  1. I tend to like my quarterbacks to come out of college knowing how to throw a football. Jackson should switch to receiver now before his NFL dreams get dashed.
  2. What did they think about Kirk Cousins, Derek Carr, Dak Prescott, Russell Wilson, Drew Brees, Tom Brady, Jimmy Garoppolo, and even Tyrod Taylor? 25% of the league is made up of starting QBs that no team ever thought would be any good. He is statistically superior to all of them outside of Mayfield, has every tangible you look for in a QB and played well in the big games. I'm sure he's nothing but a scrub. Too bad callout threads aren't allowed, because your hot take is ripe for one 5 years from now.
  3. Ah yes, attacking my credibility. The last stand of a man who lost a discussion a long time ago. It was fun. By the way, based on the way NFL teams fight over QBs at the top of the draft, I'm positive I couldn't do any worse.
  4. If you move up to #1 who is it? Could be any one of 4 guys. How do you make such drastic moves ina draft that doesn't have a clear cut #1. Eli was indisputably the top prospect. This year may have a lot of solid prospects, but not a one of them are blue-chip locks the way Peyton or Eli were.
  5. Based on what? I watched him play a ton, and he's probably the 2nd best QB in the draft. 65% completion percentage with nearly 5000 yards against top-tier competition is trash? Ricky Vaughan...err... Josh Allen can't hit the broad side of a barn and played at Wyoming. I'll take Mason Roethlisberger all day.
  6. I think it's loser thinking being pressured to move up to draft a guy like Darnold or Allen that never did a damn thing in college and are sub-par in every metric to Mayfield or Rudolph - just because you need one. Reeks of desperation.
  7. This is good news. It was going to cost a king's ransom to get up that far. Stand pat at #12. If Mayfield slips, grab him there. If not, Rudolph at #22 would be perfect.
  8. How Mayfield isn't the consensus #1 blows my mind. Best QB by a mile on the eye test, in a different area code on the stat sheet, and won the big games. He'd probably be a national champion if his coach called a single passing play in 3 overtimes.
  9. He's been washed up for years. Perfect fit in NY.
  10. I feel pretty confident they're going to get one...
  11. Kaepernick would be the perfect signing for the Bills. Extremely high character, playoff experience, makes republicans sad... What more could you want in a bridge QB?
  12. Last I remember, Whaley was GM on draft day, and finished with another stellar draft. There's no way McDermott had any time to look into who any of those players really were.
  13. A strong class, but missing a bonafide can't miss prospect. Any or all of these QBs could bust hard.
  14. I was gonna say something to this effect. I'm as happy as anyone to be getting a new QB, but all of this wheeling and dealing is only necessary because McDermott didn't like Watson last year. None of the QBs available this year come remotely close to matching his resume. They should have just stood pat and picked him instead of trying to figure out which of these 5 QBs is the right one.
  15. Because if you spend one 2nd to become a major contender today, and spend the other to be a major contender for the next 15 years, it's capital well spent. Effectively that gets the Bills a SB MVP, a blue chip QB prospect, and two 3rd round picks in the first 65. I'll take that every time. This is why they collected what they did - not to draft some guard.
  16. Did your life start in 2013? This is such ridiculous hyperbole. Then again, it's Buffalo I guess.
  17. You guys know you can do both right? The bills are loaded with ammo. When push comes to shove a 2nd will get it done for Foles. The eagles have nothing invested, can't use him, and his value will be 0 once the draft starts.
  18. You think EJ is one of the worst QBs you've ever seen? Is he the only QB you've ever seen? He's undeniably the best QB of his class, so what does that make the other guys? He's still in the league after 5 years, so what does that make the hundreds of NFL QBs that didn't make it that far? He wasn't good, but he wasn't awful, and I don't think he's started his last game, either.
  19. Well, they did fire the OC and are rumoured to want to get into the top 5 of the draft to get a QB. That should answer your questions.
  20. If I'm Spielman, I dont keep any of them. That team is built for a Super Bowl, albeit with an aging defense. I do everything I need to in order to get Cousins, then I draft all defense this year.
  21. And now he hasnt been healthy in 2 years with injuries to his throwing shoulder. There was a report a couple months ago that the injury was so bad some people were thinking he was done forever. If you could draft a kid in the top 5 (plus trade compensation) or roll the dice that he'll be fine as a new coach/GM what would you do?
  22. Because frankly at this point he's closer to Jay Cutler than Aaron Rodgers. I loved Andrew Luck when he came into the league, but he's really done nothing worth mentioning besides beat up on the worst division in football and get schooled in the playoffs.
  23. Maybe you should re-read it. The stat is at the time of QB release. Taylor has the longest time to throw in the league this year and at least 2015, not sure about '16. During that time, we've also ranked dead last in YAC. I put the blame on Taylor, because he doesn't release the ball at the top of routes, so WRS don't stay open. I just won't listen to the fact the Benjamin, Clay, Watkins, Woods gave him no weapons over the last two years. The guy is a total bum as a passer. Fix that and then we can worry about WRs.
  24. Nonsense. I watched them run free constantly. The big difference is that to Taylor a step or, god forbid, a CB on the wrong hip is still covered. We saw when Peterman came in that plays were there to be made. He missed a lot more than he hit, but that's a limitation on his own development, not on the WRs. If Taylor QB'd the vikings, he checks that 4th down throw to Mike Tolbert who stole McKinnon's jersey before the last drive.
  25. Why not? Tyrod made Kelvin Benjamin and Jordan Matthews look like bums this year, and Watkins & Woods before that. It wouldn't have mattered if he had Jerry Rice and Randy Moss out there, we'd still be dead last in YAC.
