I've been saying for weeks now that we're going to make the playoffs with double digit wins this year. The article lays out the 2 biggest reasons I think it happens: Sean McDermott & the Defense. This is year 2 under McDermott. The culture is established, now they can build on it and develop it. We really don't have any big losses of note in terms of players, so I think talent level on the team as a whole improved. I understand the uncertainty at QB (and now with Shady, but I really don't think that Shady misses a game, unless for injury) and that uncertainty is, I believe, the popular reason that so many think we'll take a step back this year. But I'm pretty excited actually about Dabol's creativity and think it's hard to get much worse at OC than Dennison. My way too early prediction is 11-5 and the #5 seed in the playoffs

Okay fellas... if you guys meant something different from these 3 sentences: than something derogatory about Jimbo, then I likely would have gotten it reading whatever the context of your conversation was, but pretty easy for someone to pull something negative about our iconic QB from those 3 sentences. Wow... so now I tune in just to see if there's any news and instead I find a poster who insinuates a 1st ballot HOF QB who essentially pioneered the no-huddle offense, calling all his own plays at the LOS, is stupid and would not be successful in today's NFL.

You understand that those are the words of Adam Schein that I copied and pasted from the link I provided, right? No, I'm not looking for a bet because I'm not 100% or 90% or 80% confident Allen will start week 1. As I said multiple times in this thread already, I'm roughly 50/50 on Allen winning the job during TC and preseason and starting week 1. I'd hardly call that sheer confidence. But as to your last point, I'd argue that the team counsel being involved in the decision gives Allen a better chance to start rather than a worse chance. Think about the impression he's already made on McCoy and Hyde who've come out publicly about that. Not to mention, the entire team saw firsthand Peterman's chokejobs last year.

The best QB at the moment the season starts is the QB who I'd bet McDermott will start. It might not be Allen, but if it is, I just think this notion that Allen needs to be protected for 4 games and then you can throw him to the wolves is weird. I think those people who believe no matter what that Allen should sit and learn the whole year like Mahomes did last year have a much more reasonable argument--even if I still disagree with it--than those who are stressing how imperative it is that Allen doesn't play for the first 4 games, but it's somehow okay after week 4. Or week 5. Or week 7. Or after the bye. Or whatever finite game people are arguing Allen must sit on the bench for before he's allowed to play in the 2018 regular season. The best QB is who I bet starts week 1. And let's hope we all see an improved passing attack no matter who's under center. And if that's Peterman, let's hope he stops passing to the other team.

Man... the timing of that robbery and assault and the allegations must've really sucked for him. He probably had to cancel that nightclub he rented out for the night and call off all the pornstars. Probably just a low key night out with his boyz with pockets full of cash at the stripclub instead

It's ridiculous at this point. I'm not fond of the phrase, but pending the actual outcome here, McCoy might end up being justified in using a phrase that's become so culturally prominent over the last year and a half...

But there's no investigation right now, or at least no charges, is there? He's not even a suspect in connection with the robbery or assault, is he? Is the investigation related to previous domestic assault Shady's ex-girlfriend's friend made relating to her, their child and their dog? Has any evidence been put forward at all or do we just have the words of a friend of the alleged victim but nothing from the victim herself? Were the pictures posted and taken down of his ex girlfriend a couple days ago or from a time Shady supposedly did it to her? She dated 2 guys before her who also beat her and apparently the whole eviction thing has gone for months with her refusing to leave the house, so she's gotta have at least a little gold-digger in her, was there a timestamp on that picture of her bloodied up to know that it was even taken while she and Shady were together rather than her being with Vick or Mayweather? I know I might come off as blinded by homerism with all those questions, but with at least what I've heard from the story so far all we have are he said/she said regarding the supposed domestic abuse which was brought up immediately after a robbery and assault that we KNOW Shady did not personally commit (pictures of him practicing in Miami 4 hours after the assault took place) in the very same week (or was it the very same day???) that she and Shady were due in court relating to him evicting her out of his house after a year of her refusing to leave. Is that all we know so far? Anything else? I'd legitimately like to know, because if this is all we know, I think it's kinda shocking that the court of public opinion (and that's the only court the league truly cares about) has already pretty much found him guilty.

On the DP show today, Patrick said that with what they know right now, if this were during the regular season, McCoy would have been immediately placed on the Commissioner's Exempt list and suspended indefinitely. Am I missing some crucial piece of evidence that's been revealed??? Last I knew Shady's ex, who he is has apparently been trying to evict (trying??? I didn't know it was so difficult for a landlord to evict a tenant when he owns the property) was robbed and assaulted by someone that wasn't him and a friend of Shady's ex simultaneously, in the heat of the moment, accused him of being responsible for the robbery and assault while also accusing him of being a woman, child and animal abuser. Is that all we know? Has more evidence come out? I know there were pictures posted by the friend and quickly taken down. Were those pictures of the girl after the robbery and assault or were they supposedly pictures that were months old that were proof of Shady abusing her? Has this turned into something different thus far??? OP... update page 1! Or someone who's on this **** can you please start a separate Shady update thread for those of us who just want updates and don't want to partake in (or have to read through) dialogue about possible water problems in the house that may have contributed to something.
