You know the old joke about what opinions are like...
-
Why the "albeit against the Jets"? Their D is widely considered to be above average and that's the unit the Bills O defeated. This is nonsense. He hangs in the pocket because he's slow to make reads? Huh? And you know this how? BTW, I thought the "flaw" was he bailed out of the pocket because he couldn't make reads. Now it's he doesn't bail out because he can't make the reads. Yeow. As to not "throwing his receivers open," that's patently not true on streak patterns. Where it might be true is the intermediate patterns. But that's pretty much true of every QB. Watch more than the end of day highlights on other QBs and you'll see it's SOP. The ONLY passes that regularly fit your criteria tend to be short ones that are underneath. And for that to work consistently, the QB and the receiver have to be totally in sync like Brady and Edelman. You saw how that didn't work without Edelman against the Chiefs. And TT hasn't a single WR he's familiar with. Matthews might even have had to introduce himself before kickoff.

Positive/Negatives from Today's game
yungmack replied to Overseas Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Thank you. The criticism of the front four around here shows how abysmally ignorant any number of posters are. Clearly Frazier's plan was to take away a pretty good Jets running game and force a not very good McCown to beat them with short passes by plugging the line and holding contain. And it worked perfectly. Come on, critics: 38 yds rushing TOTAL and 3 interceptions (and at least 2 others that could have been). The front 7 were spectacular. They just weren't flashy. I'll take that performance everyday. -
You're embarrassing yourself.

Speculation Thread: Could They Be 5-3 at the Turn?
yungmack replied to dollars 2 donuts's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Way too early for this sort of speculation. The first game is more like the 5th exhibition game as teams play a full game as a unit for the first time. Still, if the Bills we saw yesterday play the Bengals, Raiders, Panthers, etc. we saw yesterday, there's no reason they can't win them all. They likely won't but none of those teams looked anywhere near unbeatable and that includes the Raiders. -
[closed]DT is a massive need going forward

Jeez, it's week one...and a win. Could you hold back on panic mode for a few more weeks. I mean, the D line just had a spectacular day stopping the run. -
A few thought about the Jets game. In no particular order
yungmack replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The only aspect that truly frustrated me was the Run Run Pass Punt offensve rut they got into. Oh, and that those runs were to overwhelmingl to the right. -
And 2nd down.

Whaley, for drafting, signing or re-signing Wood, Richie, Cordy, Miller, TT, Shady, Clay, O'Leary, Schmidt, Hughes, Kyle, Marcel, Shaq, Preston,Lorax, Groy, and Worthy.

And the Bills are good???
-
Or maybe you don't trust the blocking or the receivers?
-
Yeah, could screw up compensatory picks too. What were they thinking?

I'm encouraging him to play like a junkyard dog. Grr.

Why your team sucks - Pats edition - hilarious
yungmack replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Completely fantastic. You have to read the comments after the article. Looks like plenty of Pats fans hate Tawmmy, Bill and Kraft even more than we do. Amazing. And lots of it is funny. -
It's ok to sneer at Gilmore, to laugh at him, even to hate on him (although that's insane, hating a guy for his play or his team). But what you can't do is make false claims to buttress your criticism. Then you're just an "agenda whore." It was MCCOURTY who blew the coverage on that big TD. He bit on Kelce and stayed with him too long. That left Gilmore in the " uh oh" situation, chasing a world class runner who was already way past him. BTW, McCourty took responsibility for the play. Classy.

If you remember, it was the same last year, with a certain segment around here moaning about the loss of Karlos, and who was this Gillislee guy and the Bills running game was doomed if Shady got nicked. I believe Tolbert and Junkyard will pick up where MG left off. In any case, I will let them play a game or two before I lose my mind.

A Funny Thing Happened On The Road To Undefeated
yungmack replied to /dev/null's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Win % in September for Pats under Belichick is 65%. Remember when the Bills shut them out in the opener with Milloy? Boy, we thought the Bills were on their way. How'd that season end up? Pats won the SB. So as much as I delighted in seeing the arrogant Pats get knocked down a peg, I am a long way from writing them off. -
Comparing Starting Day Rosters
yungmack replied to IgotBILLStopay's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
In response to your response: #2 - Shady's a year older, the O scheme is different which APPARENTLY has turned the O line into a sieve. Should Shady go down for any length of time, I don't see how Junkyard and Tolbert can be regarded as anywhere near adequate replacements in the real universe; #3 - We'll just have to disagree on Woods. As much as I would like Zay to succeed, he has appeared to be quite raw and erratic, a common thing with rooks. As to Woods' catches and yards, how much of that was the O scheme combined with Taylor's insufficiencies? Why would you expect Jones to do better if it's the same old TT chucking the ball? I'd rather have Goodwin than Holmes right now. And after you see Matthews play after play, game after game, I think you'll understand why Philly didn't mind trading him; I think the original writer was too kind the O line. No way it's as good as is was last year, not at this time. As to the D line, I was pretty happy with it until the FO started bringing in all these DEs and DTs "for a look." Somebody must be concerned; So far, our secondary has looked a little slow, particularly side-to-side, and not at all "quick" in reacting. Too soon to decide if they've improved, stayed even or gone backwards. -
The only GM who counts is Mr. Dip (great nickname BTW). How he compares to other receivers around the league shouldn't be the focus; how he compares to the Bills receivers is the critical question. And to my eyes, he's currently a better option than any of them.
