  1. Against 3rd stringers? Do you think Peterman starts on Friday? AJ is up in the rotation and Allen has been getting 1st and 2nd string reps largely since last week's game. Looking like Allen gets some of those reps in the Cleveland game.
  2. If Allen gets no 1st or 2nd team reps in the game this week, I agree. But I don't think he needs to start to have a good chance. If AJ starts and Allen is 2nd, that's a rotation and it says Allen is still in it.
  3. Based on watching his college film I could find and the 1st half of the preseason game, that difference between 58% and 62% will be more on the WRs and OL than Allen.
  4. Well... the "Allen fanboys" (as you ridiculously call some of us... though I'll be perfectly happy with McCarron to start the season and will ultimately be fine if Peterman actually does) are looking more and more likely to see their guy start sooner rather than later.
  5. Friday Allen gets 1st team reps, and today this observation from Faurburn: It's getting interesting, folks
  6. Exactly. He missed 9 passes. 2 were blatant drops that should have been caught. He'd have a 58% completion % with just those 2 catches. Of the 3 bombs to Foster that were incomplete, 2 of those could have easily been catches and TDs. The 1st one absolutely should have been. Foster turned his head to look back at the QB while running the moment he passed the DB and ran for 30+ yards looking backwards and the ball STILL basically hit his fingertips. Try running 30 yards looking backwards. That was on Foster. The other bomb Foster just stopped running at one point because he thought Allen was sacked. If Foster catches just one of those 2 passes and the 2 blatant drops are caught, Allen has a 63% completion %. If both are caught, he's 68.4%. All while throwing downfield and throwing for another TD or 2. Allen was accurate in that game. That's a great example of stats lying.
  7. Capable, yes. Absolutely will OR will not, absolutely ridiculous--and that, in fact, is what makes no sense.
  8. Absolutely loathed the pick. I wanted Mayfield then Darnold then Rosen or Jackson. Analytics absolutely hated our pick. But this was a true scouting pick. And after we drafted him and I took the time to dive deep into Allen's history and film from middle school on up (some post-scouting), I got more and more excited about a kid that just has one of the most unique stories you're going to see for a top 10 NFL QB prospect.
  9. Didn't say you should, but absolute and definitive statements about things that have yet to pass like that are really ridiculous.
  10. Should tell you whoever wrote that article looked at random highlights and didn't actually watch the game. Bold statement. A statement like that warrants the question of whether you'll leave the message board if you're wrong with no consequences for anyone else if you're right since you're absolutely certain. If that's the case, you risk nothing... right?
  11. I just watched Kelly's "A Football Life" today and it just made me so damn nostalgic. Here's to hoping Allen's our next Buffalo Legend!!!
  12. Do you think 47% is an accurate reflection of how accurate Allen was with his passes in terms of where he wanted the ball to go?
  13. Big words. I'm gonna have to directly quote Bill the Bard here Wanna bet Allen doesn't start a meaningful game this year? Let's bet
  14. You have a reading comprehension problem. Kirby mentioned Alex Smith as the MVP candidate last year specifically to emphasize the outlier that situation was. Nathan Peterman is not Alex Smith... Neither is AJ McCarron, for that matter. Translation... Allen will very very likely start meaningful regular season games in 2018. It doesn't. He has a reading comprehension problem and didn't even understand what was a pretty straightforward post.
  15. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.yahoo.com/amphtml/sports/nfl-preseason-blitz-now-know-bills-fell-love-josh-allens-arm-035632424.html Now we know why the Bills fell in love with Josh Allen's arm https://www.google.com/amp/s/articles.newyorkupstate.com/buffalo-bills/index.ssf/2018/08/the_bills_have_their_most_talented_quarterback_since_jim_kelly_in_josh_allen_say.amp Buffalo Bills have their most talented quarterback since Jim Kelly in Josh Allen, says Adam Schein And on the Colin Cowherd show today, Brady Quinn was a guest and he was asked questions about Baker Mayfield's performance. With absolutely no prompting or mention of Allen's name, Quinn said (to paraphrase) "ya know the guy who I thought was great last night: Josh Allen. He's the guy who looked like the #1 overall pick last night." He brought Allen up again later with no prompting. It's funny because all the negative buzz seems to be solely about that one 4th and 3 play. Nothing negative about him, otherwise
  16. No surprise that Peterman's closet defender is taking jabs at a rookie who had an excellent 1st performance. Too bad. Thank you and thank your brother!!! Allen behind a real OL and let's actually give him a chance to work on these fundamentals. You're mistaken.
  17. The difficulty of preseason though is separating appearance from reality... Peterman was an All-star last preseason, too... remember? I'm okay if he ends up starting, but his ball velocity still looks like something DBs salivate over. His sideline passes will forever terrify me... I think I have PTSD just from watching him last year.
  18. Funny that you literally only refer to one of 3 bombs Allen threw to Foster. The other 2 consisted of a fantastic throw that Foster was looking back at the QB for 20-30 yards while running, which slowed him down just enough for the ball to graze his fingertips. The next was a play where Foster basically just stopped running at one point because he thought Allen was sacked. I watched the game a 2nd time today. Allen's performance really was excellent. Please join reality.
  19. Well, you're in the tiny minority and you're credibility is now even more questionable than it was. Don't live in Buffalo and don't listen to WGR, but from what I've heard the people with opinions on that station and the callers are mostly kooks.
  20. Taylor's gone because of a confluence of events: - Strongest QB class in years... maybe since 1983 -Extra 1st round draft pick as draft capital -The slide up the draft continued moving up to #12 by trading Cordy Glenn -We were offered the 1st pick of the 3rd round for him, providing sufficient confidence to Beane and McDermott we could trade up (or not) to get one of the best QBs in the draft Those are the reasons Taylor's gone. If this were the QB draft class of 2013 all over again, Taylor would still be in Buffalo. Taylor's in a better situation and so are the Bills. It's win/win. This doesn't have to even be a debate for that simple reason.
