Talent vs Multiple low level players?
BullBuchanan replied to 100DollarBills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
These signings remind me of the early 2000s. The Bills brass are bringing in consolation prizes with a general philosophy of you can win with a bunch of average JAGs. Morse excluded. Don't see us making a deep run on the backs of Cole Beasley and John Brown. -
Don't need WR's when all you do is run the triple option, wishbone, and wildcat.

TE Tyler Kroft (Bengals) to the Bills

Well, it's kinda like sending someone to the store to buy an xbox with all the cash they need and find out they bought this with the cash from a guy in the parking lot: ] If you aren't angry, you're easily scammed. -
Titans Signing Former Bucs WR Adam Humphries

The titans already grossly overpaid. -
If Foles beats Brees, I think you have to trade Wentz. Wentz has one good year to his name so far.
-
If you just forget about what they're getting paid, and how they were acquired, who's the better QB? I think the answer is Foles. Obviously Wentz has more talent, but Foles is the one taking this team deep for the second year in a row. You might win less regular season games with him, but he's already won more SB's.

So realistically, who do you want at 9?

I changed my mind. We need to do whatever it takes to draft Josh Allen, just to confuse every commentator and listener for the rest of their careers. -

I want them to trade back as many times as possible. Give me 4 2nd round picks and 6 third round picks instead. Then give me David Sills. Incredible story and player. -

Offensive Rookie of the Year

Barkley is the easiest pick there is. If the giants were a playoff team He'd be in the MVP conversation. He's better than the rest of the Giants roster combined. -
I don't believe in the 3 year plan happening in '19

A couple things have changed in the last 50 years. -

This team is at least 2-3 more years away from being a contender. There's minimal FA talent in 2019 as of now, and expect Kyle to retire -- creating a hole that Phillips has yet to prove he can fill. It's unrealistic to expect 2019 rookies to have an immediate impact that can turn it all around at positions like WR, late round RBs, OLine, Dline. If somethign happens to Brady, allen improves enough, or we get better WR play, we may be able to sneak in a WC here as a 1 and done team again. 2020, Lorenzo retires and creates a another hole. Shady is definitely gone, so now we need to have a marquee RB. Hughes might be considering retirement by now. Hopefully some of the 2019 rookies (WR) have started to come around and Edmunds and Phillips have proven they're serviceable starters or even stars. If not, draw again. if everything works in the Bills favor here, MAYBE they could have a little run to the playoffs, but I can't write a script that makes them championship contenders here. 2021. Assuming Allen is great, we have a stud WR, stud WR, lines are shored up, DB depth, Brady is now the most obnoxious commentator in sports - now we can finally talk about realistic scenarios for a championship team. -
Rating the Rookie QBs - What the Numbers Show
BullBuchanan replied to The Frankish Reich's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'd argue he hasn't grown a bit as a passer so far. He's exactly as advertised with the exception of being a much bigger double threat. However, that may be more a product of him not handling his reads as well as he should. He's still a big armed athletic thrower with accuracy issues who doesn't always process his reads correctly or fast enough. I like his leadership. None of this is a problem right now though. He's done a good enough job so far on a really bad team. Growth typically doesn't happen during the season for a rookie. It's far more likely that it'll happen in the offseason, and then maybe during the next year as he irons out what he needs to. The biggest thing for me is that he learns how to control power. He might be able to throw a ball 65MPH in shorts, but sometimes he doesn't put enough heat on the ball, other times (flats) he puts way too much, and his trajectory on deep balls leaves a lot to be desired. Those are all fixable, and I expect him to make a massive jump assuming he has the appropriate coaching, which is far, far, far from a foregone conclusion. -

Probowl selections - No Bills Selected
BullBuchanan replied to One Buffalo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He has one int because he's rarely targeted. There was a stretch of games this year you could be forgiven for thinking he wasn't even playing because he just eliminated his opponent from the game. He's absolutely elite tier. -

Trolling. -
False. Former QBs have one set of experience: theirs. Analysts, whose job is to understand and break down the play of QBs have watched thousands. Every time I hear somebody say I've been doing X for 25 years, as some sort of basis for a claim, I know there's a high chance something stupid is about to come out of their mouth. If QB's were so great at breaking down QBs, more of them would be coaches.

How many films did Roger Ebert direct? How many former chefs hand out Michelin Stars? Most good critics come from a background that emphasizes consumption of a tremendous amount of content, and deduction skills to properly analyze what they consumed. All Chris Collinsworth knows is "back when I was a wide receiver".
