Hate to say this … but the Pats are effing good
harmonkillebrew replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall
It's a QB league. You get a good one and everything else falls into place. Maye is $^#@$ good -
Who do we want, who do we need as our next HC and, or GM?
harmonkillebrew replied to jaybeezee's topic in The Stadium Wall
It is going to take a major, continued screw up for Terry to replace Beane and McD. It's nice to dream but that's all we're doing. -
Mecole Hardman, Come on Down! (Signed to Practice Squad)
harmonkillebrew replied to bills742's topic in The Stadium Wall
Is Hardman really any better than Samuel, who has been chronically under-utilized by Brady. I'd love to see some all-22 on Samuel and Moore. Are they not open, are they not utilized, are they horrible blockers and thus on the bench in favor of Shavers? -
I think that is an understated issue. We've been cycling WRs through here for years, since Gabe and Diggs left. None of them stick around long enough to develop any real chemistry with Josh (except Shakir). Maybe Gabe coming back will help us after all
-
I mean, it's not like the WR issue is brand new and we're just grossly speculating. The board has been calling on Beane to get Josh more weapons for years now. Ever since they let Beasley, Smoke and Sanders go and we realized Gabe wasn't good enough, we've been calling for it. Then they went and traded away Diggs and let Gabe walk. They traded down multiple times and got no one's favorite WR Keon Coleman, who showed no ability at the college level to separate. Last year was a dumpsterfire at WR, leading them to blow a 3rd on a Cooper for half a season. Now this past offseason, they sign Palmer, who has never been better than a 3rd option and say Keon is going to make a leap. The WR problem has been obvious for years, so when Josh and the O are struggling now and there is no one open to throw it to, it's not exactly a big surprise
-
Scheme (or was it GM preference?) also prioritized big bodied physical WRs that can block. Our guys get little to no separation and Brady doesn't scheme much for WRs anyways. We have such little room for error on Offense with long sustained drives and dink and dunk passing. If we're off or have some miscues, we struggle to get chunk plays and explosive TDs (unless Cook breaks one)
-
Seriously. The Jets and Dolphins weren't trading with us. Shaheed was gettable, as were others that could have made a difference. I'm not as down on McD given the locker room culture that he's produced, but I do think Beane has made too many errors and missed talent opportunities.
-
I wish this loss happened before the trade deadline. We might have tried harder to get Shaheed

I hadn't seen the character concerns scouting report, but I remember at his first press conference all the reporters thought he was hilarious, but I just saw an immature kid. That's played out, unfortunately, in addition to his talent gaps. Not sure who at OBD is scouting these first rounders, but time to fire them and let the 4th round scouts take over

Dorian Williams in the Hoecht/Lorax role?
harmonkillebrew replied to transplantbillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Solomon is who they tried to have play Hoecht's role before and after. Dorian could give it a shot, but I don't think he has the strength or arm violence to cause havoc in the same way. Too bad they didn't get a guy at the deadline. Not sure what other internal candidates there are. Groot supposedly had some interior rush skills coming out Lorax and Hoecht are also similar in that they started out as big, beefy Linemen and then trimmed down while maintaining incredible play strength. -
Kincaid and Shakir are the Bills passing Offense, but smart Defenses will plan around that. We can't sit pat with mediocre boundary WRs. Palmer has more potential to contribute, once healthy. Coleman is a dud. Samuel still has some deep speed, but inconsistent route running. Gabe might bring back that downfield threat, but not off a torn meniscus. The O is good, but we need playoff good. And not having a downfield element threat will hold us back
-
They NEED to add a DT with Ed and Hoecht down. Maybe Daquan is on the mend... A WR would also be nice, but I'm thinking they must have more confidence in Gabe coming back than we realize. Plus Brady just doesn't scheme up much downfield or outside. It's not his game. CB seems solidified with Max. And Poyer/Hancock combo and Bishop turning a corner have also shored up S

Who ya got for a big day against KC?
harmonkillebrew replied to Billsfed1's topic in The Stadium Wall
Elijah Moore! Coleman will be eliminated by McDuffie and I think Spag will game plan to take away Shakir and Kincaid and stuff the run. Moore needs to step up with Palmer out and get some intermediate/ deep routes to give our O another element. -
Joe Marino's 9 point plan for improvement
harmonkillebrew replied to D. L. Hot-Flamethrower's topic in The Stadium Wall
Replace Rapp with Poyer? man things are bad. How about trade for a S and bench Rapp. Cole has the range and poor tackling ability that better fits a deep FS. -
Who's the Emotional Leader on the Bills ??
harmonkillebrew replied to T master's topic in The Stadium Wall
Bernard is the D's emotional leader. The D's problem is lack of talent -
The Athletic - some grim stats (new Tim Graham piece)
harmonkillebrew replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think that's exactly what we're seeing. There is no need to play D past 10 yards as the Bills rarely attack that far down the field and don't have the outside WRs to do so, especially against good man CBs. Bills also rarely have packages with two boundary WRs, so further condenses the D toward the ball and LOS. You could say on any given play there are 9-10 defensive players near the LOS. Add in some creative blitz calls and that's a rough day for the Oline and Allen. -
That's what I'm talking about! Atlanta had a mean pass rush, so we should have run it down their throats! That's a good point and maybe part of why they don't want or risk him as 6th OL. They need him as the main backup.
-
What happened to the 6 OL package that the Bills used to such fanfare last year? Has Alec Andersen been hurt? Has Jackson Hawes surpassed him with the TE pass-catching added advantage? I thought that package gave us a tougher attitude. Imposing our will on other teams. Yet I don't think I've seen it once in recent weeks. Hawes has been good, but has he been that good to eliminate the package entirely?
-
I answered no, given how much he's built up this team. But if you have the chance to add an up and coming offensive mind, I would do it.

The Upcoming Trade Deadline: 2025 Edition
harmonkillebrew replied to ryguy101's topic in The Stadium Wall
Is Olave on the market? that would be sweeeet -
What was Shavers' snap count? He's a nice story and all, but why is actually on the field and is that the best we can do?
