play for Zay - we do not know if the bad pass was truly on Allen or if Zay played it wrong. The guy covering Zay Blitzed - Zay And Allen both saw it. Zay continues his slant route rather than just pulling up and presenting himself as a target. Allen saw the Blitzer and threw a half side arm pass outside the Blitzer. The pass crossed the Line of Scrimmage about Where Zay started his route. If Zay had not ran the slant and just stopped and turned to the QB the pass would have been perfect. I will admit that I do not know what they have taught the WR to do for that particular hot read - I have seen it go both ways - continue the route and pull up. The coaches will know if it was a bad passes or an incorrect Hot Read. We will most likely never find out. In the end it will go down as a total miss, but really had little impact on an otherwise excellent game by Allen.
  9. Very hard to tell for sure especially as the most effective plays have been the QB sweep and outside runs, but: Week 1 - 17 points and only 2 red zone plays both runs and a TD by Allen. Week 2 - 28 pts 4 trips 1st trip- 1 pass, 1 run, and 1 scramble on a QB drop back 2nd trip - 1 play, 1 run, 1 TD 3rd trip - 1 play, 1 “Pass” to McKenzie (McKittrick), 1 TD 4th trip - 2 passes, 3 runs, and the Penalty on the FG attemp. Total for 2 games: 4 passes - 1 TD 8 Runs - 4 TDs It does seem their percentage of runs go up, but like the last TD in NY - Gore had to run multiple times from the 1 to push it in. I think they are still struggling with Allen passing in short space, but the O-Line is so much better they are compensating by getting the TD runs.
  10. Just another TROLL job by a poster making inflammatory comments and then never following up. Poster has a couple of these on the main board and a couple last week. It should be shut down with a Time Out for not coming back into your thread. The consensus seems to be - Don’t waste the picks and the money.
  11. I think the Giants are the more consistent team and will probably will win first, but I also hope the Jets beat the Browns.
  12. I don’t think it was dirty - more unlucky - as both guys ducked in, but yes I would expect a fine a he did end up going helmet to helmet. It looked like he was trying to lead with his shoulder and just got head to head.
  13. Sal is talking about surgery for Brees on his thumb - out a minimum of 6 weeks. Could be the end end of the Saints for this year. Edit: on further review - not sure it matters - Carolina and Cam look bad, Atlanta has been up an down, and TB is TB. I thought this was going to be a great division, but it now look like a train wreck.
  14. Serious question - why? You may not like Zay, but he can fill in at any of the WR positions and handle the assignment. Duke Williams was a big target, but got no separation from 6-7th cut DBs. If they call him up - he is inactive every week because he brings nearly nothing to the team. He could be a better blocker, but he only knows limited positions - so if he is tight - you are giving away your run plans. He could be a better receiver, but his inability to get any separation means every throw to him will be contested and going against top end DBs - I am not sure he wins compared to the few wins in PS. So I get that you dislike Zay, but he has shown in his limited plays an ability to get open and make catches. He has shown a willingness to block and help in the run game. He can fill in for every WR position on the field - meaning if some gets gassed or hurt mid drive - he can help fill in and allow the team to keep the same offense going. I get the feeling because of those things the Coaching Staff sees him as much more valuable as a WR than they see potential in Duke Williams.
  15. There also is a second part to this: Typically for 80% of the NFL QBs - that throw is a timing/anticipatory throw. They make the throw just before or as the WR breaks and with some touch - allow the WR to adjust to the ball. For JA on this play - he waits a bit to long and uses his arm strength to get the ball there. It is a great read and a good throw, but Jones has already beaten his man by the time the ball is released. The zip/power throw does not allow the WR to adjust. The timing on when the ball arrived was perfect - the only thing that I would like to see the future is that he gets the ball out a third to half second earlier with a bit less pace and more touch to allow the WR to adjust. That kind of decision and play would make me even more assured of him reaching his ceiling- because that is sustainable long term as his athletic ability begins to fade. The thread about Cam really drives this home - at some point the arm strength and running will no longer be enough (or even adequate) and the mental game will take over. I see nothing to suggest he won’t be successful with his work ethic and his progression so far, but to me that is the next step - much like we saw with the touch pass to Beasley (and Sweeney in the preseason).
  16. I think you both both have a point and with the current ball placement Zay does a great Job of going down to get it and ensuring the catch. Where I disagree with the overall assessment is that because Zay Jones rounds off the route a bit - rather than a sharper break - it puts him 1-2 yards deeper than you expect - I think that causes the positioning of the throw as much as anything else. Watching it several times - Jones sets up the break at Midfield and makes the actual cut at the NYJ 48 - instead of coming straight with a sharp cut - the rounded off cut takes him to the NYJ 46 where he makes the catch. With the rope JA threw on that play - that 2 yards is the difference between the ball being right on the numbers and being on his hip. I get that the final placement of the ball was not perfect - it was a darn good throw in any case - I just think a better route by Jones does 2 things: 1) It opens him up more from the DB - the rounded route allowed him to have that DB within a few yards meaning a better DB gets a chance at a break-up. 2) It gives him a better pass as JA is throwing just after the break - a sharper break gets the ball at chest level and may have led him for a bigger gain or a TD. Of course there is the alternative that a better route and throw makes it a much easier catch and Zay has struggled with the easy catches. That placement may have actually forced to concentrate and actually make the catch. Either way a great play and amazing job by the line - I would have been really interested if Jamal Adams had timed it better - what impact that would have had. His timing ran him right into the crossing route and that delayed him. Feliciano and Singletary recognized late he was coming, but the slow down allowed them to be perfect. I also love the extra swipes Feliciano puts on Adams basically discouraging him on future blitzes.
  17. Very cool - wish they had more players - would of liked to see some stuff on Motor.
  18. Read this yesterday - gave it an awesome rating. Loved the way the are competitive, but still care - like a real family situation. Just a great read and real excitement about his future - either here or out on his own.
  19. Really? I can’t stand them - they are misogynistic and really have very little football knowledge. I love when they have guys like Sal on, but for the most part I just can not listen to them at all. I will say say they are better than listening to Schopp on WGR, but basically now I just pull up Pod casts on my way home because I need something that makes sense.
  20. Matthew Fairburn talked about the quote on his podcast and basically stated that that is how guys (non-scouts) tier QBs prior to the draft. Could Pat have done a better job - yeah, but calling a guy pre-draft as a chance to be an NFL starter puts him in the top tier of QBs when they are making the evaluation. I am sure they all have their own number grades also, but what he said was not the insult everyone wants to make it, but good for the Bills if it helps motivate the team for a win What to me is more bulletin board material is the GM saying basically the QBs in that draft might be good, but he was going with the HOF player. They had a shot at 4 of the 5 first rd QBs and a chance to trade and acquire picks and they rode it out with an RB. Barkley is great and maybe the best RB in the game, but as we all know that will get you about 5 wins max unless you have a QB that complement that.
  21. I am am not going to go one way or the other yet. Just last year there was a was a wonderful thread about Luck being done. No arm strength - issues with accuracy - etc. - then he goes out after a few weeks and has a great season getting his team to the playoffs and destroying the Bills. I think Cam is in that same place. After the surgery - his arm looks dead and he ha not adjusted to the new normal for him. I think he has more in the tank, but he will need to adjust and I am not sure he has that in him. Getting older and banged up is hard and and these guys need to adjust to a different commitment level both in season and after the season to get their body back in playing shape. What I love about Josh is he went and spent the off-season working on mechanics and learning to get better. You could see it in the game - his foot work was light years ahead of early last season and that takes stress off you arms and shoulders for throws. Cam needed to do more of that early in his career and then he would be better prepared at this point in his career to handle these injuries. Cam has always been the best athlete and that ability has served him well, but now he needs to become a smarter, better player or else I think he will be done.
  22. You do understand that Lawson and Murphy are playing on opposite sides and Lawson is significantly better going in for Hughes on that side. So if you want more Lawson it is coming by taking Hughes out. Murphy is being spelled by Johnson - which is why the snap counts are where they are. Both guys played welled and neither is a complete DE, but they complement the rest of the DL.
  23. Just saw this on Twitter - what an awesome video. Makes me so proud of this team/organization. My hat is off to Beane, McDermott, and especially the Pegulas. ??????????????? They deserve a ton of accolades and credit - this is what the NFL needs to highlight.
