  1. Except Mayfield is not ready, via this report, while Allen has been earning lots of praise from media, teammates and coaches.
  2. https://www.google.com/amp/s/buffalowdown.com/2018/06/18/buffalo-bills-3-reasons-josh-allen-will-start-week-1/amp/ Buffalo Bills: 3 reasons why Josh Allen will start Week 1 1. Peterman’s minicamp success is fool’s gold 2. Allen’s toolkit >>> his competition 3. He is already being endorsed by Bills players
  3. Seems like something most would have said would describe Josh Allen at this point, yet he's still very much competing for the #1 job, unlike Mayfield.
  4. I was joking a bit... I actually think it's almost unfathomable to me that anyone would say Nate Peterman doesn't have the weaker arm. He has one of the weakest NFL arms I've ever seen! Here are their scouting profiles: McCarron: Strengths Well-versed operating a pro-style offense and makes NFL-style progression reads. Is comfortable working from under center and in the gun. Mobile enough to sidestep the first wave. Good field vision, timing and anticipation. Very good short-to-intermediate accuracy (evidenced by a 66.9 percent career completion rate). Throws with accuracy on the move -- good wrist snap. Delivers the ball under duress. Has enough arm strength to fit the ball into spots. Consistent throwing mechanics -- has a smooth stroke. Good caretaker and decision-maker. Mature leader. Smart and articulate. Highly competitive team leader -- holds teammates accountable. Very well-prepared. Directed back-to-back national championship offenses. Weaknesses Surrounded by an NFL-caliber supporting cast with a very good offensive line that provides a lot of time to dissect the field. Does not have a big-time, vertical arm. Average athlete. Makes occasional bone-headed decisions. Heaves the deep ball and forces receivers to make adjustments. Does not drive the deep out. Peterman: Strengths Smooth, quick set-up in pocket. Grips the ball with big, 10-inch hands. Poised in pocket and takes the hit to deliver a completion. Will set-up, slide and then re-set before making his throw. Can cut it loose from off-balance angles from bootleg or play-action if he sees a winning option break open early. Full field reader. Works all the way through his progressions. Shoots glances at safeties to keep them in check. Strong natural accuracy. Able to throw receivers open and lead them away from danger. Can pinpoint passes to moving targets in his intermediate work. Has enough arm to work field side, intermediate throws. Great vision. Sees passing windows before they develop. Throws with outstanding timing and anticipation. Can put the ball on receivers' hands as soon as they come out of a break if coverage dictates it. Utilizes accuracy and anticipation to challenge windows on all three levels. Won at Clemson hanging five touchdown passes on their talented stop unit. Good escapability and can extend drives with his legs. Excellent deep ball accuracy completing 46.2 percent of his deep throws. Weaknesses Inconsistent delivery base causes some throws to sail. Has instances where he short strides and is forced to muscle it to his target. Will float some throws on seams and dig routes. Will have to be mindful to drive the ball on pro level to avoid the ballhawks who are lurking at safety. Has to prove he has enough arm to challenge the same tight windows he did in college. Ball handling a little sluggish in wide receiver screens, hitches and most RPOs (run, pass option). Wants to play hero-ball at times. Needs to learn when to air-mail throw and move to next play rather than trying to get too cute with sideline throws. Can improve overall touch. I think even their scouting profiles are unequal when it comes to arm strength. And then watch Nate And especially this K. Maybe Nate has more athleticism, but he also has a weaker arm and the worst type of mentality to go with a weaker arm... Nate Favre is the perfect nickname for him because he's half of Favre... the problem is he's the half that made Favre the league leading INT thrower, not the league leading TD thrower. If he truly supposedly increased his arm strength by a lot this offseason... awesome, let's roll!!! But he would have had to increase it a good bit. The last pass he threw in a Bills uniform in 2017 exemplifies the primary reason I just don't think Peterman will ever be a viable starter. Just not an NFL arm.
  5. Holy crap!!! Is this actually confirmed?!?! If Peterman has a better arm and is a better athlete than McCarron, I'm utterly confident Allen will start game 1
  6. I remember the play... it summed up Fitz's gunslinger mentality to a T. He called an audible at the line stuck at his own 2 yard line because he saw TO in a one on one and good ole Fitzy's just chucked it up.
  7. http://www.tampabay.com/qbs-sam-darnold-josh-allen-learn-from-greatest-at-us-open-ap_sports0dc7779ebd464a33ad4f1a45390d0a91 Jets fan spots Sam Darnold at U.S. Open, shouts during pro's backswing Sam Darnold and Josh Allen are spending their weekend watching greatness, and for once it's not other football players. They're at Shinnecock Hills for the U.S. Open. Selected in the first round of the 2018 NFL draft — Darnold by the New York Jets, Allen by the Buffalo Bills — the two quarterbacks are headed to the pros but are far from done learning. ... "It's like what me and Sam would do as quarterbacks, evaluating the defense before we snap the ball and trying to get understanding of what they're doing," Allen said. "And that's what they're doing on the course. Before every shot, they're trying to gauge the wind, trying to gauge the distance, and ultimately trying to have the right swing to put the ball where they want." That also includes zoning in on the task and blocking out distractions. ... Allen, who brought his dad — his frequent golfing partner — to Shinnecock Hills, hit 56.3 percent of his passes for 1,812 yards and averaged 164.7 yards per game at Wyoming last year. He went seventh overall. "I love football, so there's nothing that's going to replace that," Allen said. "But golf, it's a second." https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.buffalorumblings.com/platform/amp/2018/6/16/17469940/buffalo-bills-quarterback-competition-dominating-early-headlines-josh-allen-aj-mccarron Buffalo Bills quarterback competition dominating early headlines "If you have two quarterbacks, you really have none.” The old adage regarding quarterback play has been repeated in similar phrasing for many years, and is often thought to be true regardless of the situation. Early on in training camp for the Buffalo Bills, the team has three quarterbacks who are impressing. ... The headliner thus far in camp has been rookie Josh Allen. The Bills first of two first-round draft choices, Allen was selected seventh overall after the Bills executed a series of trade-ups to acquire his services. While many pundits feel that Allen is not ready to start on day one in the NFL, that hasn’t stopped the Wyoming product from showing off the raw talent that led the Bills to make him the third quarterback selected this past April in the NFL Draft. Head coach Sean McDermott said in his press conference prior to practice on Thursday that Allen would remain third on the depth chart heading into training camp. While the rookie may have been playing against other third-string players, he still was impressive, ending minicamp with a long touchdown pass to fellow rookie Austin Proehl. Joe Buscaglia of WKBW notedthat Allen is clearly the most talented quarterback the Bills have, but he will need to show consistency as camp progresses in order to earn more reps. ... In the early going, it appears that the Bills have three quarterbacks who are capable of stepping in and playing in 2018. Hopefully, the early positive returns will carry over into training camp and beyond.
  8. Yep... sure is. Grew up watching the Bills every Sunday with my Dad from the very late 80s throughout the 90s while I was still in school living at home. It was the Sunday ritual of waking up with the family, going out to breakfast, going to Church, coming home, watching pre game stuff, then butterflies for kickoff and dinner right after the game. It was an awesome tradition.
  9. Damn I thought this thread would actually die overnight. @ Stank Nasty it was 11 hours dead... why bump it? Everyone should bother watching the 7 minute interview some of you are so up-in-arms about. He was asked a direct, leading question about the Bills: "You don't get this far without fire. There's gotta be something that burns inside you. How motivated are you to prove that they were wrong to trade you from a playoff team?" And Taylor basically followed that up saying he expects the Bills to make the playoffs. There was nothing vindictive or spiteful--unlike what's happening in this thread--he was just asked a leading question that had a pretty obvious answer to it and was more diplomatic than I think anyone could ever expect. How the hell did some of you expect him to respond to that? Get over it people. Some of you are still so spiteful about Taylor, who's now been gone over 3 months, that you're altering reality.
  10. Shady makes the Pro Bowl again Bills make the playoffs again Josh Allen starts more than 10 games and is at least a ROTY candidate
  11. Shady, are you familiar with the 7 deadly sins? 26CB... keep doing what you're doing... the rest of us appreciate it even if Shady's just
  12. Yes, 100% sure. I looked at Trent's 2009 (the year TO was in Buffalo) game logs just to make sure. He had one 48 yard TD to TO... that was his longest to him.
  13. No, I didn't. Have a good night though, bro... remind me how guilty I'm NOT of keeping that Tyrod thread on page 1. Look forward to reading it. Oh... I get it... my bad... you're just a Troll...
  14. Click on my name and then click the rectangular icon box 3rd to the right. That's all my posts. Search through.
  15. Are you computer retarded??? Not a personal insult... legit question. Click on username, look at content history, find how many separate days I bothered posting there. Peterman sucked donkey balls more than any other QB I think I've ever seen in a Bills uniform in his limited snaps last year and has an arm that is not remotely NFL caliber, that's why. If he improved and strengthened his arm... well... that's good, but the only direction for him really was up. And trust me... I'm rooting for him because he's in a Bills uniform.
  16. Regularly???? Believe me... I'm not a regular. I've checked in there no more than a handful of times... and a couple of those were easily to criticize the thread for its very existence. Check my posting history for your proof... and saying "you posted 5 times today" would only demonstrate ignorance considering all posts pretty much came at once and I'm not remotely responsible for that thing staying on page 1. I'll happily watch it die.
  17. I never wanted to bother with this thread... but unbelievably it's somehow reached 29 pages. Still so confident in Peterman??? Peterman seems like he's improved, but it was almost impossible not to from what he was doing last year. Despite whatever McDermott's claims are about slotting in camp at this moment, 6 weeks from the start of camp... I'm doubting Peterman is any better than 3rd in line for Week #1.
  18. They were last year. This year we're hoping for a healthy KB, a Zay Jones sans the rookie yips, Kerley the Contributor, and nice surprise contributors from any combination of Ray Ray, Streater, Reilly, Dupree, etc. But I think simply a healthy Benjamin makes our WR corps a lot better right out the gate
  19. We all obviously hope we did. Several on this board (posting in this thread as well, I might add) are desperately hoping Cleveland drafted the right QB, too, while also simultaneously hoping that Tyrod sucks and is benched mid-season. These people are sad and might be a little miserable if Taylor isn't benched and if he plays well this season. Just be kind to them if that happens because they just won't know what to post about since half their time in the 3 months he's been gone has mostly been posting about Tyrod Taylor. Just give them a little pick-me-up if that happens while the rest of us go on caring about what happens with the Buffalo Bills rather than the Cleveland Browns.
  20. But... since this ridiculous thread is still going and we’re already hearing the positives from his HC and OC, might as well hear from his QB coach: https://www.google.com/amp/s/articles.cleveland.com/browns/index.ssf/2018/06/for_tyrod_taylor_its_just_the.amp Zampese has watched Taylor, 28, step in take control of Todd Haley's new offense. In practice, he's consistently throwing TD passes -- albeit with no contact -- but the timing and efficiency look good. On Wednesday, he rolled left and fired a TD pass to Jarvis Landry in the back corner of the end zone, where the receiver made one of his vintage acrobatic catches. "I'm so excited to have him,'' Zampese said. "I just can't tell you how excited I am to have him. The standard that he sets and the consistency every day, from the time he's in until the time he's out, I haven't seen a guy keep those hours in the spring time. It just brings some comfort level. You know you can trust him, and every day he backs that up.'' ... "I'm a kid in a candy store,'' said Zampese. "There's no limitations with him. He can throw it down the field, he can run the zone read stuff, he can run a conventional offense. Anything you want him to do, he can do those things and like I said, he's just coming into his own so we're still finding out all of the areas that we can get him into. As we get going back here in training camp, we'll explore those things as we gear the offense towards individual strengths.''
  21. Good Lord... let him. Who cares??? It’s sports, he gave 3 solid years to the city of Buffalo, helped get the team to the playoffs for the first time in nearly 2 decades, built a life with a lot of seemingly lifelong friends on the team, and was traded despite wanting to stay. He handled that trade and has handled talking about his old team on his new team with absolute class, including the playoff comment some of you are stupidly up in arms about. And yep, Allen looks good and threw a 65 yard TD today. Super excited about the kid! But let’s see if he’s able to throw a 70+ yard TD in live regular season action... or better yet... do it twice in one game the way Taylor did for us. Nah... more like you Tay Tay 3 months off the team to the day and you’re clearly still obsessed with him. Plus another 71 yarder in the SAME GAME!!! The obsession is strong with some. Oh my GAAAAWWD!!!
  22. Agreed... I think either his rawness was incredibly overblown or he progressed exponentially in the offseason working with Palmer. And based on Beane’s statement that “raw” was essentially what the media basically inaccurately painted him as, I'd guess more the former than the latter.
  23. Oh good, so you do remember. Was concerned about your memory for a moment Or Fitzy's 98 yarder to TO Yep... they've happened. Not very concerned with the distance of the TD... just concerned with getting the QB who can get us to the most Ws on the field. CoT, huh? Yep... just brought Fitz up, too, cause he also threw some bombs in the Ralph. Bro, who are you even talking to? I'm on your ignore list... aren't I? Get back to your rep count envy of 26CB
