  1. FWIW, Cowherd thinks the Bills got the best of the trade.
  2. And "Buffalo Guys" often move away for better opportunities, so why should Bills players be any different?
  3. Bull. There are at least 5 teams for which he'd be an instant upgrade. No, he's probably never going to sniff elite status. But, man, you look at the QB situation with about a third of the teams around the league and TT starts looking better and better to desperate GMs. Now, whether or not Beane would seriously consider moving him is another matter.
  4. Matthews and Gaines will be at least adequate for one season. The FO essentially swapped one WR in his last year and unlikely to resign -- Sammy will be looking for a team with an elite QB and passing game -- for another WR who might not resign with the Bills so that's a wash. What it's all about is the draft picks for next year.
  5. I first misread this as "Beane pulls a RABBI outta his hat..." I thought, well, that's weird. But original. Fridays.
  6. ...whose contract is up at the end of the season.
  7. By your logic, there is no need for all those reports from all those newspapers. Once Sal or Vic files, the rest of the guys should just go cover a local Kiwanis meeting. Me, I like multiple reports and in this one, I learned something I was wondering about and hadn't seen addressed any where else: the mechanics of getting the play calls in quickly. So thanks, Maj.
  8. And the corrective for that is an ass-kicking? Is that your recommended solution for all people whose personality, views, wealth (or lack thereof) offend you? Kick their ass? I've followed Rosen since his high school days. I am not one of those who think he's a guaranteed franchise QB and would not be excited to see him with the Bills (this season could change my opinion). But from what I know about him, he is not spoiled, nor an elitist nor a prima donna. His father is relatively wealthy though. He might be a bit "jerk-y" but that's different than "prima donna."
  9. Pretty sure he mentioned Alabama because it is widely regarded as the number one collegiate football program and has been for quite a few years. I guess he could have picked Troy State.
  10. What anger, what hate. BTW, John McCain isn't a Boomer; the Baby Boom generation was so named for the surge in births following WWII and is generally considered to run from 1946 to 1964. McCain was born in 1936. I wonder if the rest of your factoids are equally well-researched. The whole "Generation" thing is the creation of lazy media and even lazier academics. There is no true coherent set of characteristics that can be applied to hundreds of millions of people worldwide. For every example found that's emblematic of a supposed "generational characteristic," another can easily be found to contradict it. For every kid who can't seem to get out of Mom's basement, there is a Zuckerberg or a Bren. Generalizing any group is not only intellectually lazy, it it is dangerous. For the record, as a pre-Boomer myself, I very much like the so-called Millenial Generation which includes my grandchildren and their friends.
  11. Why do you want him to get his ass kicked? I don't understand that.
  12. Nobody says it's going away, just that it's peaked.
  13. My personal opinion is that the "golden age" of the four major professional sports is definitely over. On the next level down, NASCAR is hemorrhaging fans, horse racing is dying, as is the human version of f track and field, bowling is now definitely a niche sport, pro tennis in the US is a shell of what it used to be, on and on. And Disney today announced it will begin offering ESPN as a streaming service in response to cable-cutting and plummeting viewership. I think if parents suddenly stopped being so overly involved in their kids sports, it they decided to leave participation up to the kids, that youth sports would collapse.
  14. While there are some excellent posts - Hapless, McBride, C. Biscuit for example - there seem to be an inordinate number of grouchy ones. Might help to have your morning coffee before posting.
  15. What in the name of Georgie Tirebiter? A Firesign reference! Made my day.
  16. You're right. Then again, the Chargers are in LA now.
  17. Keep this in mind when arguing over which of the likely top picks is the best (Darnold, Rosen, Falk, Mayfield, et al) that at this time last year, hardly anyone outside USC and his family and friends knew who Sam Darnold was. In other words, good as all these guys are, we could all be surprised by a breakout season by someone unknown to us right now.
  18. Keep 'em coming, 'Stro. You're the best.
  19. I for one am delighted that someone has finally raised the issues of TT's shortcomings. How have we managed to overlook them this long is beyond me.
  20. The flaw in Sallie Boy's article is his insistence on overlooking the obvious, and quite likely, true reason for "benching" Tyrod: that it was a meaningless game in which, had he been injured, the Bills would have had a "yo, mama" contract payment. Whether they intended to keep him or cut him, or to "showcase" EJ and Cardale, means nothing compared to writing that check.
  21. Get a grip. All he was saying was, in this day and age, with heightened awareness on tensions between police and black men, he thought that for passing motorists to see the two of them having a pleasant moment rather than a confrontational one was a good thing. That it came because of a shared interest in the Bills is why the story belongs here. Cherrybone wasn't "racializing" some otherwise innocuous, minor detail; the race aspect of this moment between a cop and a black man was the essence of his story.
