  1. Christian the Noodle Ponder went at 12. Allen would need to get injured between now and the draft to fall to 12.
  2. Which history book has declared that we will not 'vastly improve the team' and 'get our QB'?
  3. Wow, Logan Thomas ... :-) Hey, we're all set then.
  4. Elway may be seriously interested. I realize it is a different era, but take a look at Elway's stats. He may not be at all put off by completion %, ints, etc. Can always unload Keenum next year .....
  5. Don't teams usually have a 4th guy as an extra arm for a portion of camp ... or maybe for the rookie portion? I can't remember if we did or not last year. If we brought him in for a few weeks during the summer, would be some fun days at SJF. Probably pack the place.
  6. Was he better than the guy who preceded him? How about the one before that or for that matter, the one after he retired? Sometimes I wonder if site owners aren't paying a smallish group to create troll threads as 'traffic bait'. I saw the same **** at BBMB for many years. Give the man a break. He is in his 70's, always loyal to his team and served the NFL for many years.
  7. not sure how to embed a tweet, but: https://twitter.com/AdamSchefter/status/976875118256418817 Johnny Manziel threw today at the University of Sam Diego. 12 teams in attendance. 38 attempts. 2 misses. Light rain. Strong day say those in attendance.
  8. Assuming he didn't fry all his brain cells, 'with experience comes wisdom'.
  9. I think there would be a lot of anticipatory tackles. If this rule change happens, I'd look for a McKelvin comeback.
  10. Could happen. Seems like Hughes has played under about 19 systems since he got here.
  11. I wish he had a half dozen more starts, but if he did, he may have required a lot more money. Here's hoping he's a lot more of a QB than Rex's long odds bet.
  12. I'd say Rosen. Out almost a month with a concussion. If he lands with a team that has a mediocre OL (likely), he may not even make it through camp. Preseason may take him down.
  13. No mention of Rosen, but regardless of the desperation level, no way do I see 5 QBs taken in the 1st 12 picks.
  14. Tyron Smith gave up 2 sacks in 2016 and that was one of them.
  15. Unless they have watched film and spotted enough 'correctables' to pull up his performance, I think bleh.
  16. Probably won't be a Beane temptation anyway. I don't think he'll make it to 12. Raiders get him and with Mack in place, they will be tough to plan against.
  17. You don't like him ... or you don't like the idea of not going QB?
  18. Now that we have McCarron, I'm ok with a '2nd tier' QB and using our picks on other needs. At the same time, I wouldn't be opposed to Beane hedging his bet and trading our #65 to a likely playoff team for their 1st rounder next year. Build some capital for 2019.
  19. oh well, woe is me. Time to start picking up 2020 picks. McCarron will have to steer the ship until the arrival of Tagovailoa .
  20. There is no mention of 3-cone at this link, but he seems to be reasonably athletic. "LINCOLN — Former Nebraska linebacker Will Compton wore the biggest smile of all the Huskers working out at Thursday's Pro Day. He ran a 4.54 40-yard dash, jumped 32 inches in the vertical, more than nine feet in the broad jump, and finished with 24 repetitions in the 225-pound bench press. Of the 15 scouts on hand, Compton said, several had strong feedback." http://www.omaha.com/huskers/notes-compton-s-stock-rises-at-pro-day/article_04d686a2-997d-5f2d-8328-077a36d7335d.html Also, was a Team Captain his senior year.
  21. My only concern is that he used to be 6' 2" (disturbing trend) but has shrunk to 6' 1". Soon, he may need to peer between players legs in order to spot the ball carrier. Sign him up.
  22. If he falls to 12 and we pass, I'm going to pee on my Vizio. Then I'll clean it up before my wife comes home.
  23. It wasn't always clear if he was a bit clumsy & slow or just wasn't sure what he wanted his feet to accomplish. Too bad we missed out on Bradham.
