  1. Exactly... those are literally the only 2 moves that would mean anything at all.
  2. As Buffalo716 said... I think it's an upper vs lower body issue. If it's lower body that's fine but upper body is off, you aren't a natural passer and look uncomfortable throwing anything... ala EJ Manuel If it's upper body that's fine but lower body issue off, you learned the basic fundamentals of throwing very young and just need to tweak the lower body footwork stuff that's fixable because it's learned at a later age... ala Josh Allen
  3. It's OTAs... the 1st team reps thing will really start mattering in Training Camp. McDermott already said Allen might get some 1st team reps in Minicamp and that "they have a plan." I'm sure part of that plan will really involve our starting QB earning the job.
  4. Wow... this must be the weenie way of conceding that you were mistaken because you sure have been running in circles right before your mad dash to the hills. If anyone made an assumption, alas, it was you. But this was fun
  5. Here I'll spell it out for you: You argued with Hokie about rankings of QBs and him having Tyrod >>> Jameis You argued "trends matter" and made a simplistic claim that "Tyrod sank down the list while Jameis stayed right around 18 or 19" and then smugly said "thanks" as if your point was proven. It wasn't. In 2015 Jameis was throwing to Mike Evans, Vincent Jackson, & Austin Sefarian-jenkins while Taylor was throwing to Sammy Watkins, Robert Woods, & Charles Clay. Relatively comparable weapons, though I don't think many would argue Taylor's weapons were better. Still, Taylor was better. We progress to 2017 where Jameis is throwing to Mike Evans, Deshaun Jackson, & OJ Howard while Taylor's throwing to Zay Jones, Deonte Thompson, & Charles Clay. I dare you to try typing that those weapons are even remotely comparable with a straight face. Yet, Taylor and Winston were in the same ball park comparatively. If you care about trends, note the trend of who these guys were throwing to. Winston always had at least one pro bowl WR. Taylor often threw to scrubs. The reason I brought Mayfield up had nothing to do with saying Taylor is more talented than him. It's that the 2 will presumably have the same weapons and so, at that point, your statement of comparison can be put to the test. Understand?
  6. Have you been following your own conversation? If so, you should be able to figure it out. Your statement that "#1 picks have more talent than sixth rounders" was tangential to what you were talking about with that other poster. The points I made had to do with the actual point you were discussing, which was not talent of a 1st rounder vs talent of a 6th rounder. Figure it out. Or maybe you already did but you've figured out it's not a solid argument so you're trying to steer the conversation in a different direction to save face. But I did not say and do not believe Taylor has more talent than Mayfield, who is the QB I wanted most in this draft.
  7. BringBackOrton has reading comprehension problems. Wow. Saved.
  8. Well, he's the anointed starter ahead of the #1 overall pick this year, so I guess that'll be a good point of comparison for this really solid argument you've made here
  9. 2015 primary WRs/TEs Bucs- Mike Evans, Vincent Jackson, Austin Sefarian-jenkins Bills- Sammy Watkins, Robert Wood's, Charles Clay 2016 primary WRs/TEs Bucs- Mike Evans, Adam Humphries, Cameron Brate Bills- Roberts Wood's, Marquise Goodwin, Charles Clay. 2017 primary WRs/TEs Bucs- Mike Evans, Deshaun Jackson, OJ Howard Bills- Zay Jones, Deonte Thompson, Charles Clay #weaponsmatter
  10. Life didn't seem easy for the Raiders, Bucs or Giants last year... all have "Franchise QBs"... supposedly.
  11. The thread itself and the fact that the thread exists is 15 pages deep on a Bills message board with posters who seem to only really be able to post about a QB who hasn't been on our team now for almost 3 full months. There's a poster in here (I think everyone can figure him out pretty easily) who I almost never see on this message board. He has posted literally one time about the 2018 and beyond Buffalo Bills team in his 50 posts. The vaaaaaaaassssttt majority of this guy's posts are about Tyrod Taylor. (That took very little effort, before you make some kinda dumb claim about wasting time doing that) I don't hang out in the past... especially brooding over it like an Eeyore. It's why I don't think it's much use talking about Stevie Johnson, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Aaron Schobel, Trent Edwards, Freddie Jackson, Sammy Watkins, Robert Woods, Andy Levitre, Marquise Goodwin, Marshawn Lynch, etc. So, to answer your question, I think this thread and some of the things people are STILL saying in it is absolutely ridiculous, so I match that ridiculousness and raise it with some animation
  12. This is all that needs to be said with regards to Tyrod Taylor and the 2017 Buffalo Bills. It became 100% obvious the moment the bills traded down in the 2017 draft and acquired a 2018 first round draft pick that we were going to be finding our franchise QB in the 2018 draft. It was absolutely obvious at that point. I don't think you would find anyone who didn't say it was absolutely obvious. And it became more obvious every time we acquired a new draft pick. "Ya know, the Bills might draft Watson or Mahomes in this draft... we hear they REALLY like Trubisky." ... "Oh, they traded down, didn't take a QB in the 1st, and acquired a 1st round pick in next year's class, which we already think will be pretty strong???" Traded Sammy acquired a 2nd. Traded Darby acquired a 3rd. Traded Glenn to move from 21 to 12. Taylor isn't a Bill in 2019, and the primary isn't his play, which was good enough for a team drowning in the longest playoff drought in sports (and yes, Taylor was undeniably an important contributor to that playoff run), it's the fact that the Bills got an offer they couldn't refuse, an offer that would ultimately catapult them into even stronger contention to trade up in an upcoming draft to get a QB in a class that, over almost a year of playing out at that point, was turning out to be as strong, if not stronger than it appeared it would be a year ago when the 2017 draft happened and we made an obvious long-game decision. Taylor is gone because the 2018 QB class was stronger than expected and, more importantly, the Bills got a REALLY valuable pick for him. Otherwise, he's still in Buffalo.
  13. Boy... so basically temper your expectations for the offense itself. What exactly does this writer think our expectations are? Did he see this offense last year??? Yeah... I'll maintain my expectations that the offense will improve, thank you very much.
  14. Have people been saying our D would be lights out this year??? We all know Lorax and Kyle are slowing down but still steady. Shaw has been a bust thus far. Hughes hasn't been stellar for a couple years. Our other 2 LBs are inexperienced but talented. All those are big question marks. Our secondary should be excellent. All that said, McDermott is a defensive HC, so I suspect a lot of his time and effort goes to them and, once again, our D carries us into the postseason
  15. Imagine if Joseph McCarthy had Twitter and social media back then. My God we're a different country at this point. McCarthy was so much smarter than 45. It's just too bad it was the perfect storm to get him into office.
  16. Can't wait til the Red Scare 2.0 is over. Hopefully this one lasts no longer than the 4 years the last one lasted, maybe less.
  17. Early impressions of all 32 NFL first-round picks QB Josh Allen. Allen has practiced solely with the third-team offense through the first two weeks, so we're still a ways from seeing how he performs with top receiver Kelvin Benjamin and tight end Charles Clayamong his targets. The eye-opening arm strength and ball velocity have been as advertised with Allen, but so has his questionable accuracy. In a two-minute drill to end Thursday's practice, Allen missed a receiver on first down and later telegraphed an interception on third down. He got a second chance and was much sharper, moving down the field for a touchdown. Status: Too soon to tell. -- Mike Rodak
  18. Taylor regressed in his play as a QB in Buffalo over the last 3 years. You've regressed as a poster over the last 3 years since you've been posting about him. You're still with us, he's not. Maybe we should talk about you.
  19. https://clutchpoints.com/bills-news-tredavious-white-says-josh-allen-will-be-one-of-the-best-young-qbs/ “Josh Allen has been doing a great job of throwing that ball,” White said during an appearance on NFL Network. “I’d say he has a great arm. He’s been throwing it and throwing around. Be on the lookout for Josh Allen, he’s going to be one of the best young quarterbacks in this league for a long time.”
  20. Meh... Benjamin is a WR. Jones might be. Kerley's a vet. Streater/Dupree/Reilly are Wildcards. If 1 or 2 of those guys other than Benjamin shows up, we're fine with an already upgraded RB corps and a now more experienced, pretty solid group of TEs.
  21. You wanted to see certain stats from Taylor, others respond with stats, you respond with "a game is more stats."
  22. I think Taylor is going to have a year similar or better than 2015. The issue with the Taylor dilemma was always that you need to make the decision to build around him with a strong supporting cast if you wanted him to be your QB for more than 5 years. Buffalo waffled on that decision for 3 years. Now, Cleveland isn't building around Taylor, obviously, but all those weapons you mentioned are at least conservatively on par with but probably better than what Taylor had at Buffalo's peak in offensive talent in 2015. This move was great for Taylor, and I think he knows it. But the wonderful thing is that it's also looking like it could be even better for Buffalo. I think people need to just set aside their bitterness via hatred or homerism and move on.
