Exactly...he's worlds better than the likes of Keenun, Kyle A. and Barkley. Is he a top 5 backup...no, but he can get ya a couple games if 17 goes down? Eventually we'll draft a 5th round guy, we just haven't gotten around to it yet.

I don't need any answers anymore. Stef was a passionate competitor who unfortunately allowed his Viking diva personality to rear it's ugly head again. The history books will write that both players needed each other in the advancement of their prospective careers. Josh will be better off with a diva-less group of wrs who "all get to eat".

I just hope there's a path where Claypool makes the 53. His poor motivation/attitude history gives him a low floor but that size and talent is there.

So what's the solution. Ask Sean to build a different style of defense designed to stop Mahomes & Burrow. We haven't had a healthy elite pass rusher since the day 17 was drafted. Every single year in the playoffs it's a different defensive excuse. Against Houston we petered at the end. 2 straight years Leslie's defense gets shredded. In the blink of an eye (the Hamlin chaos year) we trailed Cincy 14-0 by the time I returned from the frig. Even if Bass makes that kick we're still losing because 50% of our defense crumbles to injuries. What's the solution? Start practicing NBA load management for our defense? Actually draft players who can get to Mahomes? I'm all ears....

This is exactly what I've been saying since we drafted Coleman and signed Samuel, MVS and Claypool. DC's will have no clue week to week who to key on. We won't be handcuffed force feeding targets to a diva. Like what's being emphasized in camp...."everyone eats"...

Thank you....it always has and always will be about corporate (NFL) "greed" and the maximization of revenue. Don't kid yourself that they care about the increased injuries upon an 18 game season. The NFL will reduce it to 1 or no more than 2 preseason games for rookies and bubble guys. The NFLPA will 100% insist on 2 byes and potentially a roster expansion beyond 53. And the season will start Labor Day weekend, ending with the SB on the last Sunday in Feb. And there's very little the fans or players can do about it aside from a strike. This odd/ even 17 game schedule is not long for the NFL.

I have no doubt in my mind that Stef's first and greatest beef was with coaching. Then we saw a secondary shift directed at Josh probably because Josh wasn't ready to confront the coaches. Eventually the relationship broke and was finished with Brady's devalued use of 14. I'll never deny Stef's passion to win but unfortunately his past personality reared it's ugly head causing the fracture.

Listen, rankings are arbitrary at best and inaccurate at worst. There will always be gms, execs, coaches and journalists who rank their guys all over the map. Cowherd opened his show today spending 10 minutes praising Josh's accomplishments over the years despite unfair criticism. He compared him to Farve & Manning because they had their Mahomes (Brady) to hurdle over. Patrick & Josh in my eyes will always be 1 & 2. After that I really don't care where you stick Burrow (injuries) or Lamar (playoff failures). And to wrap up Cowherds show he stressed "don't EVER tell Josh to stop taking risks. The greatest people in history took risks".

I agree with all of this. The Niners & Raiders will want alot. Likely multiple high picks. Then there's managing the cap. Landing one of these guys would immediately vault our pass catcher group to top 10. I know it's a long shot but I'd like to see BB try.

Took the exact words out of my mouth. Who knows who emerges as our #1 WR, if anyone? I have very little faith in our pass rushers as Groot & AJE have underwhelmed. And then there will always be McD getting undressed by Reid or Taylor. In the short term these are the 3 biggest areas of concern.
