  1. That "holding" call consisted of Zay getting pancaked. Weak azz call
  2. You said you had a feeling he was being "showcased" for a trade, which typically means that a team or teams have called and want to see production to determine value. I didn't get that feeling at all. If any player last night seemed to be "showcased", it was Jones. He has more trade value right now than McCoy. I'm sure many players are "shopped", in the sense that if a team calls, they'll answer and entertain offers. I read your post as to say that "there's something in the works, and McCoy will likely be gone soon". Thats being "showcased". All I was saying is that, in all likelihood, he has very little value as a trade asset, and there's simply more benefit to the Bills in keeping him at this point. Now if a team is desperate and offers a 3rd, maybe even a 4th, I would seriously consider trading him, but that doesn't seem very plausible.
  3. I wouldn't say the Bills "need" to keep Williams. Sure, having a WR that can high point and block is great, but is it worth it to keep him at the expense of a WR that may be a better fit for Daboll's offense, who may do more things well than Williams? Also, Knox and Sweeney (probably a lock) are rather athletic TEs that offer similar things to the offense that Williams does, and I think we'll see a lot more 2 TE sets this year, especially in the red zone. I guess it all boils down to how many players at each position are kept this year, and what effect that may have on the WR position. Guys like Foster, and Zay (to a lesser extent) may not be the locks that we thought they were a few weeks ago, although Daboll probably has a bit of a soft spot for Foster. I wouldn't hate the idea of cutting Foster in favor of Williams if only 6 WRs are kept, especially since Brown essentially provides what Foster does, and then some. Its a good problem to have, and I don't envy the coaches.
  4. McCoy has more value to the Bills than he does on the trade block. He may still have it, but a 31 y/o RB on the last year of his deal MIGHT get you a 4th if you're lucky. I've been shutting down the "Shady will be gone" chat in my circle for weeks. People point to last year's numbers, while seemingly disregarding how terrible the offense was last year, with a poor O line.
  5. They were pretty good in the red zone last night. Lions got away with a blatant pick on their TD
  6. I thought so. I've been around long enough, and "know" you well enough, but that was a very well disguised sarcasm post...well done!
  7. My thoughts exactly, even the Favre reference. That play instantly reminded me of the two hero ball INTs he threw early last season. I thought for sure he was going to throw it away when he neared the sideline, and was pretty disappointed to see the result. BUT, this is when you want to make those mistakes if you're going to make them. Things have been awful rosey around Allen lately, and a little dose of humble pie in a "meaningless" preseason game doesn't hurt.
  8. Zay was pancaked. Flagging him for holding on that reminded me of Remember The Titans, where the opposing coach complains to the ref for Sunshine to get flagged for a personal foul. Different circumstances, but it just seems silly to flag a guy that was pancaked. I thought the same thing when they flagged a DT for holding on a run by the Lions (although I didn't see the "hold"). Did he grab two offensive linemen or something? If so, those linemen are sissies for not breaking loose from one man and shouldn't be rewarded with a penalty flag. Other than that, I didn't think it was a terribly officiated game. Allen did get bailed out on a weak PF, but you could argue the defender shouldn't have even touched Allen so late. He did hit his head on the turf as a result.
  9. I'm not totally disagreeing with this, but consider the fact that he played tackle in college, and has been in Buffalo less than 2 weeks. Not to shabby.
  10. I wondered that as well. Guessing here, but I think it's one of three factors: A: haven't been a customer "long enough" or already have significant credits at the time of the call B: not being polite enough with the rep C : not being direct enough with the rep. If you call and say "cancel service", and don't try to "force" them to keep you as a customer, the rep will simply adhere to your cancel request
  11. I think it was a weak reference to his Delecia troubles
  12. There's a difference between "generational talent" and "generational player". One is proven, the other has the skills to potentially be special. That said, Murray is neither if those, and I would argue that Josh Allen is more of a generational talent than Murray, based on his arm and ability to run. Murray may be a good QB one day, but there is nothing to hang your hat on at this point to say definitively that he will be. The same can be said for Josh TBH (to a lesser extent), but he's certainly checking off boxes. Kyler may be a more accurate passer than Allen, but the article posted is nothing more than shock-value click bating at it's finest. It's an easy way for upstart sites to generate revenue via traffic volume creating more advertising money. Nothing creates more traffic than controversy, and for non-reputable sites, it's a proven tactic. One member in this thread mentioned that they just had to click, just to post a comment on their site. That's a win for the site, not for the member that posted the comment. I'll get more satifaction out of ignoring the site completely, as opposed to supporting their money driven agenda by telling them how stupid they are.
  13. Tecmo Bowl was epic, but those 16 and 64 bit QB Club games were great, too! There's a newer version of Tecmo on XBOX Live called Tecmo Bowl Throwback (I was actually playing just yesterday). It looks like a remake of the Super Tecmo Bowl version, but there's a feature that allows you to switch to modern graphics whenever you want, including mid-play. You can also play head to head online. Unfortunately the Madden franchise has had exclusive rights for years, so there hasn't been a game with player likeness since probably the 2K series. Buffalo kind of sucks on this game, and their logo is a feather, but still a fun game.
  14. I was saying 9 wins was the floor back in May. After watching them play a bit, and considering the schedule, I feel a lot more confident in that. This very well could be the first double digit win season in a looooooooong time. They won 6 games last year with a mediocre offensive line, very little at WR, 4 different starting QBs, and a tougher schedule. Now, the roster looks much better, entering the season with an entrenched starter at QB (who is a gamer) in the same offensive system, and the league seems to have done the Bills several favors with the schedule. A lot of stars seem to have aligned for the Bills to make a run this year.
  15. Sometimes the better/best teams don't win. Bills vs Giants in SBXXV is a prime example, yet the '90 Giants are ranked higher on this list. The '90 Bills are commonly regarded as one of the best assembled teams ever, and the '90 Giants have never been part of that conversation. Given the source (MSN), I'm not at all surprised. There's a difference between being "best" and being "greatest". Greatness is generally measured by championships. Brady may be the greatest (championships), but everyone knows he's not the best ever, and far from it. Perhaps the title of the article is misleading. If Norwood makes that kick, (barring some Music City Miracle/Screw Job type play on the ensuing kickoff) the '90 Bills are ranked near the top of the list.
  16. I get that, but both guys are more than proven and don't need the PT. If they play, I personally would prefer only a couple snaps each.
  17. McCoy and Gore. Let Singletary, Yeldon, Perry, and Wade get the looks from here on out. BTW, I think Yeldon makes the team.
  18. I did that in 2016, and a US based credit card was accepted.
  19. "I already bruised my own quarterback...imagine what I'm going to do to you!"
