Live 2024 NFL Draft thread - Rounds 4-7 (Do NOT tip the Bills pick)
BullBuchanan replied to SDS's topic in The Stadium Wall
What is "good"? I'll be shocked if they win more than 7 or 8 games And think 45 is more likely. Williams has high bust potential written all over him, and Eberflus should have been canned before all these new players came in. -

good shot at a top 10 pick in the 4th next year. -

That may be true, but you don't replace all of that with rookies in one offseason. Last year's version of Jordan Poyer will likely be better than any safety drafted in the 4th+ round this year. Same thing with all the others. -

They're definitely not in a super bowl window, but a lot of folks are lying to themselves. You don't lose 6 starters including 5 captains and stay in a Super Bowl window. If this draft pans out, a new window could open in 2025, but my money is on 2026. -

I'd like it but not sure they'd cut Mitch and less sure they'd keep a roster spot for a 3rd QB. I wish the NFL would give teams a spot for a #3 QB. I think it would make the league way better if teams could earnestly develop reserve quarterbacks. -

You know that just because a receiver didn't catch a target doesn't mean it was a drop, right? He dropped 2 passes on 17 targets in the 2023 postseason and 8 on 160 targets int he regular season. If you want to compare Diggs drops to Allen's Bad Pass percentage, you might be surprised. -

Too bad he didn't throw to Diggs a little more. Maybe he would have led us to Conference championship instead of another Pro-am. Also, Mack Hollins is a completely serviceable WR4, especially when you have Kincaid and Knox. He'll be the 6th passing option most likley -

Then you have Shakir, Kincaid and Samuel. I'm not banking on Coleman to be anything more than our 4th most productive receiver. It's a bit different with RB where our #2 will likely take 35-40% of the snaps. -

did we not draft a WR with our first pick? Any WR you draft here is going to be #4 on the depth chart best case scenario and the #6 or #7 option in the passing game. I expect they might take a late round flier on a guy, but if they don't there are plenty of FAs available if they decide we need a player there (i don't think we do though. -

because players get hurt and ideally you don't want Ty Johnson as your #1 back if Cook misses time? -

Not sure that matters. More likely than not he's gonna play 4 years and then he'll be gone. You're still getting his best years. -

I sure do. He seems to have greatly enhanced his surehandedness, he has a knack for getting open and plays physical. If he's schemed as a #1/#2 type guy I don't see any reason he won't hit 1000 yards. Admittedly I had no idea who he was until we drafted him, but then I started reading about him and watching him at Boise and I couldn't really understand why he fell so far. Kinda seemed like a 2nd/3rd round kinda prospect to me. The types of weaknesses in his draft scouting are the kinds of things you see all the time from guys that are picked late and turn into really good players. https://www.nfl.com/prospects/khalil-shakir/32005348-4110-7427-f34a-bb0aa1d8e556 https://www.nfldraftbuzz.com/Player/Khalil-Shakir-WR-BoiseState -

We still need another Safety, CB #3/#4, a DE#3/#4, depth across the entire OL, more LBs can never hurt as we saw last year and of course another RB as you mentioned. -

I think there's a difference between game changing players and super stars when it comes to WRs. KC just won back to back Super Bowls with Kelce and a pile of JAGs. Shakir and Kincaid changed the game plenty last year with big plays. So did Cook. If Shakir can scale his production across more volume, Kincaid continues his progression, and Samuel hits career average numbers, we shouldn't have any issue with having enough receiving weapons to get the ball to, especially when you toss in Cook, Knox, the rookie, and a potential for Shorter to do something. FWIW I'ma big believer in Shakir. I think he'll post top 30 WR numbers. I also think Kincaid will. If Coleman can be good for 600-700 and Samuel around the same, I think we'll be in a decent spot. Could we still use another guy? Sure, most teams could. It'll only be a problem if we start suffering injuries. -

Not sure that's needed if your goal is winning a Super Bowl someday. -

Kinda seems like a Gabe Davis clone. Would that be a win or would we be disappointed if he doesn't become a more complete player? -
He did and then some

kind of a weird pick for a big slow guy here. I don't know much about him, but I see the pick getting panned pretty hard compared to McConkey. Not sure what that skill set does int his offense though. Would have preferred the trade down here, but oh well. Hopefully he's decent for us. -
Who do you want with our first pick in 2nd?
BullBuchanan replied to Back2Buff's topic in The Stadium Wall
DeJean or trade down for me. I think I like the trade down more. -
What if all this isnt about this year but next year?
BullBuchanan replied to steven50's topic in The Stadium Wall
It is about next year - but that means getting talent this year to be ready. We're replacing 7 important pieces on our team this year. Hopefully next year that number is 2-3, and hopefully we aren't depending on the draft for immediate impact starters. This year is just about getting the next generation of guys up to speed while we eat a bunch of bad contracts and hopefully keeping a winning culture going. -
Bills interested in Deebo Samuel per Mike Giardi

They days of FA WRs are clearly in their prime, in case you haven't noticed.
