if it goes over the goalpost and would have doinked, is it good or a miss? Do they have to guess whether it would have doinked in or hit it square, or is it like a TD, so long as it crosses the plane of the goalpost it's good....?

Mack Hollins in the Locker Room
harmonkillebrew replied to Rocky Landing's topic in The Stadium Wall
He's grown on me a lot. Selfless glue player that does a little of everything and alot of blocking. -
Keon Coleman 5th In Rookie Receiving Yards
harmonkillebrew replied to iwishitwerecolder's topic in The Stadium Wall
He's got a pretty good QB throwing to him. Personally, I wanted BTJ, but the cost to trade up probably wasn't worth it. -
He's a dog. That's what Josh said and why he wanted him. Still can't separate, but he's a gamer for sure

Bishop was a liability against Houston in the first half. He blew so many plays. But I thought he settled down in the 2nd half and should have been given an opportunity against NYJ. But I guess the Bills see Hamlin as more the FS/Micah Hyde role and Rapp as Poyer. And Rapp at this point is much better than Cole

Samuel is really here for the WR screen game. Brady tried that a lot last year with Diggs and Davis. Samuel should excel at it, but the timing has been off. Josh double clutched on multiple attempts last game b/c of upfield pressure. But otherwise, Samuel is not a very good route runner. He doesn't have a feel for underneath zones like a good slot guy. He runs and then turns around, doesn't move with the QB and the gaps in the zones. I agree though that with his speed, they should be able to find more creative ways to get him in space downfield, in addition to the screen game. The timing is all off with him and Josh and Brady

you can see that Allen has no trust in his WRs. He's tentative and not making throws he would make if Diggs were on the other end. I could also see on each of those throws that were highlighted how Josh was also probably being extra safe with CBs or S that might come off their man to make a play. He just had no faith or conviction in the game plan. He was totally lost. He also has always had a maddening tendency to miss deep touch passes. You saw that with the Hollins overthrow (although a good WR would have caught it) and the Kincaid underthrow. Placement was just off.

Who is more at fault? Beane or McDermott?
harmonkillebrew replied to TonyBeets's topic in The Stadium Wall
Fault for what? End of the game fiascos, coaching to lose = McDermott But he runs a good locker room and is a good defensive coach. Failing to build a winning team around a generational talent at QB = Beane So I blame them both -
Dawson Knox: 3 receptions in 5 games. $8.5M salary.
harmonkillebrew replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
I appreciate the concept of 12 personnel, but you have to throw it to Knox occasionally. They got him a few nice looks the first game, but nothing schemed for him since, it seems. I don't know what's going to with Brady's O, but teams seemed to have figured it out quickly. Josh does not look comfortable, especially when the pressure comes. Trading up for Kincaid (giving up a 4th) after Knox had just signed that extension seems like a mistake in hindsight. They could have gotten a guy like Josh Downs later, as a better underneath option -
Do we trust McBeane in next years draft.
harmonkillebrew replied to Buffalo Boy's topic in The Stadium Wall
I have NO trust in them. They continually overdraft some positions, under draft others. Make poor decisions and then let draft picks go that shine with other teams. -
Are we figured out already? The issues as I see them
harmonkillebrew replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
As many of us predicted, the lack of outside WRs that can win one-on-ones shrinks the field to in-between the hashes. Teams are flooding with short zone coverages as there is no real vertical or outside threat. It only took 3 weeks of tape for teams to figure out how to stop our O. Brady needs to adapt, and we need that outside WR that everyone was craving -
this week is pretty critical to show the Bills can get past the blueprint the Ravens just showed the league. Also, to show their mental toughness. If they respond against a good Texans team than I'll give them 13 wins. But if they have another dud on the road, the season could go south fast. That said, I still think they run the AFCE. The division looks horrible

Joe Marino All-22 review - "The coaches were duds"
harmonkillebrew replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall
What did they start doing in the second half because it seemed to work relatively well? From what I saw they crowded the box with Safeties and had more penetration by LBs -
Upon reflection, the Offense is more my concern. 10 measly points, little momentum. The O had no excuse of missing personnel. They just were exposed by a good D as being the shaky unit we were all scared of after the offseason. Baltimore has very good LBs and S and a strong Dline. We got away from the run too much too soon, But they took away our short passing game and that's all we have.

I mean, this was the big question heading into the season, could Josh lift everyone up? Did he need elite playmakers or would he suffice with good role players surrounding him. So far he has shown it. Him and Brady are getting the most out of a diverse set of role players and a solid Oline. Man, I hope it continues. Right now we're the highest scoring O in the league. Use that dead cap next year to fortify the D, but we seem set on O. I never thought I'd be saying this, three weeks in....

THE ROCKPILE REVIEW - Gotta Like the Start
harmonkillebrew replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall
I don't know if McDermott teams always come prepared for game 1. They laid an egg at the Jets last year. Stunk against the Steelers in 2021. That's what I was kind of holding on to during that crappy 1st half. Credits to the team and staff for turning it around in 2nd half, although that kick return felt like another classic Bills pulling defeat from the jaws of victory. The Cardinals were a 4-win team last year, so I'm cautiously optimistic. The Defense looks like a work in progress, but the spread the ball around offense and the new Oline had a good debut. And of course, Josh is still a beast. He single handedly wins games for this team week in and out. -
AFCE predictions and thoughts '24
harmonkillebrew replied to Inigo Montoya's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'm not sure how Miami got better. They're basically the same Offense, which McDermott owns, and a worse defense. The Jets are praying that 40 yr old Rodgers can save them, but will he make that much of a difference for a team that missed the playoffs entirely? I think its still the Bills division to lose and everyone is just hoping we regress. -
Noah Brown worth a look? (now on the way to Washington)
harmonkillebrew replied to vanislebills44's topic in The Stadium Wall
that's a surprise. He's definitely an upgrade over MVS and probably Hollins. -
Every person who caught a pass from JA in 2018
harmonkillebrew replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
Another GM and coach would have traded for Ayiuk or Davante Adams by now. The Diggs investment paid immediate dividends for Josh. But after never finding a legitimate #2 (Gabe was a 4th round pick), they are now back to shopping the bargain bin for WRs, hoping Josh wills the offense to win. -
I'd agree if we had actually drafted many WRs. They invested a 4th in Gabe Davis and seem to have gotten lucky with Shakir in the 5th. Certainly need to give Coleman time, but I'd rather ease him in than throw him to the wolves year 1 with so much riding on his ability to quickly take on the NFL game. Besides Diggs, the Bills have largely chosen for the most part to target bargain or mid-value WRs in FA. It would be nice to see them give Allen another weapon, but it's probably not happening. It's just not in McBeane's DNA.
