  1. Didn't ever say that. Try again.
  2. Well enough to win against an average team, sure. Well enough to win against the best team in the sport? No. Not even a little bit. Mahomes was near perfect. If Josh wanted to move on, he needed to be at that level too. I already said it was a total team loss, but Josh can't control that. All he can control is his own play, and this notion that he can't be any better than he is, is false. He didn't look like an MVP out there last night. If he played an MVP game, that would've done the job. The defense, for all of their warts, did hold Kelce to 19 yards of two catches, and stifled KC's running game until the very end. We needed a play from someone - could have been Kincaid, Johnson, Cook, but there's no one better equipped to deliver one than Allen. Unfortunately, he didn't have it when we needed it either.
  3. When is this going to stop? It's patently false. Mahomes outplayed Allen AGAIN yesterday,a nd he looked cool as a cucumber doing it. The game has never been too big for him - not once. Mahomes is in a tier of 1 right now and in a tier of 2 all-time. It's him and Brady - that's it.
  4. Josh had a bad night from the opening drive and never really looked like himself, but it was a complete team loss. The playcalling and strategy was poor - completely abandoning the run that got us here Josh was rattled/rushed a lot of the game making poor decisions/executing poorly despite walking away with a clean sheet on the night. The offensive line was terrible The defensive line had a few big plays int he passing game and did well against the run for portions of the game, but they weren't consistent enough The secondary was a disaster, constantly taking poor angles to ball carriers. Elam in particular was a nightmare. I don't know if he's a redeemable player, but he surely isn't as a bill. Jackson should have played over Bishop.
  5. They didn't have to be to beat the Texans. They were in command of the game the entire time. When they needed to get the plays to close it out, they did - like they always do.
  6. He's 28... If you want to beat them, what alternative do you have? They're no worse than the 2nd most dominant dynasty in the history of the sport. They're flawless when it matters.
  7. Hard pass.
  8. calling football fixed is the laziest take anyone could possibly have. First of all, no it isn't. The Bills largely deserved the penalties they got just as much as KC deserved theirs. Second of all, Fixing pro football would be impossible. Third of all, if they were going to fix the game, why go with the Chiefs when the Bills upset would be far more beneficial to everyone in the league. The premise of parity is what's vaulted the NFL to the most profitable league in the nation. Ask Josh if he thinks the game was rigged, or if he and a bunch of his teammates absolutely sucked out there tonight. I bet I know which answer he'd go with.
  9. Nope. Watching the two most insufferable fanbases in the NFL battle it out? Doing nothing would be a better use of time.
  10. The refs has nothing to do with the outcome today. We had every opportunity to win, and predictably choked.
  11. Sure, let's do it.
  12. Outcoached on both sides of the ball, Allen was rattled too much of the game and missed too many throws, and our secondary was taking terrible angles all night. I didn't expect us to be here a few months ago, but watching them gift-wrap this game for KC was painful. Chance after chance and not a one of them could find a way to rise to the occasion. Are we ever going to have a real discussion that maybe this group has peaked?
  13. Not sure if you noticed, but on non-blitzing plays most of the D-line was trying to contain. It seems they rarely had more than 1 of the 4 push Lamar while the rest held their gaps so he couldn't run free. For what it's worth, it worked very well too.
  14. Why would I be upset losing to one of the greatest dynasties in the history of the sport? You aren't supposed to beat these teams, especially in their home stadium. Put the shoe on the other foot. If you're a Chiefs fan, how would you feel losing to the Bills - a team without a 1st team All pro player, a 1000 yard receiver, a 4000 yard passer, and a defense with a double-digit sacker or anyone with more than 2 INTs, in your own house. The Chiefs should expect to win this game by any metric, the Bills shouldn't.
  15. I'm also extremely pleased with the team's performance this year. Win or lose, I was very encouraged by the way the team was prepared last week against a more talented Ravens team and was extremely pleased to see that they didn't play down tot he Broncos' level the week prior. I've been a vocal critic of McDermott since the day he was hired, but this season has been, by far, his best. He still had some bad looks in the regular season, but it's the first time I've ever seen his staff outcoach people. Earlier int he season, I gave the Bills a 5% chance to win the Super Bowl. I think that number is considerably higher now. I don't think they're favorites, but I can see an argument where they have as good a shot as anyone, because of how they're prepared and how they're executing. I think we are a better team than the Chiefs, but I don't "expect" us to win, nor will I be particular upset if we don't. However, the perfect scenario may have presented itself to us to actually win the whole damn thing this year, so I'll be on the edge of my seat.
  16. Yes, it's technically true, but it's pedantic to belabor it. Yes, clearly everyone knows that Lamar is not defending Josh's passes, but the QB vs QB thing isn't all that different to describing individual games like Golf, Darts, Bowling etc. Phil Mickelson wasn't roleplaying as a sandtrap when he faced off against Tiger Woods, but he still played againt him, even if the game was really just playing against the course. Yes, it's absolutely a team game, but these guys understand the reality. Josh sees what Lamar is doing when he plays and if he scores a TD, he knows he has to go out there and score blow for blow. I think it matters more than a little.
  17. I've done it several times over the years, but only with a spread. Betting against the Bills is win-win in my book. If The Bills win, I'm not mad about losing the bet. If they lose, I get something out of it.
  18. No one said the stats were wrong. What value the stats have is definitely open to interpretation however. Point per game is an inflationary statistic, with teams scoring 10% more points per game than they did 20 year ago. If you add 10% to the scoring offenses in the year 2000, we'd have the fourth highest scoring offense that year.
  19. Something he has done for years - see Devin Singletary, Gabe Davis, Ty Johnson last year and you could even argue Dawson Knox a couple years back. I'm not here to say Joe Brady is doing a poor job - he's clearly not. There have been some boneheaded calls, but he's generally done well from what I can see. There's a big gap between doing a great job and historic, best OC of all time though. Joe Brady isn't exploiting defenses with playcalls in a way we've never seen before. This isn't a prime Brady or Manning squad where we are an unstoppable juggernaut picking defenses apart systematically with no way to stop us. The difference between our squad this year and during Dorsey's reign last season was that Josh has finally bought into, and figured out the message that was being preached going all the way back to the start of last season, and maybe even earlier - Be smart with the football, and trust the open man. He's not looking to heave it downfield, taking off and running at the first sign of distress, or whip the ball into tight windows or multiple coverages nearly as much as he was doing so in years prior. In short, he looks boring a lot of the time, and boring is exactly what it takes to win consistently against top competition. Brady and Mahomes mastered the art of being boring. Manning never really did until his body told him he didn't have any other choice. Josh finally figured it out and by not putting on the cape every play, he may win his first MVP, and if he can keep evolving as he gets older, it probably won't be his last. How much credit does Brady get for that? Certainly some, because he's shepherding it, but it wasn't his idea and the catalyst for our success is still mostly Allen.
  20. The hyperbole here is off the charts. Just checking, the guy still has Josh Allen right?
  21. Miami would be the best option given our record against them. I'm legit concerned about a Cinci matchup. Burrow will torch this defense, so Allen will have to go blow for blow and if that happens the game comes down to coaching, where I give Cinci the edge.
  22. Looked to me like Lamar made a really strong case this past week that Allen likely won't be able to top because he's playing bottom of the NFL teams, while Baltimore just wrecked two division leaders. Maybe they give the nod to Allen anyway, but if recency is at all relevant, Jackson has a stronger case, especially with Allen struggling last week.
  23. I had no idea the Gumbels were so old.
  24. Nope. Highest scoring team int eh league, and I'm in the championship this week. First year of a 12-team, 5 year dynasty. Unfortunately, looks like I'm going to lose this week because of the bears and the Texans games.
  25. He has 19 TDs to 6 INTs. I'm not sure what mistakes you think he's making, but they can't be anywhere near as catastrophic as you claim. I've watched the kid a lot of the year as I needed up with him, Moore and Keenan Allen in fantasy.
