  1. Have you watched him play? He's on TV every week here. I think if you were able to get inside Beane's head, he's thinking he picked the wrong guy.
  2. The Bills are definitely in the top 10. They've had exciting games here and there and memorable moments. but they haven't been an "exciting" team since at least Fitzpatrick was here. This season's been particularly rough, because for all intents and purposes every game is just a scrimmage where only one guy's performance matters. Milano breaking out has been a welcome addition. This team is hopefully in the later stages of rebuild, and 50% of this roster is unlikely to be in the long term plans. I keep rooting for Zay to do stuff, I hope Edmunds can figure out how to play run D, I get excited watching Milano, but really all I'm there to do is see if the Bills have to draft another QB. None of these WRs seem like they have a bright future, though Foster and Jones have had their moments, the whole line is likely to be replaced, same with our TEs, everyone on our D-line is a known quantity with ceilings likely already passed, safeties are a known quantity, McCoy is Vontae Davis-level done, no exciting backs behind him, and our corners besides White have played respectably, but most of them probably won't be here long term. To me, watching a bunch of lame-duck players in another losing season doesn't make for a very exciting product, but I'm ok with that if either the one guy that needs to progress does so, or the coaches realize he isn't progressing and adjust course next season.
  3. No, Vander Esch made himself a star. Right now he looks like the best linebacker talent to come out of the draft in 10 years.
  4. Is thisa reminder of how you were wrong? I'm not seeing any other reason for this necro.
  5. Ah, my bad. I thought he was already in his 4th and they declined his option. Then my answer changes to Decline the 5th year, because he's not worth that, and see what happens next year. I think there's a pretty close to zero chance he blows up into a star player, but he'll be a contributing rotational player.
  6. I think he did very well if you consider it all about progression. Objectively, I don't think it was a great day, but a solid one that looked better than the box score.
  7. Of course. When he's great, he looks all-time elite, but he doesn't go there enough to offset the times where looks terrible. DO you want a QB like that? I don't. It makes it impossible to create a plan to win games on a consistent basis, because you never know what you're going to get. I'd rather have a guy that doesn't fly as high, but has a higher floor. Cam has had extremely talented teams around him with HOF talent and they constantly under-perform.
  8. I think the Jags could use the return on a Ramsey trade to help get them a QB. The Rams could make an interesting trade partner, as could the chiefs. I think he has to go to a team that's Super Bowl ready with a QB on a rookie deal. That way you could pay Ramsey the $20M/season he'll need while you ride out the cheap years of your rookie.
  9. Do you think he stays? Personally, I hope we don't bring him back at anything exceeding 4.5M/per.
  10. I'm not sure they're that different in their ability to win football games. Foles had one great year and so did Cam. They both look terrible sometimes, and Cam has this way of absolutely blowing it against teams he should crush. I just don't think Newton is a very good QB. He'll come out one week and look like an MVP, and then he can't complete obvious reads and easy passes. He's inconsistent in the worst ways.
  11. What success? And he was also the reason his team lost the Super Bowl. He isn't good enough.
  12. Well Cam has yet to have back to back winning seasons, and I don't think he's accomplished very much in this league for all of the talent that he has. I wouldn't want him on my team.
  13. Do you think they'd want 2018 Keenum at any price? They have cousins on a short-term deal at relatively fair market value. The Vikes won't have time to regret the deal. It's not like they gave him a Cutler deal. He was the only QB in the league that was available that could keep their Super Bowl window open. I'm sure they would have preferred Rodgers, but you can't always get what you want. Wouldn't be shocked at all to see the Vikes use a 1rst/2nd on a QB who ends up starting when Cousins deal is up, and that may have been the fallback all along. Even if the Jets got Cousins, they were probably taking Darnold too..
  14. Right, but is that really a skill? McDermott talked about NP's great command of the huddle, too. Unless your name is Billy Joe Hobert, I would expect every QB in the league to know the plays and be able to quickly call them. In my eyes it's kind of a "I thought we punted well" sort of statement about a player.
  15. If Zay or Robert Foster are anywhere near your fantasy team, you might as well bench the rest of your team, because you've already lost.
  16. What exactly would this person do day to day? If your GM can't handle whatever those responsibilities are, why are they your GM? What makes someone have a strong "command of the huddle" and how does that translate into winning football games? I've heard this everywhere regarding a ton of teams the last year, and virtually never before that.
  17. Yet the viking didn't make him the best offer available. Your corporate overlords thank you for your unsuccessful support, however.
  18. If he started playing today, he'd probably be a star. The league wasn't ready for him and tried to make him something he wasn't. kinda like Randall Cunningham.
  19. I don't think you know what a millennial is.
  20. The odds of the Bills (3-7) going undefeated the rest of the way are about the same as the Bengals scoring a touchdown in the closing seconds of a game? I'd take that bet.
  21. Not guaranteed. If you listen to Bell's agent, which you should, the guaranteed money was the sticking point. NFL contracts are usually only in favor of the employer. They get to lock you in at the negotiated rate, even if you drastically outperform, and they can release you for little to no real cash commitment whenever they please. B they also have the ability to go after your signing bonus money if you're forced to retire because you got hurt on the job. If Bell gets a 5 year deal at $15m a year with high guaranteed money, in his mind that makes up for losing 14.5m this year. I get the argument from people on max value, but you also haven't shredded a knee with an annual value of $15-20m. Ask DeMarco Murray about his free agent payday.
