  1. McCarron with a hairline fracture on his collarbone. Peterman is clearly hurt in the knee(s) at the end of that game. Allen is going to start, but who do we get to back him up?
  2. Man... I think that was a pretty good call by me Does anyone seriously think Allen isn't the frontrunner after tonight?
  3. And Peterman blows against the 3s. Start Allen.
  4. That's why Peterman shouldn't start
  5. He's big, athletic, tough and mobile. Peterman and McCarron are guys you don't want QBing behind a bad OL. I think Allen is showing he's going to take some rookie lumps, but seems to be able to handle it.
  6. You guys see the background McDermott going up to Taylor and giving him a hug before the game while the Cleveland reporter was being interviewed on NFL Network? Classy... both guys.
  7. Welp... it's McCarron starting, Allen 2nd and Peterman 3rd, so I guess you were incorrect there.
  8. It should be the best QB who gives us the best chance to win who can handle what's thrown at him and not fall into the same quicksand mentality Peterman seemed to fall into last year against the Chargers. Personally, I just think that's the guy who's clearly the most talented guy on the roster right now. I'll be fine with McCarron, but reports are he's just taking a crazy amount of sacks. I don't know if that's more on him or on the OL, but I don't really get the sense that Allen would be rattled if he started and got some pressure. The fact that Allen is the most talented QB on the roster by a mile is the reason I want him to start. But the fact that he seems extremely mentally and emotionally tough is the reason I also think he should start.
  9. I'll refer you to a post from the last page where I responded directly to play: This tells me you clearly didn't watch the breakdown. Allen actually looked off the up front defender enough to get him to hesitate so that Allen could fit that ball in that window. That had nothing to do with NFL starter vs. NFL backup because NFL starters are affected by QBs looking off defenders, as well. Yeah, the middle read in the EZ was open, as well. And it would have been an easier pass, for sure. But again, the video breakdown that you watch gives an explanation for this, as well.
  10. Look at Happydays thread with the Cover1 breakdown of Allen's final drive and watch the part where they break down that TD throw: It's really not at all that "Allen just stared down double coverage" considering the subtleties of what he did to get that CB to be just late enough to dive for the ball and it's broken down pretty well in that video.
  11. Really? I'll respectfully disagree. That was just a spectacular throw by Allen. Another poster said that the throw looked "ill-advised" when he threw it--and it did look that way--except for the fact that Allen escaped pressure and threw the ball about as accurately as he could have to Lee 40 yards in the air while going backwards off his back foot. It didn't look like a pass that should have been thrown, except that it was an extremely accurate pass. Like I said, Lee had great awareness because of the body he put into the defender so he had the space to catch the ball. That part of the process of the catch was fantastic. The catch was a pretty standard NFL catch.
  12. It's the slow burn approach. I love it. Great acting is absolutely necessary for it to work. But it's what makes scenes like Kim blowing up at Howard or the final scene of the last episode that much more effective.
  13. The sideline one? Was that a great play/catch by the receiver making up for a bad throw by the QB or a great play/catch by the receiver combined with a great throw by the QB? I don't even know that Lee's catch was anything more than great awareness and a good NFL catch.
  14. Fascinating... Not even a "depends on how each QB plays," huh?
  15. Yep Joe B: 7 observations from 2018 Buffalo Bills training camp - Day 15 1) Josh Allen with the twos again- Well, it wasn't quite the first-team work that could have happened given the rotation over the last two days, but the fact that the Bills gave rookie quarterback Josh Allen the full day with the second-team offense is vital in itself. Now having taken two straight days of second-team reps, this is getting Allen acclimated with players that, for the most part, will be on the 53-man roster when all is said and done. He's throwing to roster-caliber receivers, and against roster-caliber defenders. Furthermore, getting him involved with the second-team offense for two straight days could also mean the Bills are readying him for work with the second unit in Friday's preseason game in Cleveland. Should that trend hold on Wednesday, the last practice of training camp, that would be the best evidence we could get that would confirm the plan for Allen on Friday. With the second-team, Allen looked smooth and sharp while connecting on 9-of-14 passes, and barely missing Malachi Dupre for a touchdown on a deep post. If he plays well enough against Cleveland, perhaps he might warrant some more first-team time ahead of the team's third preseason game -- which have practices in Orchard Park that are no longer open in full to the media. As for the other two quarterbacks, Nathan Peterman and A.J. McCarron flipped responsibilities from how the Bills positioned them on Monday. Peterman worked with the third-team offense on Monday and was with the top unit on Tuesday -- and vice versa for McCarron. Peterman went 9-of-9 while taking a pair of sacks with the ones, and McCarron was 9-of-12 with the third unit. Neither player has done anything to cancel themselves out of the competition to be the starting quarterback, which further complicates Sean McDermott's ultimate decision. and then today's depth chart: https://www.wkbw.com/sports/bills/2018-buffalo-bills-training-camp-depth-chart-day-16 AJ #1 Allen #2 Peterman #3 That's how it looks like it's going to be for Friday.
  16. If it's McCarron, Allen, then Peterman... will you change your tune?
  17. Ummm... which passes from Allen did WRs have to make great catches on? I named every single one I claimed were on WRs as Incompletions... so which ones did the WRs bail Allen out on with "great catches?"
  18. Yikes! 3) A glimpse into life without Charles Clay- As the Bills practiced on the turf field for the first time this camp due to all the rain earlier in the day, they rested starting tight end Charles Clay likely due to the unforgiving nature those turf fields tend to have. It's also probably why the Bills chose to have a practice in shorts rather than in full pads. However, it was good that the Bills rested Clay primarily because it helped indicate what their tight end depth chart really is -- especially with all the changes over the last three days. It was clear throughout practice, too. The top three tight ends, without fail, were Jason Croom, Khari Lee, and Logan Thomas. Nick O'Leary, once the second tight end for the majority of camp, was yet again pushed down to work with the second and third-team offenses. I've written it the last few days, but O'Leary is in major roster trouble as it stands. The Bills love Lee, they've seen Croom develop, and Thomas has become a well-rounded tight end over time. Not having Clay at practice is just more proof that O'Leary needs to step it up.
  19. 2 blatant drops are caught and Foster runs full speed rather than looking backwards for 30+ yards while running OR flat out just stopping in the middle of a route for just 1 of the 2 bombs Allen threw him and that's 64% completion %. Not a recognized stats across the board, but any normal person's eyes should be able to pretty easily see that culpability for 1/3rd of the Incompletions in that game lies pretty much solely on the hands of sub-par WRs who can't catch or don't understand the concept of finishing a route.
  20. Sums it all up right here. Peterman's INTs will be because he's very limited. Allen's INTs will be because he's trying to figure out his limits. The only way you figure out your limits in the NFL is testing them in live game action. That's the basic reason Allen starts sooner rather than later. Maybe not in Baltimore (though I think that's still pretty likely), but this season. Oh man... here's a monkey wrench in the chain from those notes: "With the second-team, Allen looked smooth and sharp while connecting on 9-of-14 passes, and barely missing Malachi Dupre for a touchdown on a deep post. If he plays well enough against Cleveland, perhaps he might warrant some more first-team time ahead of the team's third preseason game -- which have practices in Orchard Park that are no longer open in full to the media. " I'm sensing a last minute starting QB announcement to keep Baltimore on their toes... Allen- 42% McCarron-33% Peterman-25% Those are my odds.
