  1. I think part of it is that the Bills were "reeling" on most or all 4 of those. Momentum is real, and the Bills have been on the wrong end of that on those TDs.
  2. Bengals had good pressure all day, especially after Feliciano went down. Hard for WRs to be as effective with the Bengals nearly dominating the line on passing plays. Duke Williams will get the call when a WR goes down.
  3. Thing is, this was a game where I felt the Bills should have relied on the run more, especially early. They have a good defense to lean on, and the Bengals have a terrible run defense, but good pass rushing front 7. They came out passing almost as frequently as they did week 1. 3 and out on the opening drive was a slap to Daboll.
  4. The first INT was great. The 2nd was good timing, great play by Hyde. Either way, he deserves some pub
  5. Trap games are real in week 3 against 0-2 teams. Watch out for Pittsburgh at SF. These teams are desperate, and a better chance than Jets@**Pats or Fins@Boys. Easy betting. Called Bengals to cover, Steelers should cover too. Pats & Cowboys easy money
  6. Great way to make up for a critical drop earlier in the game
  7. Yeah, but he's helping the Bills seperate themselves from the "weak" teams. Can't help who you play, just beat them. Bills need to be 5-3 at worst at the halfway mark to have a shot at playoffs. 6-2 is still posssible. Get in, riding high, and anything can happen, but you gotta crawl before you walk. The Bills are currently "walking" in the regular season, but have yet to crawl in January under JA.
  8. Been a fan of his for a long time (49ers are my "2nd" team). He's probably the most underrated player I can think of over the last 20 years, and Fred Jackson was often considered the most underrated by Bills fans. Now, he's getting his due, since he has longevity and numbers. I was extatic when he signed with the Bills. The guy just loves football. Oh, and 2 ACL injuries at Miami behind McGahee and Portis just adds to the legend.
  9. In case you guys are new to media tactics... THEY CATER TO BIGGER MARKETS, ESPECIALLY WHEN WINNING. Get used to it, and embrace it. Bulliten board material
  10. Allen may have some issues, but its still early in his career. Some of his issues he's made strides in improvement, some not so much. But he's already checked off a few boxes, and one very important box is the "gamer" box. He's been more clutch at QB than we've seen in a long time.
  11. Report cards are always letters, bud. I never got a 3 in math I didn't like a few plays, but overall, he did enough to win. That's all that really matters...for today anyways. Those issues need to be corrected if we're ever going to compete with the big boys.
  12. Hard to disagree... BUT, he's still young and inexperienced. This may not be the year he leads the Bills to the promised land, but playoffs are very realistic. Growing pains and learning moments...those typically come with losses. Bills are 3-0 despite certain issues. If they can correct some issues and get out of their own way, watch out.
  13. Intentional grounding + loss of down < INT I like that he's trying to make up for previous mistakes, but don't make worse mistakes as a result. Hell, take a sack there. Just don't give it away. FTR, I've never been an Allen "hater", just call what I see.
  14. **Pats have beaten 3 winless teams... Edit: GIANTS WIN! BILLS OPPONENTS 1-8!
  15. Sadly, I agree. The **Pats are on another level, but may be without Edelman. At least, the Bills aren't crawling anymore. Hopefulky soon, they'll be running.
  16. Or figure out what to do against a terrible run defense
  17. 14th start. He's still learning. Not once did Daboll give Allen pre snap help by motioning DiMarco, and I think that was intentional. Not only did the Bengals probably study a lot of film on that all week, but its a good way to prep Allen for next week against the **Pats. They're slowly taking the training wheels off.
  18. Tre White, Hyde, Gore Allen gets another 4th quarter comeback, but hero ball INT and questionable play calling and game plan made it happen.
  19. I hope all those people that were complaining about the Bills being conservative before the end of the 1st half last week stfu now
  20. Play our game on defense, and take away the deep ball. They pass 75% of the time, and passing yards consist of over 90% of their yards. They'll probably try to establish the run, but they've been terrible rushing so far. 49ers are my "2nd" team. Samuel is a stud. The Bills and 49ers are on similar paths this year. Easy first half schedule, back to back road wins to start the season for the first time ever. Similar offensive scheme, good defenses. Both team are ver close to each other in several statistical categories.
  21. That's why I think the line has been most important. If the line wasnt playing as well as it has, guys like Brown and Beasley getting open wouldn't matter quite as much, because Allen wouldn't have as much time to hit them as often. While the offense isn't exactly a well oiled machine firing on all cylinders, it would look less potent than it has without good blocking. And that has led to an improved rushing attack, which only helps the passing attack. The good thing is that talent has been added to all three areas at once: O-line, WRs/TEs, and RB. If one of those areas wasn't addressed, we would see a less potent version of the offense we've seen so far. Not only that, but having improved talent in those 3 areas should only help to speed up the progression of Allen.
  22. I'm not necessarily focused on the record, although I understand that being 2-0 certainly leads to more rosey overtones in posts. The Bills are far from the **Pats and Chiefs. The talent on the Bills is better, but not at their level. I think it's safe to say that, under McDermott, he gets the most out of his players and they may overachieve. When compared to those teams, the Bills really don't have much "star power" on the roster. I think as the Bills offense progresses, Allen specifically, we'll see a bit more of a killer instinct. Maybe that happens this year, maybe more noticeable next year. McDermott is a defensive coach after all, and the defense is the strength of this team, so it makes sense to lean on that strength until we see enough improvement on offense to warrant a significant shift in approach. We all want to see maximum results, and see them now. I do think that some of the overall progression of this franchise has been somewhat intentionally slow-played a bit, but it makes sense IMO. Soon, we'll lose key guys on defense to free agency and retirement, making that side of the ball less of a strength. Key players like Hyde, Poyer, Hughes, Zo may not be around too much longer, and it's not safe to assume that those wholes will be adequately filled immediately. The idea seems to be that, when that happens, Allen and the offense will have progressed enough to compensate for that, and will be able to overcome those losses. Then we'll see a shift in approach and overall philosophy. That's how a good HC/GM operates and builds for the long haul. And the good news is that even though McDermott is a defensive minded coach, he has enough sense to give his OC enough leeway to run the offense the way he sees fit. Many people have been calling out McDermott for being too conservative against the Giants with a 2 TD lead late in the 2nd, but all it takes is one play, one mistake on offense, to give the Giants the ball back with an opportunity to make it a closer game. And in the 3rd, the Bills weren't quite as conservative as people are saying IMO. Their problem was execution. There were plays to be made that weren't (Knox drop) that would have changed things, and penalties that kind of limited the ability to be aggressive on those drives, or wiped out gains. But again, with a strong defense, defensive minded coach, and a 14 point lead, the clock becomes an opponent as well. Until the offense takes another step or two, we should expect a similar approach in games, based on the opponent. In 5-6 weeks, we'll know a lot more, but the real test will come over the last 5-6 weeks of the season.
