I think they have about the same chance of succeeding. Mayfield would be my choice because he is more of a football player and competitor than both of those guys combined. Mayfield has that hate to lose mentality that you can't teach.

I remember a guy named Jim Kelly doing that. He had somewhere else he could go and get paid though. What the NFL needs then is a minor league like baseball. Get rid of the charade, 'student' athletes who have no interest in school taking the place of people interested in learning; because that is what school is for. Why would he sit out a year for nothing when he was offered buku bucks to play in another league?

If they roll with this oline it will be a long year regardless of who plays qb, and that 2019 first round pick will be a good one. We don't know who they are targeting but I see mock drafts where they trade up with Denver at 5 and take Josh Allen and Denver gets Mayfield at 12 and our 22 plus another pick, doing that would be asinine imo. A lot of factors involved and a lot depends on who they want and how it plays out draft day, which can't get here soon enough for me. I hope whatever they do, they get the right guy and can hang on to next years #1.

Ragnow is the only pick I am psyched about. Jackson is not what they want for qb imo, Payne is another Bama defender I am wary of, Chark is an athletic freak but pretty raw and lacking in route running and ability to get off press coverage, Leonard is high motor but light and kind of slow for his size (4.7), not very strong either for getting off blocks in the NFL. Just my humble opinion, I am obviously not a pro scout.

Looking at Matt Miller's bpa I see he has 12 rbs higher than Royce Freeman. That is just ridiculous to me, the guy is a beast and a td machine. He also is great catching passes. I am biased because I have seen him play in person so many times, but I have not seen him rated this low by anybody else.

Tyrod's sack % was much higher than both of those guys. He was indecisive and held the ball too long, that does not help the o line. Like I said, the line wasn t very good but he did not make them look better, if anything he made their jobs more difficult.

Bodine and Newhouse were bottom of the barrel fa's, hardly any linemen ranked lower. If either of those guys are starting it is not good.

MJDs mock draft has the Bills trading up to 5th and taking Allen while Denver gets Mayfield at 12 and Payne at 22. That would just suck imo, would much rather have Mayfield and Payne(or someone) than just Allen. Don't put any stock in all these mocks but that scenario would particularly suck I think.

I don't think they were all that good last year either, but I am not sure Tyrod made them look better. He held the ball longer than any QB in the league and took a ton of sacks because of it. I think Groy will play G and Bodine/draft pick will play C. . I expect a couple linemen within the first 3 rnds along with a LB WR and a QB. Probably get a few castoffs from other teams after the draft too.
