  1. It's early Honest question since you're more into the weeds than many of us: Don't you think the Keon Coleman pre-injury last year was having a pretty solid rookie WR season?
  2. And? Was this tweet about CAP or actual cash paid to players on offense? Doesn't specify, does it? And his restructure involved giving him a ton of cash. I even posted the thread with verified links earlier this season So... is this CAP or cash???? Big difference of $30m for Josh on that important distinction in the OP
  3. Are QB contracts is accounted for in these numbers? They're part of the offense so it would only make sense. If so, last offseason in Josh's restructure Beane moved a ton of money into his 2024 season so that I think Josh made like $55-$60m last season. Sorry if that destroys your narrative here, but now find the numbers that subtract QB contracts. Nice try though.
  4. Brah... he signed an obviously team friendly contract that is below market value no matter what ANYONE says. Humans are complex beings. We can have multiple thoughts at the same time. Josh can be so confident in himself and his ability that he's willing to take a team friendly deal while simultaneously understanding that the narrative often favors the highest paid QB. Josh cares because he cares about being the best QB in the NFL
  5. Really??? How much game film do you watch? How many times have you seen Benford get burned or even targeted over the years? I don't watch film but trust the guys who do like Joe Marino, Nate Tice, Bruce Nolan and Robert Mayes. Those guys all think he's somewhere in the range of really good to Elite. Benford's camp was smart to hold out. His price range is probably somewhere between $25-$30m AAV
  6. Anyone questioning this signing in lieu of his contract and suspension should listen to this interview: Legitimately excited to see what his role will be in our Defense
  7. I don't want to read this entire thread for the answer, but I would guess a suspension like this by the league would have an impact on their money, wouldn't it? Also, I'm really excited about Hoecht when he gets onthe field.
  8. We knew this was coming right? Upgrade over Elam for the 3rd CB. Now we get the starter
  9. Was he ever good? That said, I like the signing. Can't hurt to see what an ultra talented guy has in him and whether playing with Josh will help him.
  10. Good. Now bring back Dane Jackson, a higher end FA CB, and a CB in the top 3 rounds. Buffalo now has 8 picks in the first 5 rounds. Pretty awesome.
  11. By the way, for those wondering this signing does NOT count against the Comp pick formula since he was released.
  12. Can you please summarize for those who suck at Where's Waldo?
  13. Brought back Ty for 2 years. Ray Davis looked good. Lots of people saying this is the best Rb class in years. Are we poised to trade Cook?
  14. All of the film nuts and football nerds actually really like Palmer. He was Joe Marino's FA WR target. Anyone who listens to The Athletic Football Show knows that Robert Mayes really knows his stuff and Palmer was one of his "who's the Zach Baun of 2024 breakout star for 2025."
  15. I dunno man... a lot of the guys who watch the film think he's already a top 5 CB.
  16. That's the crazy part of all of this. I don't think it was the draft capital. We could have easily thrown in one of our 4ths or 5ths or a couple this year to sweeten the pit. I think this was the extension money. $33m AAV???? I'm sure Beane knew that's what it would take and was out. I really don't blame him. DK might have also wanted to reunite with Russ and might've gotten assurances
  17. How exactly would bringing him back even work? Is it even possible to bring him back and save even more money after having already released him?
  18. What did you guys want to happen? Trade him? If you wanted us to trade him then fine. If not, this move actually frees up a bunch of CAP space for us right now for a potential Garrett trade and extension. And I don't know if he has the 10th highest AAV through this extension, but let's say he does. In 2026 when the actual money for the extension itself kicks in it's probably going to be in the 15-20 range after other guys get contracts. This deal in no way prohibits a big trade. EDIT: just saw the Garrett extension. So much for that...
  19. Much like the Bernard and Shakir contracts, does this account for the "extension" part of this? These aren't 4 year deals... they're 5 year deals. This is essentially a 5 year, $93ish million contract. The reality is Groot's AAV for the next 5 years is less than $19m. Are even the haters good with that???? Also, this move freed up a ton of CAP space. I would say these extensions make a bit move more likely, not less likely.
  20. I l9ve that the AFC West is quietly becoming one of the beat divisions in Football
  21. Guaranteed money is all that matters. AAV is really for agents. Bernard just signed for HALF the guaranteed money Edmunds got with Chicago a couple years ago. Good deal.
  22. It's Garrett, but a different part of me would prefer Hendrickson so we can keep our 1st and at least 1 of our 2nds. I think part of my ideal offseason is starting to land on still very good but not insanely expensive pass rusher and some combination of 320+ LB, WR, & CB with our first 3 picks. Also wondering if we don't go for Mack in FA. Optics won't be great because of age but he's still awesome. If we traded for Henderson and then got Matthew Golden in the 1st, Alfred Collins with our 2nd and a CB next, I'd be pretty darn excited. Or maybe instead we should get a CB with our 2nd and Jordan Phillips with our next pick just fir consistency. It's still Garrett, though.
