  1. It has been a couple of years since I went to a Homecoming game. Blows my mind a U of R player/grad is the Bills OC. Good stuff. I double hope he does well.
  2. Wow. Never thought I would ever see a guy that played for and graduated from the University of Rochester ascend to these heights. Some U of R (Division III) games have < 100 people watching.
  3. Blindsided by Nate Hackett, the Boy Genius.
  4. Yikes. Steelers are pancake flat. Not ready, at all.
  5. If any 'outside force' (aka, a DB) pulled at the ball, it would feel like your arm was being torn out of the socket. Probably should have been sent to IR.
  6. Shoulder injury can definitely get into your head .... "How can I do X without pain?" Anybody here that is in construction can probably remember a period when they thought their arm would just fall off like a rag. Brushing your teeth or shaving can be a challenge.
  7. I think that once again, this is on Rex. Be nice to not use that phrase anymore. I don't know how many times the scheme has changed in the last 8 years, but I think it is way too many.
  8. Hardware/software development 'Hardware' -- anything going on with helmet technology -- new surgical, cell grow or rehab tech that may be available soon -- what did Luck do over in Europe Just examples... that sort of stuff 'Software' - whatever happened to that guy we hired from Xerox 4 years ago who was going to bust the data to enable better decisions - anything going on with VR that may help QBs develop quicker recognizing defenses In general, the 'tech side' of the sport.
  9. Given we are DT needy, can he be kicked inside and be effective? He'd possibly be a somewhat quick DT vs a less than fleet DE. Maybe 'kicked' isn't the best of words. Repositioned..
  10. There are some very good laughs in these threads. That horse is amazing.
  11. Personally, I'm not worried about this 'character' stuff, but there is no doubt he is a trash talker & instigator. Then again, so was Reggie Miller and so is Philip Rivers. If it gets our team fired up and lifts the intensity without causing a spate of penalties, well good. One way or the other, I'm sure he'll get interviewed so McD and Beane can make a judgement. As for height, I think his OL was 6' 8", 6' 4" (3 guys) and the center was 6' 1". It might be a problem, but I'm sure he'll get a lot of workouts where our Coaches can see what they see. If they don't like it, he'll drop on our board. Small hands might be a concern too, but we'll see. Knowing what we know, I don't think I'd trade up for him, but at this moment, I hope we don't let him pass.
  12. The individual items PFF currently grades may be ok and (+ -) they may be grading them fairly well. However, the sum of their items doesn't seem to consistently make sense which may mean they need more (or different) items. As an example, maybe they should also be grading (not necessarily equally): - Placement - Best choice - Ball fakes - Timeliness Some of these would be subjective, though probably never as challenging as trying to figure out ESPN's (QBR). They seem to be pretty serious about their output, so I think their algorithm will continue to improve.
  13. Whaley had some ups and downs, but I did like the fact he didn't cave on Byrd's demands and in retrospect, that was good.
  14. You know, I don't really want to argue with everyone just for the sake of arguing, but, I said: "5 yard passes don't require a whole lot of separation." and in my mind given that they are Pros, that remains true, be it for Brees or Taylor. Anyway, I think the fact that I joined this forum after the demise of BBMB had a lot more to do with the type of response I received than my actual comment. I suspect that this site's owner(s) are grateful for the additional traffic, but I may be wrong. Anyway, if they send me a note asking me to get lost, I'll certainly comply. A lower dose of Bills' talk probably wouldn't be a bad thing.
  15. You can say that 6.2 is more, but not necessarily better. Brees to Kamara as an example. Same goes for post counts.
  16. KC's # looks very much like an outlier and the Bills may be too. When you look at individual players (A. Brown 2.6, Goodwin 2.2, etc) not sure there is much to be learned from any of these numbers.
  17. I'd go with Hurst. He's no Donald, but he gets off his blocks really well and should be pretty disruptive..
  18. Only 106 days and 22 hours til the draft. Time for ~ 1,000 'which qb do we get' threads. Anyway, I think Luck is supposed to start throwing a little next week. I hope it goes well for him.
  19. 6.2 air yards. I said 5. 1.2 yards diff. BFD. I'd never noticed you, but you sure have my eyes on you now.
  20. Did you suddenly become a jackass or has that been long-term problem? I'm guessing the latter.
  21. Ah, you're saying that 5 yard passes DO require a large amount of separation. Well, well. I had NO idea and I certainly sit corrected.
  22. Hope they ask the Steelers permission to interview Shaun Sarrett. He's been Munchak's right hand for the last few years and the Steelers line is solid in run and pass pro. http://www.steelersdepot.com/2018/01/losing-mike-munchak-not-doom-steelers/ Tough to argue for keeping Castillo. Poor in run and pass blocking with a big drop off in both.
  23. When they were clearing out their lockers the other day, one of the players (or maybe it was Beane) mentioned that Taylor is a hard worker and that you'll see him out there stretching. So maybe he's chosen to be really loose and flexible.
