I'm fine with starting Peterman week 1 and either feeding him to the wolves or letting him prove all his doubters--like me--very wrong. Right now I guess our OL is looking like it's going to take a massive step backwards from last year. I think Allen is tough enough to stand back there behind the sieve of our OL, but now I'm reaching the "why risk it?" point. I still don't have faith Peterman will be any good once the regular season hits and I think Allen starts by week 5, but I'll be happy if he proves me wrong.

Huh? What's "my side?" I think he's pretty accurate with regard to his feelings about Peterman, but I'm sure there are plenty of other QBs reddog would feel good about. Peterman has just done nothing to earn feelings of comfort at the QB position. I think it's unfathomable that someone earlier actually said they'd be 100% comfortable if he's the starter.

What if Allen isn't good tommorow?

You're 100% comfortable with Peterman as a starter? Yikes! -
Something clearly hasn't been impressive enough to the coaches or GM with regards to Peterman because he's not the one who will be getting the 1st string snaps in the dress rehearsal of the preseason AND he didn't get announced as the starter in the week leading up to that game AND unlike Allen, who is this week getting the 1st team reps in practice rather than rotating, Peterman had to rotate... maintaining the guessing game. Your bar was always just too high. Peterman should be a fine backup. We would have been in serious trouble if he was our starting QB week 1. As a sidenote, when do you plan on shutting this thread down?

https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.democratandchronicle.com/amp/1077552002 Josh Allen gets his big chance to win Bills' QB job: Here's what to watch for But the fact that Allen’s opportunity comes in this game is naturally intriguing because as we all know, teams around the NFL treat the third preseason match as the dress rehearsal for the regular season, then use the fourth game to play as many young kids as possible so they can make their final cases to earn a roster spot. This is the game where the starters will play at least the first half, and probably into the third quarter. Allen will have a longer stint with the first-unit offense than McCarron or Peterman had, and it’s clear that McDermott wants to see how Allen handles it all. and If he nails it, don’t be surprised if Allen starts against the Ravens on Sept. 9. If he doesn’t, then it seems likely that Peterman or McCarron will get the nod, which is what many of us expected in the first place after listening to McDermott say on numerous occasions that he didn’t want to rush Allen into a situation he wasn’t ready for. Is he ready, though? Can Allen stick the landing and make a compelling case to win the job this week? Here are three things I’ll be watching. 1. Does Allen command the huddle? 2. Is he making the right decisions? 3. Is he throwing the ball accurately?

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.theringer.com/platform/amp/nfl/2018/8/23/17772724/josh-allen-buffalo-bills-nfl-preseason-hype Allen hasn’t just been handed the job because, as the no. 7 overall pick, he’s the future of the franchise. The best argument that he should play in Week 1 is that he looks … good? and He has demonstrated some of the exact traits some people (me) doubted, like the poise to avoid a pass rush while keeping his eyes downfield. [Twitter Video clip in article] He so deftly sidesteps Browns defensive end Nate Orchard here (and on every other play Orchard got pressure) that Allen inadvertently made a cameo as Orchard’s white whale in Hard Knocks.

Speaking of the Tyrod obsessed... twoandfourteen... contributions to Tyrod threads as his primary aim, future on any Bills message board in question. -

Yes... Allen era is here. Why are you so obsessed with talking about Taylor? -
NEW NARRATIVE ON TYROD
transplantbillsfan replied to Wagon Circler's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm a Bills fan first and foremost... always have been. I cheer and root hard and loud for whoever is under center for the Bills. Once they're no longer a Buffalo Bill, I might only passively watch. I haven't watched any of Taylor's preseason snaps outside of the Bills preseason game... unlike the pathetic folks on here I've noticed who like to go into Cleveland Browns preseason game day threads (why the hell do those even exist???) and bash him. The reality is you oughtta head on over to the Browns message boards because your entire persona seems to revolve around Trolling Taylor. What on earth, do you do with yourself now? -
NEW NARRATIVE ON TYROD
transplantbillsfan replied to Wagon Circler's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Whoever created this (was it you, Teddy?) clearly didn't pay attention to the Bills... when did Taylor throw to a #13 and a #35 in his 40+ games in Buffalo someone clearly had too much time on his/her hands for a guy who's not even on our team anymore. -
I know you say you're not joking, but clearly the title is hyperbolic based on your actual post. And I agree. I think Beane and McDermott always wanted Allen to start this year, which was why he threw in such weak QB competition. If Allen was worse than the 2 BLEH guys we have, the decision is obvious: play the BLEH QBs and work hard to overachieve while also understanding that being bad with said BLEH QB would give us a high draft pick along with an unfettered opportunity to start Allen next year.

NEW NARRATIVE ON TYROD
transplantbillsfan replied to Wagon Circler's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It might be true. If Taylor plays well this year, that narrative gains a lot of credence. One thing's for sure, his OC last year sucked. -
Couldn't disagree more. I think we get double digit wins this year and firmly make the playoffs. It's too bad these "experts" only pay attention to a handful of teams like the Patriots, Eagles, Cowboys, etc. McDermott's changed the culture and our 2nd most important acquisition this offseason (next to our hopeful future Franchise QB) is an innovative OC who can adjust to the QB he has running his offense. But it's all right, I like overachieving
