  1. He'd be an upgrade.
  2. To see if they're on track for the 5 year re-build I called when Beane started dumping talent the day he walked in the door. if JA can improve a little this year, and we can get some real offensive talent with our boatload of cash next year, then they could be ready in year 5 after they've gelled for a season.
  3. It's just same old Bills is all. There will probably be a good 9 former Bills that Beane let go in the playoffs this year - just like last year - while our guys spend January and February golfing.
  4. Winning?
  5. Salary was too high
  6. Wisniewski was just released by the Eagles. I think he's a definite candidate to look at for line depth.
  7. if this team were competing for the same thing the Chiefs are, I might agree with you, but we're 2 years away from that conversation.
  8. Going back to 2013 the Bills have ranked higher than 29th in Pass Percentage once (2014), you have to go back to 2011 for them to be in the top 10 (7th) at 60%. I don't think the stat alone helps that much in determining team success, because it can be affected heavily by the need to throw or grinding out games you're running away with. Last year The Pats, Rams, Saints Bears, Texans, and Ravens were all in the bottom 3rd and still made the playoffs and two of those teams were in the superbowl. However, the bills being 29th or lower every year without that kind of success is more indicative of outmoded style in my opinion.
  9. What are you talking about? Those other teams are all polar opposites of the patriots. The Rams have 3 great WRs and a top 3 RB (pre-knee issues), the saints have the best young WR in football and a top 5 RB, and the falcons have Julio Jones, a plethora of other weapons and Devonta Freeman. They aren't anything like NE's traditional blend of jobbers outside Julian Edelman and a committee of 9 RBs.
  10. While it's a completely new look for the team, I'm HIGHLY skeptical that they'll be very much improved over last year's group. I still think this is likely a bottom 5-10 unit unless someone like Foster breaks out. IMO, we've already seen the best of guys like Brown, Beasley, Gore, Kroft, and Yeldon and none of that is good enough to propel us into being a potent offense. We really need Robert Foster to shock the league and turn into a superstar and one of the two rookie TE's to prove the should have been drafted in the 2nd. I like Singletary, but I think he's a complimentary back, based on being so slow and small. It's hard to have a great offense when you don't have a RB capable of taking it to the house or a WR who's open even when he's covered. Only team I can think of that's built like that is the Pats, and Brady/Belichick nullify all standard rules.
  11. well for starters, they way overpaid for rosen. He was getting cut. A 3rd should have been the absolute highest anyone paid, but acquiring him was not bad and it still isn't. They can still use this year to judge if he's any good. If he takes over for fitz at some point, they can see what they've got or they can do that next year with a rookie. I don't think he's a top 31 forward personally, and he's an unbelievable drama queen. I've never seen a player who's done so little be such a whiny B word.
  12. Ok. I think the numbers and results speak for themselves. Eichel doesn't even play the same sport as McDavid.
  13. If Tim Murray didn't get unlucky and lose out on McDavid, he and Bielsma would still be here. The problem with the rebuild isn't the 2 GMs or 3 coaches we've had in the last couple of years. It's Jack Eichel.
  14. Man, do you think they would have taken Dawkins and Beasley for that haul?
  15. Tre White is as close as you get, though Nationally they don't consider him a Tier 1A corner yet.
  16. True, but it's interesting he wasn't an early cut based on his nearly zero results in pre-season/camp. I wanted to draft him with a day 2 pick. Imagine my surprise when he went undrafted. If he makes the team there has to be something else at play. Perhaps he absolutely blew them away in the classroom and they've intentionally had him focus on his weaknesses during camp and pre-season or something. It's really weird though.
  17. A lot of folks wanted him as a UDFA. I could be wrong, but I believe we made him the highest paid UDFA.
  18. I like Singletary a lot, he has a cool style. I'm not sure I see that translating into high end RB1 numbers though. He's just too slow.
  19. I just don't see how this makes us a better football team this year. We're a billion dollars under the cap, and even if they want to give others players more run, he's a useful piece to have. Reminds me of the Watkins/Darby trades where they just wanted them gone.
  20. One of them played in the AFC Championship and the other is the #1 WR on a rising team looking to run deep. I bet they don't miss Buffalo
  21. Great trade. Getting a 5&6 this year for a guy getting cut is a nice situation for us. Bates is a way better player. Hopefully it works out for them.
  22. The Colts had 4 good QBs a week ago, and one of them was getting cut. Now they keep all 3. The only QB they would want right now would be a guy like Eli.
  23. the talent is undeniable. It's the 2nd, 3rd. 4th chances that come with the name.
  24. Brown is our #1, but he isn't really what you want in a #1 receiver. On a good team, you'd like him to be your 3rd option, with a legitimate #1 do it all superstar, and number 2 possession receiver who can block and brown as your #3 burner type. If you have a great pass catching TE, he can be your #2.
