  1. So true, by now there's not much left. A way you can make your safeties and cb's better is put more pressure on the qbs. Maybe the cupboard is empty on remaining pass rushers, but I know our current top 3 guys may not cut it? Would I like (not love) Aiyuk on a reasonable deal...yes. But I just feel we're done dealing. We're going to roll with this group and pray guys like Solomon, Coleman maybe Claypool step up.
  2. Babich may be the DC, but McDermott will always control the schemes and pacing of our defense. Hopefully we blitz a little less. We stay healthy and have the stamina to make stops in the playoffs. I'd almost be willing to load management selective players if it meant going into the playoffs healthy.
  3. Yeah, Rex & Jauron (Skeletor) were easily my least favorite coaches. Ironic they're both defensive. The lunch pail crap of Chris Kelsay got real old, real fast.
  4. Yeah....the problem won't likely be the offense. It will come down to coaching and keeping the defense healthy. Just once I wish Sean could scheme something up to get the better of Andy....Just once in the playoffs!
  5. I'm just personally tired of the national media narrative that for every JA17 interception, you subtract 1 td. No wonder he never wins the mvp. It's all about minimizing the picks. Regardless of whether you rationalize them into a punt.
  6. Our wrs will be challenging to attack considering opposing DC's won't have a clue who to bracket from week to week. Hopefully everyone stays healthy and focused as Josh spreads the wealth. Be gotta whole bunch of WR3's.......
  7. One play I can do without is the pass behind the LOS. And at least reduce the triple stack wr screen. I'm rooting hard for Claypool to not only make this team but have an impact. He could act as the "double dip" wr we didn't draft. I would like to see less blitzing out of frustration like Shaw and others referred to. I trust whatever combo package McD/Babich come up with, but it's all meaningless if our D can't stay healthy.
  8. This is absolutely correct. Josh could very well quickly develop a rapport with Coleman, Samuel and Hollins/Claypool. Figure Kincaid will assume the #1 receiver role. But there's still alot of unknowns. Shakir's role will be imperative to our success this season. We clearly proved we can win without 14.
  9. So true...I keep being told by the McDermott supporters to be patient and wait for Sean to have his Andy Ried moment. And maybe someday he does? I keep being reminded that before McDermott we were 17 years of awful. There's absolutely no denying Sean's top tier character and ability to bond with his players. But his players aren't stupid and they can see the game day flaws with their own eyes. As we can as fans. This franchise will be forever grateful to Sean & Brandon for having the courage to take a chance on a prospect from Wyoming. But once it was confirmed he was a superstar (2020), they turned their attention toward Defense. That imho will historically be one of their biggest flaws. Even this crazy wr heavy draft, we pick one guy? It just made no sense after losing your top 2 wrs. At this point, "Josh's growth" will factor more into a possible championship than Sean's will. Josh will have to rise above and be Superman every week. While we pray our defense can a) stay healthy and b) make one critical stop in the playoffs.
  10. Compared to Tua, Josh is Brady. But until he wins a Lombardi, Josh will always be the 2nd best qb in this era. Now fantasy football points is a whole different argument.
  11. Chan would clearly had the most success with Josh. He would've identified quickly the importance of surrounding Josh with a good OL & weapons early. The defensive guys probably would've stressed defense just like Derm has.
  12. Davis's role on this team inside the 5 yard line will be critical in taking pressure and impact off of Josh. Clearly Ray has the "power back" ability to quickly make fans forget we ever had Murray or Harris. As far as Coleman, Bishop and Carter go, I think they'll all contribute early. Coleman/Bishop will start quickly and players like Carter/Solomon will have heavy rotational reps.
  13. I don't care which RB gets the most carries as long as he catches the damn ball. Cook dropped 4 td passes last year...unacceptable. I too would be ok with Cook & Davis splitting carries 50/50. If James actually didn't have stone hands, I'd keep him as the feature back.
  14. Beggers can't be choosers...it's a dry wasteland of remaining pass rushers...
  15. So Gunner you're just rolling with Von, AJ & Groot?
  16. Spend whatever cap you have left on Ngakoue. Hes probably the best option of a sparse remaining group of ufa's. Last year "rental Floyd" outplayed our 3 amigos. I'd let Yannick rotate with Von, AJ & Groot. I still think our overall pass rush will struggle this year but at least Ngakoue has had a couple 10 sack seasons. Maybe one of those sacks could knock Mahomes out week 11?
  17. I know how to stop Kelce. Put Mahomes on his ass.
  18. I'm sure Jim agrees....
  19. ....but not near as funny...
  20. What's done is done. No one is whinning or being incessant about Beane's decision not to double dip. I personally think it might come back to bite him if certain current wrs don't pan out. And a wr rich draft like we just saw doesn't come around every year. Maybe Samuel, MVS and Coleman shine? Rookie wr contracts have great value. So BB is rolling the dice here.
  21. Just the way Andy likes em.
  22. Neither Hamlin or Lewis deserve to remain on this roster. We have to raise the bar a little on depth players.
  23. When the dust settles and Josh's career is over, we will truly realize what a special human being that came to Buffalo.
